      John Mike Here's a thing we don't run In-Ears we just use monitors like the speakers next to us and we run stereo.

      I created 6 stereo busses on 12 outputs of my X32. We run them in 6 Behringer P1's. Every member controls his/her mix by tablet and everyone is happy!

    3:42, converting stereo source to mono. No. Don't do this. That adaptor will short the Right to ground and you'll only hear the Left channel of the source in mono. Instead use a dual 1/4" cable and put each into the Left of channel 2 & 3. Plugging into only the Left input will cause the signal to be sent mono to the main buss. Ch2 will be the Left source, Ch3 will be the right source.

      Can you better explain this? I am running monitor mix out of left channel and sending the right out to the house. I have a mono headphone adapter in the left out but I’m still only hearing stuff in my left ear. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks this first video I’ve seen that addressed the elite core in ear pack that allows you to use a good xlr cable instead of the cheap headphones extension cables that were giving me all kinds of static and don’t hold up - thanks for the help on this. I use a Mackie Mix 5 mini mixer works great also for about $59.

    Mike! I have a question about setting up a personal IEM system for me. Wanted your opinion on how to do so. Please forgive me if you had mentioned it in this video already. But I'm a drummer looking to use my own personal IEM setup. I wanted to bypass the house mixer and use something compact and portable. Can I run a small 4 channel mixer with a room microphone and a set of IEM's. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you and God bless.

  • @Princefresh77
    @Princefresh77 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Wouldn’t the whole system work just as well without the in ear pack ? So u just plug your in ears straight to the mixer

    • @Johnmike
      @Johnmike  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes ive done it like that for years...but the purpose of using the IEM pack is to give you some extra distance away from the mixer because headphone extensions pull on your neck and so you can have volume control from your belt without having to reach over to the mixer or so you and a drummer can share the same mix from the headphone jack but still have independent control over volume

    • @CarloCastillo
      @CarloCastillo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Johnmike excellent point! And you're right, technically you can set it up without the IEM pack. But at this price point, the reason you just gave is worth a ton considering the extra flexibility it gives you. Bravo!

    Thank you for this tutorial John!! Quick question: Me and a band mate are wanting to use IEM’s such as this connector with a Alto ZMX 862 mixer so I was wondering if using two sets of in ear’s how would we configure this on the mixer? Thanks again, I’m definitely a newbie

    • @EverythingWill
      @EverythingWill 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You only have one headphone output on the Alto so I would suggest getting a headphone amplifier to send to different in ears. You obviously won't be able to get different mixes as you don't have busses on the Alto but you can control the master headphone level individually on the headphone amp. Here's an idea of what im talking about. Let me know if that was the answer you were looking for www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Mackie-HM-4-Headphone-Amplifier/2B0T?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+GENERIC&adgroup=GENERIC&medium=vertical_search&network=google&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=107597d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=644902077543&gclid=Cj0KCQiAn8nuBRCzARIsAJcdIfM53qS8Fd-McUn8WlwbavDvXmbBpFx9IMSI3PlxjKY3yKJ0pgcX0z8aAoIWEALw_wcB

    Can I make this work with the mixer you used: I want to be able to play audio source (laptop) into mixer and out to a speaker(s) as well as my IEM. I have a 3.5M to RCA adapter that I would assume I could plug into the 2-Track L/R INPUT from my laptop for audio source. And then would plug 6.5M cable from LINE OUT to guitar amp/speaker and then 6.5M adapter to my IEM. That way I could play audio source through loud speaker but still have audio in my IEM to play to.

    I would need some simple information. I don't know if what I'm going to ask you is achievable or not. I live with several people and therefore when I play the guitar I embarrass them because my room is not well soundproofed and therefore even if I am at a "normal" volume they can hear. So my goal is simple: to have the sound of my amp in my headphones but I could simply have plugged them into the jack of my amp but when I do the sound is very very weak and they sizzle more than anything else ( I want to say that I do not have headphones in 6.5 and therefore I use an adapter), and when I play I am 1.50-2 meters from my amp so the cable is not long enough. So I would like to know if I am using a wireless in-ear system can I only hear the amp from a distance? For example if I take the T.bone IEM 75 system that I plug it in mono on the "headphone" jack of the amp is that I could use it just like that or do you have another solution so that I can play with headphones remotely without disturbing anyone?

    The mono plug is the TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) plug. The stereo plug is TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve). Obviously referring to the rings (or how many there are when you look at the actual plug).
    Otherwise, very cool and informative! More power to you!

    I think you have it the wrong way around. Mono is single ear, Stereo is multi-source. So stereo is both ears.

    I wouldn’t recommend Beringer products. They break down quick and your out of money. Better to spend an extra $10-20 for a Mackie, Yamaha, etc that will last.
