Great for your application. My firewood usually comes from oak trees that are 2-4 feet in diameter. I use large ported saws so this wouldn't be practical for me but they have their place.
For sure... I tried the saw on a few bigger sticks... And it kind of bogged down a bit, I guess that's to be expected. I've never owned a log splitter but hope to pick one up in the near future... Thanks for checking it out and commenting.... It's greatly appreciated, Jim
It's an electric world now :) I went to get a new trimmer at Home Depot and nearly all the lawn equipment was electric. The gas-powered tools had a little corner in the back. I'm here for it and can't wait to swap out the rest of my gas-powered stuff.
For sure… I’m slowly changing out most of my gas powered tools as well… Thanks for the time and comment… I greatly appreciate it… hope you guys are having a rockin weekend. Jim ✌️
Thanks John.... I haven't used one of the gas saws since I hurt my shoulder.... So I was thrilled to try this one out... OK, now I just have to see if I can get Claudia to use it 😊 Just made it back North... Hope you guys have a great weekend ✌️
Thanks John... I've been nervous about using gas saws ever since I hurt my shoulder.... So this really has been helpful... Hope you and the family have a blessed Thanksgiving as well.
That's awesome.... I probably should have gone with the 16 as well. I just gave away my gas powered saws... Thanks for the time and comment.. greatly appreciated, Jim ✌️
This looks great. We have an electric chainsaw after just getting fed up with our gas one. The electric one is a pain because you have to drag out the extension cord. This looked easy to handle and like it cut well.
Thanks Sarah... I've been nervous about using gas saws ever since I hurt my shoulder... For small and medium cuts, this thing has worked great... And boy is it convenient... I'm hooked and plan on giving the gas chainsaws away 😊 Happy Sunday ✌️
Very nice. I have a Stihl Fam Boss that I used but now that I have a defibrillator in my chest when we get back to Oregon next spring I plan to switch to a 20" 60v Dewalt chainsaw and give that a workout. Supposed to not interfere with the defibrillator like a combustion saw, we will see. Have a great weekend, you may want to stay around that fire and stay warm.
Thanks Dave... Sure sounds like the way to go... That 20" 60v will make for a great review. I think people really appreciate knowing how we adjust to our constraints... Snowy and cold today in Michigan... Think I'll just sit by the fire and sip Coffee today. Hope you guys are having a fun weekend, Jim
I too am so done with gas-powered chainsaws so this review was very helpful. I'm curious if you noticed oil leakage when it was just sitting. Thanks for the video, Jim. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Daryl... I haven't noticed any oil leaking so far but read that it can be an issue... The saw worked great on small and medium cuts... Which is pretty much all I plan on doing from now on. If I can get geared up in time... I may take the kayak out today. Happy Sunday Buddy ✌️
Ohh man, I've got a few k of trails I maintain there, and am always clearing fall down off of it. Way to rock the pumpkin smash! Like how the wrench fits in the back, I do loose my STIHL one every once in a while. Yeah with two battery packs that be a good trail maintenance saw. Have a rocking weekend!
Thanks Jeff... Ever since I hurt my shoulder, I haven't wanted to use the gas saws... So this was super fun to use... For small and medium cuts, this thing has really worked well.... And I love how convenient it is. The deer devoured that pumpkin within a day... Hope you guys have a super fun Sunday, ✌️
I decided to pick this one up because of my shoulder... But so far, it works great for the small and medium... cuts... I tried it on a big chunk and it kind of dogged out a bit... But I don't think it was intended for that. Have a great week buddy...
Thanks... Definitely the gas-powered saws for the big stuff... I had a shoulder injury a while back so I've been nervous about running them... I did try to cut through a larger log with the battery powered saw... It kind of bogged out on me, But I guess that's not really what it's intended for. Happy Thanksgiving, Jim
Nice review Jim! I have a lot of tools from Ryobi but not the chain saw. I will have to look into it now. Oh! If you want to do more testing I have a big brush pile I need cut up lol😊. Have a great weekend my friend.
Haha... I'll be right over... Or better yet, Claudia needs the experience running the saw, so I'll just send her... I really do like that saw... Hope all is well buddy... Happy Sunday ✌️😊
That is super nice of you… I greatly appreciate it. I will only do the occasional review, promise. I’ll be back on the trail or water for the next one… Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend… Thanks, Jim
Looks like a handy and useful tool to have on your property. It certainly cut through those branches quickly and seems to be easy to handle. The closest I've come to using anything similar to that; was an electric hedge trimmer decades ago. I also had a small gas powered Stihl 28 chainsaw that was good for cutting firewood. With the high price of gasoline and oil these days , I presume that your new Ryobi friend is going to be much more economical in the long run and will help provide a lot of good wood! Enjoy your fireside times and freshly made coffee along with your campfire cooking. Your fire pit brings back great memories of my lifestyle 35 years ago. Cheers!☕☕
Thanks much.... Ever since I hurt my shoulder I haven't been able to use the gas powered saws... This really made it possible for me to do some light cutting again... We are expecting snow late next week... I'm kind of looking forward to it. Canada and Japan... How Magical 😊
Thanks Jeremy... With my shoulder, I've been reluctant to start the gas saws. I have quite a few other Ryobi tools as well... So I decided to stick with the brand. For small and medium cuts, this thing works great. And man is it convenient... OK, I hope you guys are having an awesome weekend. ✌️
Thanks Bruce... I haven't used a gas saw ever since I hurt my shoulder, so this was super exciting for me. You'll be happy to know that the deer devoured the pumpkin the very next day, Lol... Saying that... I sure could use a piece of your homemade pumpkin pie and a cup of coffee right about now 😊 Happy Sunday Buddy, Jim 😊✌️🐕
It worked super nice on the small and medium size sticks.... Bog down a bit on large stuff... I only charged the battery one time and it's still cutting.... I've been super nervous about running those gas saws with my shoulder the way it is.... Have a great weekend buddy... ✌️
Hi Joe, I purchased Ryobi barr oil, but just because it was convenient. Apparently you can use the other brands but of course they recommend theirs. The saw has been working great for the small and medium cuts that I use it for. Thanks for the time and comment... Jim
They claim the chainsaw will get up to 128 cuts per charge... IDK about that .. I haven't been able to use the gas saws ever since I hurt my shoulder so this really was nice... Great, I just checked the weather and we're supposed to get snow at the end of the week... Thanks for that, Lol ✌️☕😊
I've been wanting to get a big chainsaw. Electric may be the way to go. How long does the battery last? Does this have any water resistance or is it only good for dryer conditions?
Thanks Age... They claim you can get up to 128 cuts per charge .. but I would question that. I'm not sure about the water part... But boy is it convenient and works great on small and medium cuts. I hope the Hunt's going well buddy... Much success your way, Jim ✌️
@@riversandcoffee it' quite rainy here on Vancouver Island, so I need something that can work in the rain. That's why I'm curious about these things. That's a lot of cuts! I guess if you had two batteries, you could recharge one while cutting with the other and there would e no issues. I would think the second battery would be quite pricey though. I know they are for DeWalt Tools. I'm still out there hunting. I'm enjoying the outdoors while doing it, so it's still a win even if I don't catch anything😁
Ryobi is always great quality.
For sure... So far, it's working excellent... Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Jim
The Ryobi battery-powered chainsaw makes cutting trees incredibly easy! Stay Connected
Thank you so much... Hope you're having Adventure filled and safe weekend... See you soon... ✌️😊
A very handy tool, thanks for sharing! Lovely fire there!
Thanks... I sure hope you have a wonderful week... 😊😊😊 And thanks for the support.
Hello, this is a very wonderful place, thank you for sharing.. have a nice day.😀

