Dude, thank you for a thorough discussion of your experiences with this bike. Since I, too, am in the US and can't try a Nukeproof I have to rely on the internet. Your video (and the posted text!) have helped me understand the bike a lot more (and I'm even more excited now). Thanks.
It's such a rad bike, and glad the video was helpful to you. I rode Trestle Bike Park yesterday on this thing, and it RIPS! I was very impressed with how it handled downhill. Highly recommend this bike. Hope you can get one eventually!
@@CobraKyle I got the impression that these bikes are hard to beat in a park, but like nearly all of us, most actual riding's done on trails like those in the first part of the video. Do you feel overbiked or that those trails are deadened on this bike?
Sick bike! I'm all about the shorter travel 29ers for this area. I was bottoming out occasionally when going down blue rock and hitting some drops, but I swapped in a slightly larger volume spacer, and now it's perfect
I had that issue with the fork when I first got it. Put in 3 volume spacers, and I have to hit super hard to bottom it out now. Short travel for the win around here....it's great!
Ive got the 2020 Reactor 290C Elite and i love it, its a blast and has been able to handle everything ive thrown at it here in FL and my recent trip to GA and TN.
Very cool! I just took mine to Trestle, and it absolutely rips downhill! I was shocked! Have you weighed your bike by any chance? I'm curious how much the carbon version weighs.
@@CobraKyle yes double hurricanes was all you 🤣 I'm pit of town this weekend for my bday. We will definitely ride soon. Just name the place and time. We have been going to FLATROCK on wednesday
Also the slow getting up to speed is probably more 29er wheels. When I switched a looong time ago from 26 to 29(10 years ago) it was definitely noticeably slower to get up to speed but the trade offs are worth it.
Thanks Kenny! The wheels are a bit of the problem I would say too. I have been on some lighter 29ers though and haven't noticed it as much. I think I'll just get stronger rather than buying a carbon wheelset lol
140/130 is the perfect amount of travel for our region. If I could only have one bike, it would be a 140/130 full suspension. But since I can have more than one... build a stable! Glad to see another voice saying to get the bike that is best for your area and riding style. If your trails are 90 percent XC, an Enduro rig may not be the best choice and vice versa.
Totally agree! My stable has been shrinking lately, but I think I'm just making room for new bikes. I think a lot of people get in their heads that more travel is always better no matter what, but like you said....gotta assess the trails around you!
Great👍 i ride a 27.5 hardtail and thinking about to ad the Reactor. Pretty unsure about the wheel size. Glad to hear that you have the same fun with 29
Glad your diggin the new bike! I filmed my new bike video at the same section of OP too. It’s a great place to test out a new suspension. I didn’t hit that huge rock drop tho ☠️ lol.
Thanks man! You'll have to send that rock drop someday! It's pretty fun and not as intimidating as it looks once you hit it. See you on the trails man! I know to keep an eye out for that Polygon.
I recognize a lot of these locations around SA! I don't recognize any of those wooden features though, where are they, if you dont mind sharing your secrets!
Hi Christopher. Those wood features are near Parkwood on the Leon Creek Greenway. They are fairly new. There is a long steep fireroad you can climb just south of Parkwood and it will take you straight to those wood features. It's a fun little area!
Really happy you posted this video, I too am looking for a new bike coming from a 100mm xc bike I was wanting a lot more travel but now I am thinking I need less....... Decisions decisions
So many good bikes available right now. I think the travel range on this Reactor is the sweet spot. I just rode Trestle Bike Park yesterday, and this thing was amazing!
Hi I just went and measured it. It's right around 340mm. That's in the "trail" geometry setting. Their website says the "rail" setting drops it by 6mm, so around 334mm.
Thank you! I would totally recommend this bike. The Jeffsy sold within 12 hours of my posting it to a local buddy. Happy to see him have it cause he rips!
Thanks! As far as shifting goes I can't tell a huge difference between the two. They both work well. The shifter paddle I had on my Jeffsy was a bit nicer build quality, but it was an X1 shifter which is fairly nice. When I got this, the climbing gear was 51 teeth which was largest at the time, but now SRAM eagle has 52 teeth lol. If you were deciding between the two, I think it would really just come down to which offers the most weight savings. I wanted to try Shimano to see if it was an obvious difference in performance, and I truly can't say there is one.
Love it! Congrats. Stay cool, it's scorching hot in SA right now. By the way, the link to your shirts is not working. I bet adding to the beginning will make it clickable.
Thanks a lot! It's incredibly hot. I've been trying to start my rides at 7 or 8am and be done by 10 or 11. Appreciate the heads up on the t-shirt link. I'll get that fixed!
A few comments: I want that fork on my bike. (Silver Banshee Prime - it'd look soooo sweet.) Damn, that's heavy. And those Hunt wheels seem really affordable - how they been?
Yeah the silver fork looks sweet! Black forks are soooooo boring lol. The Hunt wheels are great! Good engagement, very durable and have had no issues with them. I think I paid right around $400 for them, so I'm very happy. I imagine they are adding to my weight issue, but would rather have tough wheels than light ones.
Cobra Kyle they’re only just over 2000g - not too shabby actually for those! I think my i9 “enduro s” wheels are like 1800 or so. All in all, pretty sick bike!
Bloopers!! Dude you ride so good on this bike. Really stoked you're enjoying it. Let's see what this bad boy can take!
Thanks man. I ride so good on EVERY BIKE lol. I think Colorado will be the perfect testing ground!

