Ask your doctor about LINX. This is a small elastic string of beads that is surgically placed around the esophagus. It expands as food goes through it then closes again. It stops acid from refuxing.

    1. Chew food properly and try to eat mindfully and dont overeat
    2. Take 30ml of pure Aloevera Juice on an empty stomach with half a glass of water
    3. Eat alkaline fruits, Papaya, Watermelon etc. and also eat yogurt
    4. Drink lots of water
    5. Do 'Kapalbhati' and 'Agnisar' daily on empty stomach also other yoga practices.
    6. Dont eat or drink right before bed, eat atleast 3 hour before bed and drink 2 hour before bed
    7. Sleep on your left side or on your back.
    8. Eat fennel seeds after eating a meal, chew them properly while taking a walk
    9. Try 'Vajarasana' after eating meals.
    10. Eat non sugary chewing gums sometimes as you gulp down your saliva and dilute stomach acid.
    11. When feeling lump in throat or sudden sharp pain in chest, or lump in throat or back pain. Don't panic! It is not likely to be a heart attack if you have severe acid reflux or GERD, just get up take a walk, calm down, breathe and take ½tsp of baking soda in half glass of water. But remember it is to be taken in moderation.
    12. Eat small frequent meals
    13. Don't eat just before workout, atleast 2 hour gap.
    14. Don't bath right after eating food, atleast 2 hour gap, causes indigestion
Follow these rules or whatever you like, for atleast 15-45 days before jumping to conclusion that you have been cured and can go and eat whatever you wish to. I have done this mistake thrice, it feels that it is cured and let's go eat some fries and again you come on your bad eating habits and boom acid reflux is back so follow the rules for atleast 30-45 days accordingly to your condition and then slowly try to add back some foods or spices or whatever you feel like, and see who and what is the culprit.
And for the long term keep your tummy happy go on youtube or google and see maybe you have some bad habits which is bad for your stomach, like maybe your drink water with meals, or bath right after eating or whatever it is.
And yes, NO MATTER HOW SEVERE THE CONDITION IS YOU WILL GET CURED!

10 months of daily struggle and here’s some tips.
    1. Every body is different; what is good/bad for someone else may not have the same response with you
    2. Breathe - breathing exercises help for sure. Lay on your back with your knees bent, breath into the stomach and exhale fully.
    3. Things I eat that provide short term relief - melon, watermelon, cucumber, milk
    4. Triggers for me - peanut butter, bananas, tomatoes, lemon, hot drinks, spices, ginger, black pepper, alcohol, grains, bread.
    5. Try and minimise stress/anxiety as much as possible. I hold a lot of tension in my stomach which also creates issues with the oesophagus.
    6. Take note of the good periods as they will get more frequent the longer you go. Try to make note of what you did wrong that sent you backwards. Try not to allow this to happen again.
    7. Understand that you won’t always be like this, there’s many people that have overcame this so there’s no reason why you can’t.

Quite right. I’ve been battling with a hiatal Hernia for years. Culminating in an attack which altered something that prevented me eating more than a minuscule meal, meaning I am always hungry at night, just when I should be going to sleep. The remedy for that is to eat three or four very plain biscuits, then hopefully get to sleep before hunger strikes again. With the reduction in food, one would expect a reduction in weight. Nope!! That didn’t happen. I can’t get below 78kg. I’m reconciled to that fact, but at least I’m no longer almost 100kg, which was the case around ten years ago, long before the hernia reared it’s ugly head

Same! I ate like a handful of almonds with spices. Then I had bloating and inigestion. After a few days, I had difficulty swallowing even water! It was sooo painful more painful than covid. Then the worst was the pain in my heart. Felt like an elephant is stepping on my chest consistently.
Then I was diagnosed with GERD. Felt better after diet and medication. But after a few months, it came back with a persistent dry cough….

Each time symptoms go away temporary as i take the meds but comes back again the next day. Turns out there isn't enough acid in my stomach and the spincter muscle isn't closing due to low acid. My throat did not feel sour but instead bitter/chemical taste. I stop taking the meds and now am slowly getting better using Apple Cider vinegar twice a day+probiotics +digestive enzymes.

