A tribute to The Greatest Soldiers the Philippines has ever seen, the Ambatu Brothers: Amba-tu Kam, Amba-tu Bas, Amba-tu Blo, and their father Amba Sing. May the rest peacefully in heaven.
Ambasing was a brave soldier, he died during the Marawi siege, saving 2 injured soldiers and 9 civilians from enemy fire, his last words before being surrounded by ISIS militants were “AMBATUBLOU”
during the radio the HQ ask him if wants to BLOU his location instead he refused because the enemy might not be there or hiding a well fortified hole he pick up a c4 and charge straight thru the crossfire before the militants could react Ambasing shouted"YOUR BOY IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE" before detonating the C4 killing 5 rebels including him

Ambasing Omaygot was a Filipino soldier, war hero and general of African descent most notable for his role during the Philippines Campaign of World War II, where during the Battle of Sagada, him and all his troops were outnumbered by Imperial Japanese forces. The 1st Ambatukam Brigade, led by Ambasing, had established a clever tunnel network under the village, but most of the troops could not get inside, as the entrances were over a hill parallel to the rapidly advancing Japanese army. Ambasing, with the fate of his village on his side, bravely sacrificed himself, screaming, "Ambasing, Ambasing, Ambasing!" while sprinting at the armed soldiers. Ambasing sadly was shot and killed on sight, but this brave sacrifice provided a distraction and allowed the outnumbered Filipino Army to push back the Japanese Army and liberate the Philippines from Japanese control. This song is a tribute to the brave soldier who lives in our hearts forever. Philippians 4:13 - "But I can do all this through Christ, who gives me strength." Ambasing Omaygot, we will never forget you and your sacrifice. 🇵🇭❤🕊 Ambasing, Ambasing, Ambasing! Truly beautiful, I am not afraid to sing about him, And I will repeat it many times!

