Jiu wrote the lyrics for Dear (and helped with the composition and arrangement) and she wrote it about Dreamcatcher's feelings for InSomnia. So getting all in your feelings is both justified and valid :)
I always love how in depth you get and how you can get yourself going tying in different imagery through the lyrics and the videos and production etc. I feel like when I check out albums I get sucked into the minute details of the production and how they tie the song itself together, basically I tend to hyperfocus on the sonic journey they take us on and the emotions I get just through that, so I love seeing your thoughts on the lyrics and how it all comes together. Especially since you often do it without much of the context clues some of us might already have going into it (X member wrote this song, Y member mentioned Z detail about the meaning of that song, etc). You often end up in the same ballpark, and even if not, still with some great interpretations of what the song could mean about dreamcatcher's journey, or societal commentary, or whatever else. There's always an intended meaning but so much of art is what we make of it, and I often find myself incorporating thoughts you've come up with into my own interpretations and feelings about a song or an album. Thank you so much for continuing to share your dive into dreamcatcher with us ^_^
"Break the Wall" is one of my fave B-sides. IMHO, the very best version is the "7 spirits concert soundcheck". It has Handong, and the members are in 'civilian' clothes and normal make up. Dami was on fire, but Siyeon totally dominated.
The only special clip for this album is the "Break The Wall" special clip. Other notable videos for this album are the BOCA part change and K-zombie dance videos, "Break The Wall" showcase, and BOCA dance relay.
Don't be surprised if DC knows you exist. The girls have been known to poke around on the TH-cams and check out reaction videos from time to time 😁 Also, yes, CGYOOMM was always in English. In Nashville last year JiU, SuA, Yooheyon, and Gahyun surprised us by coming in from the back of the theater and walking down the aisles while singing that one 😭
I think you will have a blast watching a live performance of Break the Wall, they, especially Dami and Siyeon, make it more intense which is honestly significantly better than the studio ver. Not to mention Siyeon's howling at the end, she made it longer than it originally was which is a definite chef's kiss
I know I'm just spoiling the concert performances atp (sorry about that 😅) but I still get reminded of that certain Dear performance when they all cosplayed of movie characters for a Halloween concert. It always creeps up at the back of my head whenever I listen to Dear purely bcoz of Sua, Siyeon, and Yooh's unserious love triangle skit (with their costumes on)
Cool fact about 'Break the wall' on the showcase they sang the song live with megaphone and i think they recorded the song with megaphones at the studio to get the distorted voices.
Break The Wall - There's a very nice live performance of Break The Wall with them using megaphones for the voice effects. th-cam.com/video/T4tJ4aofRBg/w-d-xo.html - Interesting observation about the water 🤔 Only I wouldn't associate it with cleansing (although the DC members do represent protectors who are looking to solve the hate problem), I would associate it with the raining of bad comments, the rain/hate will stick to you, drenches you. - It's pretty sad that being negative is "safe", while being positive is "risky" 😔 - It's such an inspirational, empowering song though 💪 Can't Get You Out Of My Mind - The EDM parts/drops in this song are so much fun to jump to in concerts 🤟😆 Dear - The lyrics were written by Jiu. - And like her, the song is very sweet and comforting 🧡
Nope. Dear was about the dedication and support from the fans. She had been writing it since 2019 (sang a snippet during deja vu promo). All day long was inspired by Yoohyeon telling her people should hug and share their pain when she was in a very bad place emotionally.
I don't think that Dreamcatcher song lyrics is about the group directly like Dreamcatcher personal struggles and stuffs but more about our society struggle in general. Remember most Dreamcatcher songs are not written by Dreamcather members directly but by their production teams, it's just happen that it's in the same direction the group want to go and want to talk about it. So i think that sometime you are maybe over-analyse it more the original message meaning lol. Just my thoughts though lol
Well, they write some of the song and I don't usually know which ones until after I react to them. But even for the song they don't write, I assume they picked them because they expressed the feelings and experiences they wanted
@@AntiSocialPlanet yeah, it’s true that the Dreamcatcher members has wrote or co-wrote some b-sides songs but so far all title track has been wrote by the production team. But, like I said the lyrics and concepts are more about the society problems rather the group problem like when they talk about haters they don’t talk about Dreamcatcher haters but more all haters in social media in general and like some haters comments can be so harsh in social media in K-pop that it has caused some K-pop idols to commit suicide. Let’s not forget too about the lore of the dystopia trilogy who turn about the tree of life who has been corrupted by the hate and madness in the social medias. It’s also true that Dreamcatcher had struggles in K-pop being a group doing more rock songs and was not liked by some in general, most of their song don’t talk about that directly like you would think but more about denouncing the world problem and try to save it lol. Well, that is what I understood from Dreamcatcher videos and interviews since 2018, the year I became a fan of Dreamcatcher. I’m saying my own vision and opinions from a fan to a other fan so hoping no offence done. On that peace out.
@@Drakis07 I'm mostly confused about your first comment. I wasn't trying to talk specifically about Dreamcatcher's experience (since I don't know them) nor did I think my comments came off that way
@@AntiSocialPlanet Maybe it’s me who misunderstood you when you tried to analyze the lyrics, you seemed to say that like in Boca it was Dreamcatcher saying you can talk against us but we don’t mind so you can shut up or something like that not sure it was a good example but I understood you saying that the lyrics was directly about what Dreamcatcher lived in K-pop. You telling me if I understood what you said or not. Anyway I guess maybe we see the sense of the lyrics differently. Also nice to have a discussion like that in the comments without being means 😉
@@Drakis07 Honestly, I assume I didn't explain myself well 😅 I also try to stay focused on the group that's in the reaction and not go on tangents about K-pop as a whole cause my videos are long enough already, so it's possible I focused in too much on Dreamcatcher
Or 'Can't get you out of my mind' could be a normal love song about a normal love story of a girl who have a boy in her mind but the boy seem to hesitate to go foward with the girl. lol Sometime, things are just that simple.

I forgot to mention the live band.
25:15 Siyeon really blows the last note away live!!! 🐺🎤🔥

Dreamcatcher Can NEVER Find My Channel
Thank you for your reaction to the album, I really enjoy your analysis
No crying! 😊❤
I can't help it 😭
When Jiu is in the writing credits, we always get the cutest songs
I love this song, and another great analysis, thank you!
Can't get you out of my mind is a bop and it makes me happy every time I listen to it
The lyrics are sad but hopeful

I don't know what it is about Gahyun in Can't get you out of my mind but my favourite parts are hers, I also really like Dami's
Break The Wall

Dear

jiu wrote dear inspired by yooh's hugging her when she had a bad day

Thank you for the clarification
JiU mainly writes love songs. To insomnias, to Yoohyeon and to Cherry.
I cannot listen to Break the Wall and not picture the special clip
