Yerevan is really cool, enjoy! We went to Anteb restaurant which I would recommend trying! It was near my hostel which also does good tours if you want to try them (Envoy Hostel)

Yay thanks! Always looking for recommendations! I'm off to Azat Reservoir tomorrow, so I'm excited to get out the city and see what's going on in Armenia

I recommend Anteb for their lamajuns and Mayrig for their "sini monte" and chicken khorovats plate.

I think a lot of people would benefit from getting a breakdown of general expenses and cost of living (low, mid, and high range).

Thanks for the suggestion! Yerevan definitely feels like central European prices and has been the most expensive city I've visited in the last 3 months. I was told Tbilisi in Georgia is cheaper - I'll be there in October!

@Lumos Maxima at the end of the day it all depends on budget. When exploring Yerevan, it's easy to stay within the ring road where it is the same prices as western Europe but I know further out it is cheaper. I've been in Dilijan the last 3 days which was cheaper and very pleasant. Yerevan is a capital city after all.

I was in Yerevan this summer and couldn’t believe how expensive it was compared to the other ex Soviet countries. It’s UK prices. £3 for a coffee and the supermarkets aren’t any cheaper than the UK

Completely agree!! That was one of the reasons I went to Georgia so soon but even Tblisi has gone up in price in the last few weeks!

Prices have gone up here due to big waves of immigration and the local currency has appreciated by a lot which makes a big difference.

You could reat that title a few different (unflattering to Armenia) ways. I'd change it tbh.

Baku is Middle Eastern looking. A little like Dubai in the city centre, but still looks Middle Eastern because of the religion.