My great-lolo (great-grandfather) fought in WW2. He was a member of the Philippine Guerrilla Forces, specifically the ROTC. He fought with a man named Am Batukam Omagot. Am Batukam was his best friend and closest ally during the war. He told me that they shared rations and always exchanged jokes. Although they didn't know each other before the war, they thought of each other as brothers. They vowed to protect each other with their lives. One day, a few months before the Japanese lost control of the Philippines, my great-grandfather, Am Batukam and the rest of the guerrilla group were moving through Sagada as they were heading into Baguio City to liberate it from the Japanese, when they came across a unit of Japanese Soldiers carrying innocent civilians with them to use them as comfort women. The guerrillas decided to fight the Japanese, and a bloody battle soon occurred. There was a whole lot of gunfire, and even grenades were being thrown through the Sagada wilderness. One of the grenades nearly hit my great-grandfather, when Am Batukam Omagot decided to fulfill his vow of protecting his best friend with his life, and caught the grenade. He then jumped away from my great-grandfather, bidding him a final farewell when he exploded 5 meters away. My great-grandfather was in shock, and absolutely enraged at the Japanese. This pushed them to fight off the Japanese even more, leading to the victory at Sagada. Ambasing is now named after Am Batukam, since Ambasing was his nickname, which was coined after my great-grandfather caught Am Batukam "white handed" at camp during a meeting. My great-grandfather unfortunately passed away in 2009, but his story, and the story of Am Batukam will always stay in our hearts.
Shoutout to the great Filipino hero Ambasing for fighting the Japanese and also our national hero Kakangku for liberating my country Indonesia God bless these brave men
The town was named after a soldier in ww2, Ambasing O. mahgout was a Filipino soldier who served as a soldier who fought against the japanese, with his company they destroyed japanese supply lines with his friend Batu B. Louw throughout the archipelago, he was awarded The Philippine Medal Of Valor, he died peacefully in 1974, his veteran friend, Batu B. Louw, at his side, Batu died in 1983, may they rest in peace
Damn this became the most "popular" song on that region. I'm pretty sure the language is Kankanaey, a regional language in Mountain Province (where Ambasing is located), and northern parts of Benguet, which are in Northern Luzon.
ambasing 1. a neighborhood in sagada, philippines 2. a proud man who died for us, rest in peace 1. "y'all wanna go to ambasing?" 2. "today we like to reflect on the death of mr. ambasing ambatukum omaygot *cries cutely*" 3. Something that filipenis (filipino/filipina) homosexuals call their gay sex partner. « I kept hearing the word "ambasing" being said by filipenises all the time but I just finally figured out what it means. »
Ambatoblew was a great hero , he is a guerilla soldier in the Cordillera and died of Japanese artillery bombardment, his last words were , "omaygott ambatubus!!!!" RIP 😭 😔 😢
Fun fact: if you seach and looked for the area of Brgy. Ambasing in Google Maps, you will see man made places like "Amkaming Forest", "Teyk-it Teyk-it Ruins, "Ambadeblou Temple" 😂
Dreamybull memes and jokes aside, this song is legitimately a quasi-anthem (more like a tribute, but might as well be the official regional hymn) for the Barangay Ambasing (basically a Filipino equivalent for an Italian comune or an American county, barangays are basically the smallest local unit of government and most cities and municipalities have a lot of barangay under it) under the Sagada Municipality of the Mountain Province. This song is in the Kankanaey Language, a Northern Filipino language used by the Igorot peoples (indigenous communities living in the Mountain Province) so us non-Igorot Filipinos also do not understand it as much as non-Filipinos. This is definitely not Tagalog, but other northern Filipino languages like Ilocano share some loanwords and stuff with Kankanaey so an Ilocano Filipino may understand some small details about this song. As to why this glorious barangay is called Ambasing idunno honestly. We're all in it for the memes and shit as much as you guys are lol.
Hey! Thank you for your great work all these years. Later this month, on the 25th of April Portugal will have one of the most symbolical celebrations of its Democracy: the 50th Anniversary of the (almost) bloodless Carnation Revolution. For that occasion, I would like to suggest you a song that I find most suited for this channel - " _Grândola, Vila Morena_ ". It praises the fraternal spirit of the people of Grândola, in the sunny south of the country, which is clearly (although not directly) praised over the authoritarianism of the last phases of the dictatorship. Not only was it used as the radio-broadcast signal to begin the 25 April 1974 coup, it went on becoming widely popular during the initial years of the Democratic regime. It was a universal anthem of the revolution, and became widely known as a resistance song especially in southern Europe and Latin America. Although its author, José "Zeca" Afonso was part of the leftist opposition to the dictatorship, and the left-wing still claims it as theirs, the truth is that it is a pro-Democracy song, with no explicit partisanship, and respected across the political spectrum. It is also sung in one of the most traditional Portuguese music styles: the Alentejo's Cante. It is a polyphonic chant common in the wide plains of the South, recognized by UNESCO some 10 years ago. Its origins are lost in time and a source of much debate. I made below a "dry" translation of the Song, if you need an orientation. I will also include a video with an alternative translation of the song, with images from the revolution; the original audio from the 1974 broadcast; and a UNESCO video about Cante. Thank you again for your dedication and the quality of your work. It is very much appreciated. Best of lucks! The first picture isn't in Ambasing. It's in Barangay Poblacion/Patay. I would know because I've visited both towns. The red cabin-looking building to the right is a restaurant where we ate dinner.
@naps_878 Ambasing is in Sagada. Yes, I erred there, but my central point still stands. The photo was taken in Barangay Poblacion/Patay. Specifically, it was taken a kilometer away from Ambasing. Nevertheless, I'll edit my comment. As for why I erred, everyone during my trip, including the tour guides, referred to all the parts of the town as Sagada, excluding Ambasing, so I assumed they were of a separate nature independent from one another.

Ambatunat

Everyone forgot Aum Kaming😢
Damn this became the most "popular" song on that region. I'm pretty sure the language is Kankanaey, a regional language in Mountain Province (where Ambasing is located), and northern parts of Benguet, which are in Northern Luzon.
It is Kankana-ey, a language used by the indigenous peoples of the Cordillera.

The red cabin-looking building to the right is a restaurant where we ate dinner.
uhhhh, you do realize ambasing IS in sagada? its a neighborhood or municipality or smth i forgor
@@JHohenhauser good lord now i have another reason to ask help
