Thanks for the comparo. I just bought a Highball and it's so QUIET! It sounds like a sewing machine. From the vid it doesn't look like the rippers are just overly obnoxious (which I am trying to avoid) but also not lame like stock. Did you also do the anger management with these? I like the fact that they provide tuning options.
How is the heat from these pipes? I have a kingpin that has octane pipes on it. They sound good but if I get stuck in traffic they burn my leg! I want the sound but not the heat
dude...i wanted the breakout so bad, but your bike looks so badass i'm so convinced i'll probably get victory hammer 8 ball too and the way you customized it. loved the handle bars and pipes. did you change the size of your front tire? how much did it cost you in all? the reason i ask so i can save to get it all decked out.
The front tire is stock. The bike was $14,500 back in 2012. With all the customization (handle bars, grips, mirrors, PCV, pipes, K&N air filter kit, and my new blacked-out led headlight kit that's not in the video) I spent about $2000.
Not really. That being said I wouldn't recommend them for anybody who is very small in stature and consider themselves physically weak. You don't need to be able to bench 300 pounds to control one but at the same time opening a jar of pickles shouldn't be an issue either for someone who wants to ride one.
Do you still have the hammer ? I've been thinking about either the Vegas or the 8 ball seems the only difference is the rear tire from what I can tell been on sport bikes all my life but my knees are telling me it's time for a cruiser and ive fell in love with the victory
Hey Rell. I'm not getting rid of it any time soon. The Hammer and Vegas have different size front and rear tires, forks, seats, front and rear fenders, tail lights and different shaped gas tanks. A month ago I saw a 2013 Hammer 8 Ball on craigslist with 2k miles for $9k! There's great deals out there! Look around.
Rell Wynne if you like Victory bikes? Check the Vegas Jackpot!! It’s another bike with fat back tire and it looks a little better than the hammer in my opinion?? I have a 2011 Jackpot in gloss black and chrome with swept exhaust the sounds good and is fast for a cruiser.
Hello. Good video! I have a hammer s with factory exhaust. I like your exhaust. If I buy like your exhaust what can I do more with my bike? Do I change anything in my bike? Thanks your answer.
SilaZoli Hi. Yes, you will need to also buy a power commander or similar fuel controller. Then, either use a pre-mapped setting on the fuel controller OR get it dyno-tuned at a shop.
+derek evans I'm 6' tall, 200 lb. It requires a little more effort to turn than a bike with a more narrow rear tire, obviously. But it's really not bad at all. I'm so used to the bike now, it's not an issue anymore. I'm concentrating more on not scraping the foot pegs while turning hard.
+1wallymack Thanks for the info really appreciate your time responding! I am coming from riding a Suzuki GSXR 1000 and now I am getting to an age where i am starting to look silly riding a sport bike. But looking at your bike and the way you ride it seems like going from a GSXR to a Hammer should be really fun. I am only 5'10" with a 31-32" inseam so I shouldn't have a problem with reach on a Hammer. Have you done any other mods since you last posted your vid?
You're welcome. I know you won't have any trouble reaching the controls. It's designed for a rider around our height. My bike still looks exactly the same, no new mods. Although in the future, I might change out the speedo to a smaller black one...not sure yet. It depends on how much work it requires.
+derek evans I ride a Vegas 8-ball, same reach as the hammer. I am 5'3" and have a 29" inseam, I can reach and touch without issues. And yes, you can easily drag a peg or the stock pipes on these bikes.
The pipes at the beginning of the video are the stock pipes. The baffles ARE NOT removed. The aftermarket swept pipes (at 0:13) are called Rippers, made by Hacker Pipes.
I’m trying to find some curved pipes like these for my 2012 hammer but all I find is straight like the stock ones. All the ones I find only fit the Vegas, highball. Ugh.
Hello! What do you make on your Victory ? I like your bike and want to do the same.. wich tire and size you use? looks pretty nice! your videos was buying reason for my hammer 8 ball :D
+Stiegltrinker Thanks for watching and I'm glad that my videos are helping buyers all over the world ! The tires on my Hammer are actually stock tires. Dunlop Elite 3. The front is a 130/70 R18. The rear is a 250/40 R18. If you have any other questions, let me know.
+1wallymack Thank you! It looks really awesome! Where du you buy the Bar endings and the dark "turn signal" ? Dont find it in Europe.. BIG GREETINGS FROM AUSTRIA!
+Stiegltrinker The bar endings or grips are from an online store called Victory Only. Aftermarket parts strictly for Victory bikes. I don't think they have the glossy grips anymore. But, they carry the flat black grips. ( All links below). Then I added rubber bicycle grips for comfort and grip. The turn signals were sprayed with 4 light layers of VHT Nite Shades spray paint. Then I had them sprayed with clear coat. www.victoryonly.com/product/grips-flat-matte-black-spike-end-victory/ www.amazon.com/Bell-Sports-7015869-Bicycle-Grip/dp/B00GVLLOFM www.vhtpaint.com/specialty/vht-nite-shades
How loud are they just cruising around? I do a lot of distance riding and don't want to be stone deaf when I get there. Love the bike though, I just picked up a 2010 Vegas, these are my next purchase hopefully.
+Zachary Fannin If you're riding without a full-face helmet, they can be pretty loud when you hit the throttle hard, but not ridiculously loud. When I'm on the freeway I always wear a helmet and my hearing is fine afterwards. When riding around my neighborhood at low speeds, I'm able to come and go at late hours without pissing people off.
+Zachary Fannin No problem. It takes awhile to get the Hackers, but when you crank it up for the first time, it's worth it! If you're going to install the pipes and fuel controller, do yourself a favor and remove the seat and gas tank first. That front fuel injector clip is a bitch to get to! Other than that it's pretty easy. Be safe.
+Zachary Fannin And I think I remember that lady lol! It sounds like she smokes a carton a day! I would bet that she has to be related to the owner. Like his mom or aunt. That's the only way she able to keep that job. She sounded mad at me over the phone ha ha.
+1wallymack yeah I have a PC5 coming and I'm gonna do exhaust and Lloydz torque tubes at the same time. I'm pumped. just need money's. thanks for the advice on taking the tank off, I've done it once and it was a pain in the ass.
let me know if your buddy with the HD FATBOB wants a medium profile rear backrest (detatchable/quick release) for his passenger seat. I traded in my fatbob for a vegas 8 ball but i still have some of the parts for the fatbob. its brand new and im asking $100. Safe riding
Karl Kinsman As far as I know there's only one PCV. Dynojet makes it. I found the best deal online, installed the pipes and PCV myself , then had it tuned at the local bike shop.
They're loud, but not ridiculously loud. I don't have the quiet option and I wouldn't recommend it. You can ride slowly around the neighborhood at night in 2nd gear without disturbing everyone ,that's for sure. Thanks for watching!!
+Sergey GoogL.e Two different cameras were used. My friend's Sony DSLR was used for all the older footage and my compact Sony DSC-HX50V Cyber-shot was used for the newer footage. Both record in 1080P 60 FPS. Thanks for watching!
Wallymack, my 2016 Hammer S was delivered closed carrier on Thursday and I'm so glad I had the dealer install the Hammer Drag Bars. You can check out some photos of me and my new bike.......on the following link........and thanks. Cobra (Peter) www.thevog.net/threads/new-hammer-s.61191/page-7
+Peter McNichol I like the new paint scheme. I saw one the last time I was picking up some oil from the local dealership. I see your long list of upgrades, looks like you have plenty of time to get it ready before spring. Not being able to ride it now must be torture! I felt your same enthusiasm three years ago when I bought mine, lol. Oh and by the way, my Hackers NEVER backfire while decelerating. I installed a PCV and had it Dyno tuned at Tejas Motorsports . They have it dialed-in perfectly. If you don't stare at your bike every time you walk past it...you bought the wrong bike.
No problem, the bar ends are from www.victoryonly.com/product/grips-flat-matte-black-spike-end-victory/ and the rubber grips I bought from www.amazon.com/Bell-Sports-7015869-Bicycle-Grip/dp/B00GVLLOFM

