Here's a little chemistry about Gels. Gels form clumps when they are combined with other products that are not compatible. Most hair products like moisturizers, hair creams and leave-ins are emulsions (a mixture of an oil phase and water phase), adding a gel to that can cause it to become unstable and precipitate or create residue. You can test the compatibility of your gel with your other hair products by first rubbing them together in your hands. If it starts to feel gritty you shouldn't apply it to your hair. What about those with big face and short hair? You're the only one I've heard talk about head shape and face shape. When I tell ppl this they think I'm crazy. Flattering styles vary by head shape face shape as well as clothes in some cases.
People don't tell tips or how things work in detail when it comes to their craft or field is because they don't want you to learn it, use it against them when it comes to how much they charge, and/or so you do take that skill and use it to make money. The majority of people believe if your making money then they are making less which is obviously a delusional concept.
