One of the best GMs I ever played with was keen on amateur theatre, and had a good sense of humour to boot. A great combination. This was in my teenage years in my old hometown, so I haven't seen him in decades. Here's to you, Torbjörn, if you for some reason ever stumble across this. :)
02:25 aka: Playing a game like Cities Skylines, Dawn of Man, Banished etc. Note: Magnus said "he wanted to play" and suddenly has a Quest Giving Character with days of work put into his backstory? Magnar (please note how close it is to Magnus) Buckethead was Magnus' PLAYER CHARACTER which he quickly repurposed for the Game. Also explains why the character has stats (Magnus probably mainly concentrated on the stuff he needed to know to PLAY rather than run it and then didn't think of removing the stats) and might also add a bit of an explanation to why Magnus is so... annoyed.
D100s DO exist, but they're wildly impractical. It's like rolling a heavy golf ball and waiting for it to stop on one of the dimples. More of a novelty item than anything else.
This is the best special. It's even better as a ttrpg fan. Each character really embodies player tropes. The rules lawyer telling the Game Master how the game works is very common.
in the lore Altdorf does have an Imperial Zoo with a dragon :) as for the upstaged anger im guessing thats because the Emperor prefers to ride his pet Griffon, Deathclaw over a dragon lol.
To be fair. Its said in the Lore that riding a dragon is as likely to get you killed as your enemies if youmare not an elf. It just may be the matter of gryphins being more tame-able and less agressive than dragons. Despise gryphin’s being part cats. Goddamn cats.
@@michasalamon8315 Griffons in Warhammer are pretty Feral too, its considered entertainment to watch young full of themselves nobles try and break a Demigryph Steed. The Dragon is generally pretty tame, usually sleeping in the Zoo, except for the rare occasion he goes for a fly and causes a panic. so that might be the reason, Dragons sleep for Aeons even elves cant wake their dragons in Caledor on a whim.
@@smellslikeburny The Dragon also loves it there and considers the city to be part of its hoard. Free meals, constant praising from peasants and even treated as royalty from the Empire itself. Funny part is how almost all of them are an example of ‘That Guy.’ But they play out satisfyingly. Big E: Minmaxing Power Fantasy asshole who argues with the DM at almost every turn. But comes up with a decent idea or two that isn’t trying to break the game. Decius the Donghat: Edgelord who takes himself waaay to seriously crossed with guy who puts his real life grievances in game. He gets no attention or validation for being an ass. The Chronicler: Textbook murderhobo, nuff said. Dies from his own murderous stupidity. Karstodes: The guy who has no idea and never bothered to read the rules. But once he gets into it he tries and has some fun. Provost Marshal: The guy who memorised the rulebook. Also gets a good roleplay moment and gets into the game rather than trying to crack down on every single bending of the rules. Magnus: The railroading murderous GM who gets thoroughly trounced once he decides to be a vengeful and petty bugger. Rogal: The one-dimensional/one-note character who really can’t roleplay a character. But he doesn’t derail the whole damn thing with it. Karl: Troll who annoys everyone with his weird schtick/fetish but his style of fun ends up being a decent motive for more serious players once he dies and said weird fetish plays a role in the party’s victory.
@@THEDERPYARBITER Yea, but when Big E comes to scrap with him, he just says it's Slaanesh, and Slaanesh would probably love the pounding after. Heresy and trolling. Just as planned
Being a DM to what i what consider a dysfunctional party, for normal DnD. I can confirm a lot of useful people dying is the norm. Expect it. In worst case they stab each other. Fun fact: i fixed most of those problems by giving out curses for counter productive behaviour. Like our bard got sheep whisperer but also had to have 40ish sheep around him at any given time. Giving me the means to keep him in places i desired without taking his direct control.
Can confirm, D100's are a thing. So are D60's, they're about the size of a golf ball and the triangular sides are barely distinguishable from one another. And yet, it works
Speaking as a DM having to know everyone’s classes, their abilities and keeping track of things they can and cannot do is hard but honestly is also fun i’ve personally taken a brake from DMing but regardless it’s still very fun
Anyone else here who got massive Karl the Deranged - Warhammer: Ravandils quest flashbacks from that backtrack and general theme? (It's a must see after this special!)
If you role any duplicate numbers on the dice when you cast warp magic, it invokes Tzeentch's curse. Also, if you want to try your hand at the old Fantasy Flight Warhammer Fantasy/40k RPG's, your best bet is to download the PDFs online, because getting hold of the physical copies of the books is ludricrously expensive now, since they're not in print anymore.
this is one of my favorite creations of the Alfa legion they also made a video game "Tales of the Alfa Legion" (japanese rpg style) that is fun and worth playing 1 or 2 times.
Dracula didn't name Alucard Alucard, he named him Adrian Tepes. It was the rest of vampire high society that called him Alucard due to perceiving him as the opposite of his father.
I just realized why Dorn hated saying "fortifying this iron cage" it was because of the battle of the Iron Cage against Perturabo.
DMing will harden your improv skills to levels you never thought possible.
Reading this, makes one truly, _truly_ wish there were stories of Colin Mochrie or Ryan Stiles as DMs.
yes

