I own both but personally like Wallbox more. If Wallbox can manage to position itself in the home EV charger market like Ring did in the home security & surveillance market or iRobot in the robot vacuum cleaners market, Amazon may be interested in it.

Maybe! I could see Amazon interested in having their own home EV charging brand. Why do you feel Wallbox is a better fit for an Amazon acquisition than other brands?

      Pros:
      - Brand recognition. Arguably a top-3 brand in the us in the third-party (non-EV maker) home EV charger market.
      - The ratio of positive vs. negative customer reviews, comments on reddit posts, etc. on Pulsar Plus suggest that its owners are satisfied with its quality and reliability. With that being said, this is anecdotal and I haven’t done a rigorous statistical analysis to reach the conclusion.
      - Their Mobile app (iOS) has an average rating of 4.3, which is not bad for an EV charger company, although Chargepoint has a better rating at 4.5. This is in contrast to dumb chargers that does not even come with any apps.
      - A Spanish company run by an ex-Tesla executive, and not a Chinese company. Even though there are some formidable Chinese companies like Autel in the home EV charger market, Amazon wouldn’t want to acquire a Chinese company due to geopolitical concerns, cultural differences, and many other reasons.
      * Juicebox (Enel X) is another reputable brand in the home EV charger market, but it is a subsidiary of an Italian energy utility conglomerate Enel S.p.A. I don’t think that the parent company is considering selling Enel X.
      - A consumer brand selling household products without the operational complexity of providing installation, maintenance, and update services to charging stations. Wallbox can nicely integrate into Amazon’s existing platform.
      Cons:
      - IRA won’t give any protection against cheap Chinese competition in the home EV charger market. With that being said, Wallbox’s products are eligible for the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit of 30% up to $1,000.
      - Understandably, Amazon seems to prefer acquisition targets that they can snatch for under $2b when it comes to consumer brands. This means that even in the best case scenario of acquisition by Amazon, Wallbox’s upside potential is limited to roughly 225% (3.25x), given its current market cap of $618m and assuming that Amazon acquires it for $2b in the future. Given the near-term risk of another quarter or two of flat revenues and increasing competition, there may be better alternatives out there.

Great rundown, makes a lot of sense! I hadn't thought about Amazon possibly wanting a home charger before you brought it up. Wallbox does seem like a pretty good fit based on your reasons. Time will tell!
      Good luck!

Based on Amazon's sketch reputation for electric cables and appliances and such, I avoid them now for their private label electric products.
I'm okay with some of their flagship products like their Alexa, Echo, Ring and Kindle because those have a good track record, Amazon seems to put more care into the design and manufacturing of those (high profile, mass produced, more on the line).
I guess if they bought a company like Wallbox that might be okay for the same reasons... as long as it was properly UL listed of course, which I'm pretty sure it would be.
As for USB cables, microwaves and such, that's a hard no, and an earned hard no.
      Another great vid SP!