Have couple stihl gassers, use my dewalt battery far more often. My wife loves it too. Thanks for this.
Thanks John.... I haven't used one of the gas saws since I hurt my shoulder.... So I was thrilled to try this one out... OK, now I just have to see if I can get Claudia to use it 😊 Just made it back North... Hope you guys have a great weekend ✌️
Hope you get to Nature Walk in Empire
Very nice chainsaw review ❤ Thanks 👍
Much appreciated, My Friend. Have a great day! ✌️
Great review. Looks like you put it through the paces. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Thanks John... I've been nervous about using gas saws ever since I hurt my shoulder.... So this really has been helpful... Hope you and the family have a blessed Thanksgiving as well.
I just got a Ryobi 40volt 16" saw , it is awesome , cuts great , cuts as good as any gas saw I've ever used, battery last a good time.
That's awesome.... I probably should have gone with the 16 as well. I just gave away my gas powered saws... Thanks for the time and comment.. greatly appreciated, Jim ✌️

I'm still debating on getting one of these!!!

Yes, I do have a battery powered saw to but I'll keep my four gas powered
saws (Husky, Echo and Pioneer) handy for the big stuff for sure!

Thank you! Cheers!
I have no need of a chain saw but I watched and liked just because I like your channel.
That is super nice of you… I greatly appreciate it. I will only do the occasional review, promise. I’ll be back on the trail or water for the next one… Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend… Thanks, Jim

Lol, Thanks and have a wonderful day my friend. 😊😊😊
Great review Jim!
I’ve got a lot of Ryobi tools but haven’t made the switch with the chainsaw yet. I just might have to give it a go

They sure are amazingly handy...and really work well! Oh no, sacrificing a poor pumpkin...lots of good pies in that gourd! LOL Great stuff!!

It seemed to be fine then, how long does the battery last approx.
Super good video and demo
👍💪🤠

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment 😊✌️
Can you use regular barr oil for this saw or. One specific for this electric one?
Hi Joe, I purchased Ryobi barr oil, but just because it was convenient. Apparently you can use the other brands but of course they recommend theirs. The saw has been working great for the small and medium cuts that I use it for. Thanks for the time and comment... Jim
Nice saw, how long will the battery last. You need some white stuff there lol.☕️☕️🇨🇦🇨🇦
