Great video! You do great drive throughs of campgrounds. Love how you label the sites. I am looking to visit Rocky Mountain National Park next June but I know it can be difficult to get reservations in the campgrounds. I have a 21’ overall travel trailer and a half ton pickup. Any particular state park or forest service type campground you would recommend if I can’t get reservations or choose not to stay inside the NP? I prefer no hookups and either lots of trees or a view of sorts mountain river stream etc although none of that is necessary. Thanks for your input!
In Northeast Colorado, I think State Forest State Park may fit your camping style because it is one of the more remote and primitive State Parks in Colorado. If you are willing to travel south of Denver, take a look at my Eleven Mile Canyon video. Eleven Mile Canyon is a very unique campground in a gorgeous setting, and has some great gold medal trout fishing.
I forgot I was also going to ask can a guy get to State Forest State park from the North East or would it be wise to go to Denver then West and North as you showed in the video? I am coming from North Dakota
It is very difficult to approach State Forest from the east because there are few roads that go over the spine of the Rockies. (Rocky Mountain National Park is directly east of State Forest.). If you get to Walden, CO from Wyoming that may be the best approach from the north. Watch the weather carefully, but then you are probably use to that coming from ND.
