TRULY Old Money people favor modest accessories; biographers say President George H.W. Bush wore a Timex. Given his experience as a Navy pilot in WW2, a Seiko may have been a tough sell🤔
The 1953 introduction of the Fifty-Fathoms has been proven to be false and just a marketing ploy by Blancpain. Horological journals from the 1950's clearly mention the Rolex Sub in 1954, but there is not any mentions of the Fifty Fathoms until 1955. Additionally, the Blancpain/Rayville patents were not filed until 1954, a couple of months after the Sub was introduced and the Sub has patents filed in 1953.
Great video! Great presentation! A man should have, at the very least, a basic watch selection consisting of regular everyday wear, tactical (I go with G- Force), casual and evening. Get watches that you can change the band on. I also have single hand 24-hour watches in my collection, which make great conversation starters. Least we forget, waist coat watches. I combine bracelets to go with my watches. Metals and leather. There are great watches to fit almost any budget. I hope you're working on a hat video. Let's make classical and traditional men's wear GREAT AGAIN! Really good channel. God Bless

If you’re not from old money but try to dress and style like one. It’s just another form of pretentiousness. And besides most ‘old money’ is now broke. Carnegie, Vanderbilt, Rockefeller are all but a shell of their former glory.
I know this is contrary to the popular wisdom, but I don't have 15k for a timepiece. At the same time, I love them. I just collect fossils. They are decent for the price point especially if you go w the leather bands. I like quantity over quality, to wear a different one every day depending on outfit. Eventually when I'm earning considerably more, I will get a proper Swiss piece or two but in the meantime, I'd rather have 20 cool fossils than one Rolex. When my time does come, I'm not getting a Rolex. I'd rather get a Vacheron or something a little less obvious.
When I think old money, I think more of Glashütte or high end European watches that most people “normies” wouldn’t know about. Old money is people who have been involved in high end luxury for generations. They would be tied to brands with hundreds of years of history.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MaMaCoo 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
Antonio, as a new aviator the senior pilots were wearing Omegas or Rolex GMTs. At the time you could still buy one in the exchange. The Rolex was too expensive and as a 2LT even the Moon Watch was a little out of reach. I went TDY for 8 weeks and lived off of junk food so I could save up my per diem. I bought an Omega Speedmaster 4.5 which I wore for a good 20 years until I purchased my Breitling Chronomat I still have. Since then I've gotten a Breitling Cosmonaute, Montbrilliant, and a Rolex GMT. Semper Fi Marine.
Having a lot of fun and learning a lot over at the the Watch Lover community. Today was the first Giveaway of a fantastic watch. I thought I had it wrapped up, but it wasn't to be.
Hey Antonio, you have been a great influence on me for years and I thank you. On the subject of time-pieces, do you really think they will keep value as the current generation loses interest in heritage pieces like vintage cars?
I feel like it's worth mentioning that if you're at a formal event and you're not into watches, take off the smart watch, most don't look good with formal attire and nobody can see your tan line with long sleeves, or just get a timex/orient/casio for those occasions

Are Rolex watches worth the money? Isn't it just out dated? I would say there are a hell of a lotta other luxury brands which looks much better than Rolex. Of course other brands like rado and all may not be having the legacy which Rolex owns but they do make a lotta better designs than Rolex makes.. just personal opinion😊
Great video Antonio! I think Longines deserves an honorable mention in this video. They have a storied past (actually had the first wristwatch with a second time zone) and they have some classic moonphase and GMT watches. They came out with a diver in 1959 (after Rolex) but that same design is in their Legend Diver models today. I might be a bit of a Longines fanboy, but I think that's another brand (like Tudor) that gives you both luxury and value for the pricepoint. Just my two cents! Happy Independence Day everyone!
For a regular use in an office job, just a simple shirt with jeans and sneakers look, would it be better for the watch to have a leather or a metal band?
@@jackdonith from my experience both work perfectly alright, depends on what you prefer. I often rock my Cartier Tank with polo- or t-shirts - never looks out of place. Leather is also a bit more comfy if you have to type a lot.

Black Rolex Sub, date or no date. One and done.
If you need an office watch, a tasteful Datejust to supplement the Sub.
Agree. 👍
