One thing I'm wondering about is, depending on what function is being run, could this get expensive? I just came from another video where the guy mentioned that he hosted his on DB in a VPS, and to facilitate DB backup, he ran a cron job at the end of every day to store a snapshot of his database in an S3 bucket. So I guess you would want a really clear understanding of the compute price of whatever cron job you were running, right?
Hey thanks. Google wiki was irritating to wrap my head around. So simply a task to repeat. Like a chore. Why is it called cron tho? Is that a shortform on something
When I try to edit after inputting crontab -e, no Text Editor comes up. I see the code in something called LXTerminal. How do I edit from here? My Raspberry Pi has a Text Editor. Do I have to copy and paste it into that? Or maybe it is open in some Editor and I just have to figure out which one and what the commands are? Thanks!
How do people not know of cron? Basic unix concept lol. Ive known about it since before i started to program lol. Also bruh, u dont need a library for this when actual deployment platforms like k8s or lambdas do it for u
Wow look how smart you are. Some of us aren't as experienced as you are. Many of us have not worked with UNIX. You lack basic social skills. I would never dream of blasting you over all of the things that I know, that you don't know. Fix yourself dude.
you saved my mental health with a video that was only 5 minutes long. You don't know how much I thank you!
Great explanation. It was easy to grasp. God Bless!
try to zoom in so everyone can see the code
good job
Thank you so much, really clear explained and nice examples.
i misunderstood cron, I conflated it with a product or specific service, not a concept that gets used in all sorts of things. thanks for the video.
Same, took me a long time to figure out what people were actually referring to lol
great explanation
