Just that instead of things like minced meat I use lentils or a meat alternative, vegan cheeses are fine now. I'd actually say, I became more of a foodie than I was before. When it comes to convenience in the supermarket or eating out, I can't remember the last time I struggled with anything.

Also, the vegan community articulated the existential dilemma graphically on film and in conversation. There is a certain amount of fear in such a dietary transition. Those of us who have transformed ourselves of course find it relatively simple after perhaps a year or so. We have less nightmares and more moral integrity.

I admire and respect all the animal activists who go out of their way to educate with the truth. I have been an ethical and healthy vegan for nearly 13 yrs( i am nearly 69), and none of my family over the yrs ( i have 3 grown up sons) have done the same except my close friend who went and stayed vegetarian and one of my three sisters went veggie. Its great to see male vegan activists educating and informing people with the vile and cruel industries which have brain washed and conditioned us all for many many decades now. To plant a truth seed is essential in life and it is how we have made progress and advanced over time. I have had many many discussions with my family over the years about the cruel and vile meat dairy and egg industries but it all falls on deaf ears and their reluctance to change. Its very frustrating and upsetting to think that i have not managed to influence and educate anyone in my own family and probably never will. Education done in the right way as in activism on the streets and in schools/colleges, is very important and the truth about the farming industries need to be shown and taught, and the earlier the better so that the younger generation can teach the older ones how to live better and kinder lives. Well done to all the truth tellers of this world.

You do realise as a species, we require animal protein and fat and cholesterol? I was WFPB vegan for 10 years until I got very very ill. Changed it up to a lot of meat and then very near carnivore… boom. I feel like I did back in my 20s. Energy, muscle, gut health, sleeping etc. all come back. Snoring stopped in first week. Animals don't respect our right to live so we don't have to respect theirs. Despite that, we grant them rights out of compassion (something they lack for others outside their family). We decide what rights we want to give them. That doesn't include the right to live without being eaten.
Hi Keifer, thanks for your comment. I understand the logic you're using and on the surface it seems to make sense! But unfortunately this line of thinking justifies all sorts of horrors on those we deem to "not respect our right to live", not to mention it would technically include human infants, who of course have no concept of rights. We are fortunate to have the ability to make moral decisions, and thankfully most people think humans and animals who are capable of pain and suffering are worthy of protection.

Humans who choose not to respect our right to live are themselves subsequently stripped of their rights. Namely their right to freedom (by going to prison) or their own right to live in some cases (by facing capital punishment). Those who simply are unable to understand our right to live (infants, the mentally insane, etc) are pardoned because they cannot be held responsible for their actions. Humans of sound mind, by default, understand reciprocity of rights. No other species does this at all towards even their own species (aside from their immediate family), let alone to other species.

David, I don't see this man having much cognition and intelligence, which is actually just based on the capacity to solve problems relevant to one's own particular species. Also just saying "I don't care" doesn't justify an action. I don't get why people are so smug when asked basic questions about the treatment of animals. Nah we didn't win any battles, we can however be kind and compassionate and stop contributing to the torture of animals. Living vegan today is extremely easy! Animals do NOT have to die.
You do realise as a species, we require animal protein and fat and cholesterol? I was WFPB vegan for 10 years until I got very very ill. Changed it up to a lot of meat and then very near carnivore… boom. I feel like I did back in my 20s. Energy, muscle, gut health, sleeping etc. all come back. Snoring stopped in first week. So, this vegan thing is nonsense. It’s all feelings and guilt trips. Would you tell a koala to stop eating gum leaves coz you believe they shouldn’t eat gum trees? Meat is what we need as a species
@@amac5224 There are around 80 million vegans on the planet, doing just fine, most of us make it through the day without fainting from protein deficiency. Maybe if you had gone vegan for the animals, not for your health, you may have been more invested in it and tried a bit harder to make it work.

If it had nothing to do with feelings, there would be absolutely no reason that animal agriculture would hide what they do to animals. There would be no reason the average meat-eating person doesn't want to see what happens to animals. There is no reason why anybody would care in the slightest that they are "killed nicely".If "meat" is what we "need" as a species, every single meat commercial would show slaughterhouse footage as it would stimulate the appetite of this supposed genetic, obligate meat-eating species that you claim humans to be, thus increasing sales....but for some reason they don't do that. Animals don't respect our right to live so we don't have to respect theirs. Despite that, we grant them rights out of compassion (something they lack for others outside their family). We decide what rights we want to give them. That doesn't include the right to live without being eaten.

I understand the logic you're using and on the surface it seems to make sense! But unfortunately this line of thinking justifies all sorts of horrors on those we deem to "not respect our right to live", not to mention it would technically include human infants, who of course have no concept of rights.
We are fortunate to have the ability to make moral decisions, and thankfully most people think humans and animals who are capable of pain and suffering are worthy of protection.

Humans who choose not to respect our right to live are themselves subsequently stripped of their rights. Namely their right to freedom (by going to prison) or their own right to live in some cases (by facing capital punishment).
Those who simply are unable to understand our right to live (infants, the mentally insane, etc) are pardoned because they cannot be held responsible for their actions.
Humans of sound mind, by default, understand reciprocity of rights. No other species does this at all towards even their own species (aside from their immediate family), let alone to other species.

David, I don't see this man having much cognition and intelligence, which is actually just based on the capacity to solve problems relevant to one's own particular species. How many challenging problems of survival has this man solved on his own? Animals need far more brain power just to survive one day in the jungle. They don't need Wi-fi and cell phones to communicate, they have telepathy and sonar and their own languages. Humans just like to think they're smarter out of pure arrogance and bias, yet that theory is proven wrong constantly.