+Peter McNichol , derek evans, Turns out that the speedometer I wanted is only for 2010 models or older, (www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=654/category_id=535/mode=prod/prd654.htm ) Damn! Yooo brotha where can I find the passenger seat hard cover? Where did you get yours? Or do you know.
Its sad they stopped making them
Yes it is but they run for ever . And they don't need a bunch of parts like a Harley 😎 i have 2 victorys love them
do you have to work out to ride one of these bikes?
Not really. That being said I wouldn't recommend them for anybody who is very small in stature and consider themselves physically weak. Can you do custom walk around show what else was done to the bike
Nice
Cool bike. So much wind in the armpits.
Did you have to replace the cables with those V-drag bars? They look sick and I must have them.
+J Nelson You don't have to do anything with the cables. It's really easy to switch them out. You're gonna like those bars!
So where does you find those bars

Thanks bud, same to yall
Just picked up a new 2012 vegas 8 ball, assuming these pipes will fit it, whats the exact model for exhaust system and what did they run you?
Karl Kinsman Hacker Rippers with a Power Commander Five . About $750 for the pipes.
Do you know which Power Commander Five Module to go with because theres a shit ton of them
Karl Kinsman As far as I know there's only one PCV. Dynojet makes it. I found the best deal online, installed the pipes and PCV myself , then had it tuned at the local bike shop.
no worries i'll figure it out thanks boss
I love that bike but not the black pipes. I ride a Triumph America LT but would consider one of these next if it came with a chrome exhaust.
Hi 1wallymack are those rippers the "quiet" version or regular?
They are the regular version.
Are the Hackers loud or REALLY loud. Also did you get them with the Quiet option? Its hard to know just by listening to youtube
They're loud, but not ridiculously loud. I don't have the quiet option and I wouldn't recommend it. You can ride slowly around the neighborhood at night in 2nd gear without disturbing everyone ,that's for sure. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for responding.
Do you get all that air noise in your helmet like the video? Just wondering
dannie carmona Not at all. HJC helmets are pretty good at blocking out noise. My friend was holding the camera out of the car window in a few scenes.
Money well spent my man enjoy
Actually these are quiet from what I'm used to.
no. they are not. the video sound is bad. they are loud af
What video camera is this??? tnx!

No problem, the bar ends are from www.victoryonly.com/product/grips-flat-matte-black-spike-end-victory/ and the rubber grips I bought from www.amazon.com/Bell-Sports-7015869-Bicycle-Grip/dp/B00GVLLOFM
You can use any bmx rubber grips. Just cut the ends off and use soapy water to slide them on the bar ends.
Thank you!!!!