Sorry just seeing this. Carbon build set up tubeless weighs 32lbs. Not the lightest bike.
@@srqFF 32 I could live with! I'm working on a video now about cutting weight from it, so hopefully it feels more responsive.
It's not the size of the travel that matters... its how you use it! Great video and another great round of bloopers!
So true and profound! Thanks man.
SICK Build!!! Time to break it in at Angel Fire! My fuel was a 140/130 but changed to a 150 up front. And love it.
I'm doing Trestle in a couple weeks. I don't think I'm gonna make Angel Fire this year :(
@@CobraKyle booo
Good video. I'm in the Austin area, have been looking for a nukeprpof and didn't know about velorangutan. Can't wait to check them out.
Thanks Cory! I was stoked to find a Nukeproof dealer in Austin since they were sold-out just about everywhere else.
Ultimate super deluxe review! Rad!
Thanks Matt! Maybe I'll send it to RockShox so they can explain the true origins of their names.
So you are the reason for the hurricanes..miss riding with you brotha. Glad to see all is well
New bike and van means double hurricane! Miss you too buddy. Let's go ride soon! I just got back into town.
@@CobraKyle yes double hurricanes was all you 🤣 I'm pit of town this weekend for my bday. We will definitely ride soon. Just name the place and time. We have been going to FLATROCK on wednesday

Thank you! I'm loving it!
That is my ideal build! Also not really into carbon but love shimano. Looking good!

@@CobraKyle I was guilty of that as well. Power of TH-cam and bike mags. Lol

I'm loving 29" wheels. I honestly have very little desire to go back to 27.5" now.
"Oh this sucks... Taller than I thought." BAHAHAHAHA I feel that brother! Great review man! Had to check out yours real quick too! Great build!
I appreciate it Mr. Sendies!

Great cool, greetings from the Indonesian bicycle shop
Greetings! Thanks for watching!
Love how this bike looks, I think I’m gonna go for it...
Thanks! I highly recommend this bike. It hasn't disappointed me at all!

I have a hard tail so that is 130mm more than I had before
Should have rode the Jeffsy in the high setting, it’s perfect for San Antonio trails!
I'm not sure why I never tried it that way lol.
140 130 plenty!!
I agree! I'm actually already researching bikes with less travel lol. I'm loving the shorter travel over my previous bike.
Woohoo new bike!! I already have a chip on mine where the frame protector doesn’t cover🤦🏼♀️
It's frustrating right?!
Cobra Kyle incredibly! This is my first carbon bike (still have an aluminum road bike 😆), so I’m paranoid.
Can you tell me a bb hight, from the ground to the crankset middle. Big thanks.

Ah new bike day... in the words of Bono, "it's a beautiful day!"
I can't get this song out of my head now lol
Sorry if you already posted this, but you share your height, maybe inseam to help us judge sizing for the Reactor? Thanks!
Hi Mike! I'm 6' tall with a 32" inseam and the Large fits really well for me.
How tall are you and what size frame did you buy? How does it feel size wise?
Wes Williams
Nice choice of bike! I was thinking of getting on of those too. Did you sell the Jeffsy?
Thank you! I would totally recommend this bike. The Jeffsy sold within 12 hours of my posting it to a local buddy. Happy to see him have it cause he rips!
Super Deluxe Ultimate Lame! im rolling lmfao
That's exactly what RockShox will say if they see this video haha.
Good call for the custom Reactor! How would you compare shimano to sram drivetrain?

Sweet bike, Filming bloopers the struggle of a TH-camr lol.
Thanks! It's incredible how much a struggle it can be to read a line of scripted dialogue, then say it out loud lol.
Just wait for the superdupper deluxe ultra mega 😂
Hopefully they start taking their product names from Mortal Kombat fatalities.
your clutch isn't on
Lol yeah thanks. I realized it eventually. Much better now!