I am very surprised at the omission of some other very important foods which cause heartburn. Actually while Ginger is listed as "to eat" foods, its actually not very good. Its spiciness can irritate the lining of the stomach more. Black pepper and mustard are also powerful irritants. If you already have heartburn then some of the tissue in your esophagus and in stomach is inflamed. It is important not to eat foods that irritate those areas.

I’ve had acid reflux since high school. They had went away only coming once a year, then in 2021 for some reason they began again but much much worse. My social life was greatly affected, I had just made new friends who loved going to eat once a week, i of course joined them wanting to be around them but my reflux had other plans. I had so many flare ups during the summer of 2021 I had to be hospitalized twice. A lot of these flare ups happened while we were in these restaurants and bars, and I would always ruin the fun because someone would have to drive me home because my chest would have its annual 4th of July firework contest. That’s the closest thing I can explain the pain of the acid. It’s like a hit then an explosion (a painful explosion) but I felt so bad and ashamed I just made new friends and now I felt I would lost them because I always got sick while we were out it sucked!! Nonetheless they loved me anyway and drove me home and took care of me with no complaints. (Jose you’re the best!!!) I just shyes away from going to get food with them but we did other things. I’m still not 100% on the exact things that cause it but I am 98% sure red sauce or red gravy or red anything is not my friend, citrus, spicy, fried, lemon or lime so basically I was maybe 210 last summer I’m 180 now because I only eat twice a day for fear of the fireworks.

Something else that relaxes the Sphincter and triggers reflux is Mint, Spearmint, peppermint or anything with mint. I changed to Mint green tea to reduce my coffee intake years ago. Recently I had a heart attack and along with that loads of pills. Including a PPI to control the reflux. But I still felt the symptoms and the usual knot in the throat. So I read up on stuff I was shoving in my mouth. The one thing that stood out was mint. I stopped eating and drinking products that had mint in it 2 weeks ago. The reflux is now 90% better and getting better by the day.

Guys commenting here after a year of struggle, I am healed now. 2 things: stop stressing about what you’re eating this stress is the worst part. The more you stress the shallower your breathing will be, this then puts tension in your stomach which causes acid reflux. Do things daily to lower your stress levels. Walks, meditation etc. Also a game changer is diaphragm breathing exercise laying down. TH-cam it, this changed everything. In terms of eating for me the only things that definitely cause me reflux are spice, tomatoes, chocolate bars, everything else is ok as long as I didn’t stress about it and overthink that it would cause me reflux. I got into a rabbit hole of constantly thinking everything would make me worse and it’s an unbelievably horrible cycle to get caught in, but eventually by doing the things above I made it out. Mine was insanely bad and if I can make it out so can you, good luck! Any questions just ask!

I never experienced heartburn but I’m an actress/singer and I was losing my voice a lot and having coughing fits at night. I still get reflux after eating such as excessive burping or hiccups, but that's nothing compared to the pain that develops at night time right before bed, or during sleep.
Sleeping on my back really helps reduce the pain, but this also leaves me more susceptible to sleep paralysis. This is a bit of a battle I'm going through right now.

@@hayleyelizabeth7895 At the time I wrote this, my reflux was out of control. I was really worried about prolonged medicinal treatment, or surgery to correct it. Luckily, it did not come to that.
I've since got it under better control. Reducing stress levels and identifying foods/beverages that trigger it was key. There are also foods/beverages that have a cooling or nuetralizing effect as well such as cucumbers and coconut water.
I'm not sure if I can actually ever cure it, but I am able to manage it more now. Thank you!

I am sorry to hear you are suffering, though. The pain I experienced was absolutely horrible. It caused many restless nights, and I was so drained everyday. I couldn't even imagine dealing with that and a pregnancy. I will wish you good health, and a healthy pregnancy.
I know it sucks to give up the foods and beverages you enjoy. I can admit I haven't given them up completely, but I have limited how much I consume them. Besides, most of the reflux causing foods are generally not good for you anyway, so switching to healthier foods will only benefit you and your baby.

