I grew up on the great music of the 60's-70's. CCR has always been one of my favorites. They don't have a bad song! John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. All their songs are great - "Proud Mary", "Born On The Bayou", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Lodi", "Green River", "Commotion", "Night Time Is The Right Time", "Down On The Corner", "Fortunate Son", "Cotton Fields", "Midnight Special", "Travelin' Band", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "Up Around the Bend", "Run Through The Jungle", "Lookin' Out My Back Door", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Suzie Q", "I Put A Spell On You", "Sweet Hitch-Hiker" etc.
Many people who listened to the song on a transistor AM radio (like me, for instance) heard the chorus to this song as "There's a bathroom on the right." Eventually, in concert, John Fogerty sang it that way. For another CCR song concerning something that hasn't changed, you might want to listen to the song "Fortunate Son."
Just a quick recommendation, but check out Cake's 'Fashion Nugget' album from the mid to late 90's. The whole album is good, but my personal fav is 'Frank Sinatra' from that album
This song has been used frequently in ads and movies. Often it's just the first few rifts of guitar in an ad, but I remember it was played in the movie American Werewolf in London. Of course when he was turning into the beast. lol
This song was part of the soundtrack from a classic comedy horror film, *An American Werewolf,* directed by *John Landis,* also directed animal House and The Blues brothers 😎
You are so right about these lyrics from back in the day are so true to what is going on in the world today. Thanks for actually listening to and understanding the lyrics because I have seen a lot of the reaction videos and I just have to laugh because they got the lyrics so wrong to what they actually meant. Love your reaction!
So glad you are back! Must mean babies and mom are doing well? I hope so and that the girls big brother is excited and that you are getting enough sleep!
My mother was with me when this came on the radio and she thought they were saying; "There's a bathroom on the right.". (Tell me I'm adopted.")

History repeats itself. Things care not good now!
Thank you for your service Sir!

Back then, to be a good musician, you actually needed to be able to sing. Most popular artists also knew how to play one or more instruments.

Creedence Clearwater Revival's song: "Fortunate Son" is a classic with a strong message.

This song was written in the late 60s during the civil rights and anti-war movements that were rocking the US.
You can say this is Timeless...and it can adapt to the current situations in this country ........
