The beauty about Comedy is that it allows a Comedian the ability to say whatever he/she wants no matter how “offensive”, and still be accepted as long as it’s funny. I think that’s what makes these guys so special. They’ll say whatever they want, no matter how messed up, to get the crowd to laugh and interact. They remind me of Richard Pryor and George Carlin in a sense. They speak on real shit and make fun of people, but at the end of the day it’s in good spirit. The 85 south show is needed in times like today where everybody’s afraid of saying anything in fear of getting stigmatized for offending somebody. These young men take me back to a time in my life where nobody took anything personal. Let’s get back to that. At the end of the day, Men like Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, and the 85 South Show are what help make the hard times in life a little more bearable.