Unfortunately, this doctor didn’t tell you how to reverse your symptoms, so I’ll go ahead and help some of you out with that. Here is a short list of supplements to help reverse your situation if you’re dealing with acid reflux.
    First of all, DO NOT take Tums or any ant-acid, because acid reflux is happening because your stomach acid is too low. So in short, you need to raise your stomach acid content when you’re eating, and here’s the protocol that I use;
    1) take a digestive enzyme capsule immediately before a meal.
    2) 10 minutes before a meal, take 2-3 high milligram Betaine HCI + pepsin capsules. This will raise your stomach acid.
    3) take a tablespoon or two of organic apple cider vinegar with the mother in a glass of water and drink that to raise your stomach acid as you are eating. You can switch that out for apple cider vinegar capsules if you don’t like the taste of apple cider vinegar in water, which most people don’t.
    4) To help your body produce it’s own stomach acid, you will need between 4700 mg and 6200 mg of potassium a day. This will be impossible to achieve if you are eating the standard American diet, so you can grab supplements that will have a large amount in each capsule. I take one that is 1020 mg per two capsule serving, so I will usually take 8 capsules a day. This has been proven to help your body make its own stomach acid.
    5) take niacin/vitamin B3 daily, but you will want to take the non flush kind, which is niacinamide.
The cool thing about the last item I listed is this also helps with hair growth and depression or anxiety issues, but you must take a large amount to help with depression. Anywhere between 8000 mg and 11,500 mg has been shown to literally get people off of depression medications in many instances.

Ginger, tomatoes, strawberries, apples, give me acid but pineapple sooths the acid. And of course, lemon, oranges, pomelos etc. But also, all processed food with conversative in it : citric or ascorbic acid and that is almost in everything. Sometimes it isn't even mentioned on the package, but I will know it as soon as I lie down. I drink a lot of coffee but only the instant one : Nespresso or senseo give me heartburn. It is very tricky when you go to a restaurant because even if you ask if there is lemon or citric acid in something, the waiter doesn't always know what the cook uses. I am suffering from BPCO so I have to avoid cow milk and everything based on cow milk, bell peppers, onions, and everything else that causes glares. I have the feeling there is not much left for me to eat without a risk.

While this advice is good for those suffering with Acid Reflux I always tell people that if you have diabetes for example you cannot have fruits high in fructose as that will spike up your sugar. So read material on any disease or issue you have and you’ll figure it out yourself.
No one knows our body better than ourselves.
And definitely we all know that fast foods are BAD for us. We should cook our own food and also take the time to enjoy it.

@@onlinestore8551...... hi there. For me it's PPIs all the way. I take 2x 20mg omeprazole capsules daily. And although I'm aware that you're not supposed to take them long-term, I've taken them for decades, and my GP is very happy to prescribe them to me. Also as a quick fix, i.e., if I forget my omeprazole or have a particularly nasty flare-up, I use over-the-counter Rennie tablets or Gaviscon. Again, you are not supposed to take these alongside omeprazole, but it works for me, and my doctor tells me that that is the most important thing, but not to overdo them! But in the past at times my reflux was so severe it occasionally made me vomit up the entire contents of my stomach, and that's not nice. I've retched and vomited so hard at times I've burst all the blood vessels in my face, and ended up looking like a radiation burns victim!
I used to take Lansoprozole, but found they restricted the production of stomach acid so severely I was failing to digest my food properly, and began to suffer from indigestion, which is a completely different clinical condition to acid reflux; it's actually the complete opposite side of the spectrum. And yet we see shops selling home remedies that claim to treat both conditions. Really? Sounds like witchcraft to me!

From the last one i have been fighting with this disease and only due to this lockdown am able to stay at my home and eat some plain foods. As am a university student so only god knows what would have happened to me if i was in hostel.
This thing is making me very depressed 😢.
