- spine gourd or kantola
this veg is almost found in rainy season in jungle area .but due to it's value as medicine ,benifits now farmers grow it in there farms.
kantola needs 27* to 30* c temp & low humidity type atmoshphere & monsoon provide it..
but you can also grow them in march _april if you can give regular watering..
kantola grow well without maintenence ,low fertilizer & pestisides so one can easily grow it on garden or at terrace .
for potting media i use 30% river sand +20% goat dug+cocopeat & well drain soil....

In our arunachal pradesh state those spine gourd, pointed gourd, bittergourd, ridge gourd they all grow in forest n fields itself we don't cultivate but we get lots to have fir vegetables

@@buggebugge3976 why would I lie 🤣 plough a field it would grow up a lot by itself coz seeds are dispersed by birds or whatever means but it goes plenty in our fields . Somes cutivate if they want. It's like a weed grows every where n taking up space as they are creepers. Don't wleven need maximum care.

How much temperature can kantola Handel?
The area I stay in Rajasthan starts receiving 40 to 45 degree temperatures in April
+Brijesh Taparia .growing period of kantola is in July August ..temp must between 20 to 30*c ..you can grow it in January too when temp rise..if you want to grow in 40 to 50 *c you must make green house net & control temp & humidity too.
Mene abhi kantola ke tubers nikale hai , mujhe agle season ke liye grow karne hai so me gharpe kaise save karke rakh sakta hu tuber?

male & female both are different plants ..male plant has quite big flower then female & has only stem..while female plant has little fruit under flower ..

@@teenaseervi5942 You need to fertilize your plants with cow dung, compost, vermi compost, bone meal, wood ash etc. If you don't have any, then use chemical fertilizers like NPK 10:10:10 or something like that. Also check if there's any pest or disease in the plants.

Hi, i tried with seeds from mature fruit but they did not germinate. I think the root is sure way, but how to get it in city?
+Lakshmi S P V M have tried in monsoon? bcoz kantola seeds or roots grow in temp around 25*c & high humidity level. if you have grow in winter it may be fail..roots are not available in market .you have to purchase it from any agro shop
