Great voice acting haha! People need to get out of their comfort zone and take some courses! I’m about to take my 3rd course for the year. Great video brother
Thanks Joe for watching and commenting. It's really amazing how many riders do not take any courses beyond the basic rider course. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
I’m one of those guys that didn’t take any courses and just took the test and passed it. But I never stopped practicing in the parking lot. I bought cones to help me. I have meant a lot of veteran bikers that still duck walk their bikes and can’t do 18’ u turns. I watched more than a thousand videos of how to’s on you tube and I even took Rob Simmons practice session 113 last month so look out for that guy on the gauntlet grey street glide. 😉
Thanks for watching and commenting. Good practice makes better. I'll be looking for you in that practice session. Thanks for your continued support. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍✌️👊
I’ve always from day one use BOTH brakes 100% no matter if it’s slow or fast. Doing that is just memory when you actually going to get in a bind and need both brakes. That comes from riding many years ago when Harley’s did not have abs Brakes. You actually had to know how to ride and clutch. Even the bikes back then had hard clutch pulls. These people getting into it today would be in a bind without all this new crap on them to make you a safer rider. Practice and learning how to properly brake and clutch is key to being a good rider. Rely less on this technology to do it for you.
To summarize: Using BOTH brakes properly, riding the clutch as needed, and looking where you want the bike to go is at least 90% of the battle. I say this as someone who has been riding since 1979 (1974 if you count mini-bikes), and with the exception of motocross, I have never laid a bike down or collided with anything (and even in motocross I never collided with anything). And yes, I am knocking on wood repeatedly as I type this.

As someone who is getting back into riding after an 18 year hiatus (wasn't my choice), I find these kind of videos to be an invaluable resource. Thank you VERY much for emphasizing the keep-it-upright-and-keep-it-going sensible approach that the hot-doggers seem just too ready to dispense with as, "Stuff for the n00bs."

I subscribed, thanks for the trick. I never thought of that although I’ve done the same thing when I couldn’t get into my new f150 after being locked out with a dead battery. I hit the key fob while jumping from the starter. It unlocked and cranked with the remote while connected.

The rear brake one was hard for me to get over because as a kid on a bicycle I went over the handlebars more than once from locking up the front brake. Turns out a motorcycle is totally different but it took me nearly a year when I started riding at age 17. Now I replace my front brakes about twice as frequently as my rear

Learned to ride on a scoot years ago, then MSF and went legit. Practice makes ... well, almost perfect. ( I wish our Millennials could drive at least as well as most experienced riders can ride, sadly they can't. ). Back to the MC's, ... Biggest issues thing I see is Riders 2- up and needing to do a 3 point U-turn, or dragging their feet when riding at 10 mph or less. If I could make changes to the MV Licensing laws, ... It would be : You need your class 6 first, for at least a year, then you can get your class 5, then after that, go for class 4,3,2, or 1 after at least 3 yrs more experience .... And turn signal usage.... Allow the cops to pull over a vehicle for failing to properly indicate a lane change and give them a hefty fine. That should smarten up their generation. Stay Safe.

Good Content, I have always thought part of the fun of riding was learning slow riding skills. I bought a Suzuki GS with a sidecar in the mid 1990's and really started practicing regularly. Unfortunately, many miles and motorcycles later arthritis and joint replacements in my hands has made "feathering" the clutch and brake unreliable at best. I personally knew it was time for me to stop riding when I was on my 98 Road King and practicing an uphill, left hand U-turn and my knuckles locked up in both hands. The pain distracted me and broke my line of sight with where I was heading and I dropped the bike. Fortunately my son was on hand to help lift it up. I decided to give up riding. A hard decision, but if that had happened on the road I would be a grease spot. Another case of Practicing slow maneuvers saving a life. In general practice, they can be a self test of mobility for old timers.

I started back in the 80s there was no courses back then. I learned a lot of bad habits which are hard to break we do need to practice more.
