ThE idea of "the flesh is weak, or vile" is what puts people off Christianity. People don't like to be told they are vile! They are "a little lower than the angels" "created in God's image." There used to be (and possibly still is) a Church of Satan on the Web. They were not really satanic. They preached that a human being is fallible, but essentially good. That put them at odds with many Christians.
"Resisting" reinforces temptation in your habits. Every time it rears its head, substitute in your thinking, positive thoughts about what you would rather be. Gradualy, they will take prominence, replacing your old patterns. This does not replace prayer; it makes prayer more effective Be careful to distinguish temptation from sin. A woman successfully fought off a temptation to commit a sex sin. "But I desired it" she said, "and one who lusts after another has committed adultery already in his heart." The pastor was unable to change her mind, so he took her into the church, and told her she was forgiven.
I have a Qustion, is drinking bad? Bc Jesus did drink so is it a sin or is it one of those things that it's only bad if you do it to much ? Same with weed?
It's a pretty presumptuous statment to say that women like their wine. How about clarifying to identify those wimen who like their wine. Rather than making a false blanket statment.
Wage war against the flesh by the power of Jesus. It will be a struggle, but when you win you will realize that it will all be worth it.
