DIY - CLOSET ORGANIZER

  • Inspired from last weeks project, I decided to try making my own "closet organizer" from dollar store fabric bins, aka cube storage. It exceeded my expectations! I also discovered a few ways to vastly improve my DIY creation, as well as the store bought ones. Simply by adding a rigid board, you can take these pretty flimsy fabric and cardboard shelves, and turn them in to something surprisingly substantial.

    This video showed the easiest and effective way I've seen to make this hanging shelf organizer 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

    This is just what I have been imagining for my laundry room but I was so hesitant to buy one because they looked flimsy. Thanks for this :)

    Love this. Exactly what I needed to see. FYI sewing the glued back Velcro leaves yucky residue on your needle. I have had this problem before. Wd40 on a paper towel rubbed on the needle takes it off.

    This is great! I have a small closet and I try put pants in mine toward the middle and it makes the top part go down.

    Ok see I was thinking I want one of these but not wanting to buy and wishing I can use fabrics that I already have so that I don’t waste…and I thought I’ll try my shot at finding a diy on it bc idk if I can make it myself even tho it seems basic. I’m so happy this video exists is my point. Bc I really thought no way, I come up with crazy ideas that never exist. 😂

    I think you need to think how could you do that but make it so it’s steady so you could pull it out from underneath your bed but you get more shelves instead of one little shelf at a time so it’s like what you mean but it’s laying on the ground and you can put them all at one time that would be so awesome

    Wonder if you can use floor paneling it's not heavy.

    Cool! What other type of glue can be used? I can't use spray glue. Also it cost too much. The top part was complicated for me. I'd have to do it a simpler way.

    • @IamNickDClements

      I would imaging most glues would work. My firs choice would be rubber cement, but I don't see why wood glue or even just Elmer's wouldn't work as well. Spray glue is just fast and convenient. (I've seen small cans of spray glue at the dollar store too, so you can find it for pretty cheap) Also depending on how much weight you plan to put into it, you could probably get away with zip tying it together. Or if you sandwich each cubby between 2 sheets of hardboard, you could bolt the whole thing together.

    Hey, dude! Yesterday, I heard your name when Jack was reading a bunch of the donations. How's it going?

    • @IamNickDClements
      @IamNickDClements  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      HA! That's kind-of insane! Yeah, I tuned in right as he was ramping up, and said, 'if everyone could just donate one more dollar we'd hit our goal.' So I donated a one. 2:59:42 in the stream he says it :D and he said it correctly! It is after all an Irish name, Clements. ;) - That's so crazy that you heard it, and recognized it. Things are going well. I'm just doing my best to keep making cool things and cool videos.

      I am Nick D. Clements Yeah! I recognized it bc I've been warching some of your videos since the "Secret Sam" video. (That was very neat, btw.) In the beginning of the stream, I was warching it with my friend on the phone. I wanted to donate, but I couldn't, so my friend did. His didnt get read, though. At least it was still worth it bc he donated to a great cause.
