Necklace popped into my head 1 sec. before you said it. I love jewelry. I’m not sure it was due to the lighting, but I noticed changes in the colors as it continued to dry while you were mark-making. I really like the “blotchy” areas on the hot press side of the page. The design is like a big smile. Wonky, forever! A big ol’ hug for you, Denise. 🤗
It is like a big smile.. a big wonky smile!! 😂 It was interesting to see how the colors looked and reacted to both papers in this! So glad you hung out with me today!! Thank you! 🤗
I realize I need more "wonky" in my designs...let go of the exacting thing in my head. This piece turned out nice, not my color choices, but you brought it to life. I do see some gold for the center piece at the top. I agree about the Neptune brushes. Bought a few at the art store without knowing a thing, turns out they are great. The cashier at the art store even commented on them.
It is a bit weird on the colors - but it is a favorite piece for me now! I really love it! More gold up top would be good! I’m so glad you like those Neptune brushes too! 🤗🤗🤗

Love this and the colors you chose! You continue to inspire me. I want to order some acrylic paint and paint pens but I live in the north and it is often below freezing here. Does anyone have experience with having acrylic paint items shipped in the winter? If the product freezes is it still usable when it thaws? Is it better to wait until spring?
That is a great question - hopefully we get someone up north to see it and tell us how it has worked for them! You might see what art stores are near you too and go in and talk to them about it and pick up some goodies while you are there. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you! 🤗
I just love your journal so far! Have you used the Khadi watercolour paper for this journal? I really like working on this paper. Thanks for sharing the creation of your spread!
Love this one! But, when you talk about the tempera paint sticks not being color fast, inside a book where the artwork is not exposed to light 24/7, is that really a concern? I don’t understand much about lightfastness except on pieces that are exposed to light on an ongoing basis. Thx.
It really depends on how low quality those tempura sticks are. Low - could end up fading even in our books. We’ll just have to test it out and see what the pieces look like a year from now! I saw something implying they will fade a while back and it gave me pause. But I really like them. Such a dilemma! ☺️
@@2lilowlsstudio I saw another artist add watered down matt medium when applying her Tempera paints, it'd be interesting to test that out to see if it makes a difference to longevity. Lovely piece today. 😊
I highly recommend all of Denise‘s art journal workshops. I have made probably about 10 of them. I love all of them and I can’t quit making them lol❤
I'm so glad you love making the journals!! I love them too! Thank you! 🤗
Love when you pan the video across close up details. Your strokes are so impulsive yet all those details are hidden in there. Wow!
Thank you so much! I love when I can get those little details in there! 🤗
Love how this turned out. How fun!!
Denise, this was so fun to watch! I also love wonky and not perfect…..great color choices too! Thanks for sharing your work with us!