Look less to Gary Gygax, more to Del Close.
I really love how much character the stripstodies and High Lords get in this one

I love how Karstodes' character is a normal guy because he couldn't read his character sheet lmao
Hands down the special from TTS
I must have watched this special 20 times, and I'll gladly do it again! It's so good!
D100s DO exist, but they're wildly impractical. It's like rolling a heavy golf ball and waiting for it to stop on one of the dimples. More of a novelty item than anything else.
really? I thought those were just a sight-gag because obviously you would use 2 D10s to make a percentile role
I have one made of solid brass in my collection.
Probably my favorite special episode. Absolutely hilarious that the emperor roleplays a demi god woman who can't cast spells.
Oh Yeah! My favorite TTS special
Stellaris one is also good
Well, this Bucked head is a reference to the "Ravindils quest" videos from Karl the deranged

If you want a little context to magnar referring to a "shitty elf" and this "warpstone of devastation"
Then you might want check out ravandil's quest.
You have no idea how long I've waited for this episode to come out

looks like bruva alfabusa took a few cues and lessons from "terrible writing advice" by J.P Beaubien
,,As a GM you have to prepare atleast for a week...,,
XD Sure we do XD
"If that shitty elf were here"
Lol, Ravendil gets a mention.
I am pretty sure Magnus based the ogre after Russ...this special is perfect.
Well considering his undying hatred to the Armored Furballs I say this makes sense 😅
This always reminds me of so many evenings spend with roleplaying.
Commenting before I have had the time to watch the video, but I think a lot of us was looking forward to this. :)
Just like when we tried to pissed off the GM
6 is the number of Tzeentch, so that crit failure checks out. And his Daemon Primarch gets to decide what happens
Isn't 9 the number of tzeentch?

You laugh at Dorn literal naming sense but do remember in history some people did the same. Example is Laguna which means a lake or lagoon.

As a GM I prepare NOTHING. Because the players cannot ruin the plan if there is no plan.
Magnus didn't prepare to GM cause he wanted to play Buckethead was his PC

you talking about divinity original soul 2, made me realise ive spend 80hrs in 2 weeks just playing death stranding at release

Damn, I can't wait for the second part of this reaction
Dorn definitely plays HOI4 and Civilization.
I think you're one of the few react-er who immediately pointed out Rogal's fantastic character naming skills lol
a d100 is usually 2 dice, each with 10 sides ;)
Rogal dorn just treversed his name?! I just noticed that!!!
Dracula didn't name Alucard Alucard, he named him Adrian Tepes. It was the rest of vampire high society that called him Alucard due to perceiving him as the opposite of his father.
Kräkus is the last dying wising breath of that horrid joke
Okay if TTS comes back who else is for Guilliman being based on Magnar Buckethead.
D100s are an actual thing, but they are just spheres
8:04- He can't read his character sheet.
I want to play Divinity Ego draconis again
Is dorn just eating lemons with the skin on?
Hundred sided dice are real
There are d100 dice they are almost spheres.
Guess there are 100 sided dice
Hey, if you made a Discord you could organize a session of this very game in a site like Roll20 or so with us your humble followers
Mang, ye dont NEED to know the mechanics to enjoy the story ^.^
d100s are real
Comment for the algorithm.
