- Instead of driving to IKEA like a normal person, I decided to go there by UBER and try to squeeze a new mattress and some other random furniture into the car. It worked for me when I walked across the street to the mall to get things for my kitchen, so why not. Here's me trying to furnish my new, old, apartment condo and finally moving into my new home here in in Kyiv, Ukraine.

It is so strange watching your videos now, knowing the horror that is going on in Ukraine as we speak. I have been enjoying your story. I hope your places somehow survive ok. I know you got out ok. Nice apartment. You should do a vlog on the Gorodetsky House (also called the House of the Chimaeras), it is located just northeast of your building, but mostly uphill, in the government zone. Somehow all you vloggers have missed it.

Just an idea to have a Murphy bed to make the optimal use of space.
Man, undrinkable, completely! No way, especially in the center and in Podil district. Only ordered water, you can have 2 huge 18,5 lit bottles for 150 uah. And filtered water is for cooking only dont drink from that filter. And yep, congrats, awesome content!

If I had vlogged moving in to my brand new apartment in Tunisia it would have given this video a huge run for its money. I rented with only $100 down and roughly $375 for the first month's rent. BRAND NEW, never lived in two bedroom flat on the third floor of a new building over a new Carrefour!! It was a bit of a pain navigating the utilities and shopping for a flat top range, refrigerator and furniture. But it all worked out great and for the 4 months I stayed there I slept on a sponge on the floor and had WiFi from the coffee shop downstairs. I really miss Tunis. 2 hours from Istanbul. These videos bring me back to my travels through Istanbul to Tunisia and Nigeria.

ALWAYS WASH sheets/bedding, towels, clothes (including underwear/socks) BEFORE USING!!!!! lol

They do, but I wanted the mattress the next day and not next week. Plus shipping was expensive.
What net yield do you get from the apartments and how easy to manage the airbnb aspect?
In Kiev, around 10-15% yields. You can hire an Airbnb manager.

Hey man, that $7 water kettle is terrible. My hotel had that one, smelt like burning plastic. Sometimes you get what you pay for. And, the closest thing to Amazon in Ukraine is Rozetka.
I've used it for some time now, it smells fine thankfully, but takes forever to boil the water. I hate Rozetka by the way, it's more like Aliexpress than Amazon even.

Yes they are fantastic, super comfortable to sleep on. A bit small though, but really good to sleep on.

Water is Kyiv is not drinkable.I got an infection. The jug filter thing doesn't work either.Better install a water RO system directly or buy water.

Did you have any problems opening a bank account in Ukraine to fund this deal? I heard banks are starting to deny opening accounts for U.S. citizens as they don't want to deal with new IRS reporting requirements and it's not worth the hassle for them as they're relatively few Americans
Yes, that's why my lawyer had to call around first to find one who would agree to what we needed.
