    I knew I had seen a tutorial on how to use this feature somewhere, but I couldn’t find again. So I wasted HOURS on a big project doing everything manually… I wish I had found this video before bothering on my project, it’s straight to the point and clearly explained.

    Why isn't anybody pointing out that 2:04 is false? The layer can be above one or even more layers above and it still references the reference layer. It does not have to be below.

    Is there a way I’m able to colour/shade without having to drag and drop a colour first?

    Is there any way to make the drop color use a specific brush or lower the opacity? I like the concept but I need a more transparency in the color.

    could you not merge the blue and red layers as one then shade on that?

    Can the reference layer be anywhere please? I experimented with my color layer above and below the reference layer and all worked good. But you have your color layer below the reference layer? Any reason for that please?

      I was using the doodroo protector I don’t have one on now tho I just got a new iPad and never put one on.
      I think I have a discount for doodroo in the video description.

    Thank you very much, in my case I did it like you showed it. Unfortunately the color drop fills the whole page, although I put reference and the layers correct and the lines are closed. Cannot understand it. My reference options seems not to work right in procreate? It would be a great option because for my animations.

      Somewhere a line must be open by just a pixel .. sometimes it’s hard to close them especially if you are using a small brush to line with.

      I’m having the same problem too and I can’t find a point where the circle I drew is opened
      I wonder what is the problem. I read another comment in another video that claimed that this is an issue that started happening to them after an update 7 months ago

    • @dolphinman09
      @dolphinman09 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion, it's a software problem, because I use procreate since a long time. Now, when I color, I multiply the line work layer, an make under this a 75 % layer for coloring, That works, needs more time, but not so much as coloring with reference layer. Greetings.

      @@dolphinman09 I managed to find some kind of work around. So the layer is basically a couple of rings, I used the “automatic selection tool” and that seemed to be the ONLY way for it to color it for me WITH the reference layer

    to be fair, I don't really understand why Procreate won't allow you to refer to multiple layers. Referring to multiple layers is a huge time saver and not having this feature is the reason why I transfer all my line art to other programs like Clip Studio Pro to color and shade.
