The Irish Guy takes a look at each English footballer who should have quit the Premier League to move abroad, including the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard and Tom Ince.
Back in the early 2010s, it was said that one reason why there were so many bang average English players was because none would move abroad to find game time, while other countries had loads of top quality players because they were more spread out across Europe. I'm glad that English players are now realising that you don't have to stay in England for your whole career. Jadon Sancho started this new way of thinking.
The main reason I wanted Atletico to win was because of Trippier same reason I was rooting for Dortmund to win the Bundesliga because of Sancho. I don't know why but I like seeing English players play abroad maybe because it's so rare compared to other national teams.
As a Liverpool supporter, seeing Atletico win the UCL this season would be like watching your ex girlfriend making out with their new partner in public. Also if Man City win it then it's gonna piss off a lot of fans, mainly of PL clubs because of their European ban being lifted.
Bayern or Lyon are the only wins that isn't a massive loss for football now lol, even though Bayern is shady. I hear Leipzig are naughty but I don't know much about that.
Stevie never dragged his Anfield legacy thru the dirt. So He slipped. In life sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. He stayed with us, he'll always be with us.
Irish guy is genuinely funny he can have his own talk show where footballers are invited and we could see another David letterman of football world. Like so that it can happen
What foreign team wants Tony Pulis' style of football. This is a guy who benched Gnabry at West Brom, who went on to get relegated, for bang average wingers mostly playing in the championship now for teams like Luton Town.
Not Rio, think he grew up a Liverpool fan, or it was only John Barnes, and has played for both Leeds and United. don't think he was that loyal to anyone.
I'd say Trippier and Sancho are some of the exceptions to the common rule though. British people abroad, and especially to countries where English isn't the native language and it's also not being spoken a lot by people as a second language, that's unfortunately more often than not doomed to fail.
Sancho is a bit of a stretch since many schools in Germany have been teaching English as a mandatory subject from elementary school so a good chunk of the population speak fluent English. Just listen to how Thomas Muller talks yet he hasn't lived outside Germany in his life That's why many English and American players go to Germany since language isn't an issue there
If Glen Johnson joined Roma then Ashley Cole would’ve had a mate there and we may have never had that meme of him standing with the Roma lads for the team picture
The reason English footballers don't (rarely) go abroad is not that they are scared, it's that the English leagues in total have the greatest wealth, thus more incentive to stay in England. Money talks.
Flame true and i do think he is up there but there will always be people like “he didn’t win enough trophies” etc. If he hadn’t stayed loyal and won more i think it would improve people’s perception of him. it’s a testament to him that he stayed through everything
Given how shit Atleti have been up front over the last two seasons, Vardy getting them at least 20 goals a season (probably closer to 30 given how terrible the bottom of the table La Liga teams are) would have made a huge difference.
Premier league table is every team had their worst ever premier league manager (for example current Liverpool team under Roy Hodgson and current wolves team with terry Connor)
Irish guy called Upamecano overrated and now wins CL man of the match.
I remember that, I think he realises he fucked that up
Yeah he might have I mean I love Upamecano as a player I think he can be one of the best if he reaches his full potential.
@@hamz6197 Definitely, he could be an outstanding player
Yep
has nothing to do with the vid

Every club's player that couldn't play out of the premier league

Do you want City and United to win both their respective European competition?
As a Liverpool supporter, seeing Atletico win the UCL this season would be like watching your ex girlfriend making out with their new partner in public. Also if Man City win it then it's gonna piss off a lot of fans, mainly of PL clubs because of their European ban being lifted.

Bri10 that would be cool even though I’m a united fan
Completely unrelated to the video but scenes if Angeliño scores a 30 yard screamer for Leipzig against City in the Champions League Final.
Does his best van bronckhorst impression.
He can't play against City, you cannot play against your parent club
@@rittee9842 he can, courtois played against Chelsea for athletico Madrid in 2014
@@powerman6952 you'd need to pay ALOT of money to be able to do that tho
@@eugenetan3828 pretty sure a team funded by red bull and can but doesn't spend much money can probably afford it.
Irish guy NEEDS to make a video tomorrow that says “Barcelona are a Shambles”
Don’t worry he will it’s impossible for him to ignore that result.
Definitely, even as a Barca fan, I would love to hear our club get ranted. They deserved it no matter where you look at it.
"You don't get punished as ruthless in La Liga"
Gareth Bale and Iker Casillas just want to have a talk with you.
Spanish fans are highly demanding with an insatiable appetite. They would rather boo their own club legends if the game isn't going their way.
Especially Bale. Poor man was BOOED for scoring a one on one and NOT passing to Ronaldo
Imagine Rio Ferdinand and Pique together at Barcelona in their primes 😱
You should remember that Puyol is in there as well
Puyol and Rio would have made Pique surplus
Pique overrated
@@_nwa5887 pique nowhere near good as puyol or ramos.
Puyol was there back then. Pique would’ve stayed at United instead if Ferdinand went to Barca.

Suggestion: What would every premier league managers job be if they where not managers
Brendan Rodgers would be manager of a paper company in Slough
Pep would be a fashion designer/clothing stylist
Daniel Farke would be a janitor
Klopp would have been a rock singer
Diego simeone should be Bus driver
Jack Richardson sean Dyche would be a digger driver
Stevie never dragged his Anfield legacy thru the dirt. So He slipped. In life sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. He stayed with us, he'll always be with us.
Damn Rio really missed the boat

The team David James played with in Iceland was ÍBV.
I got an ad saying that wolves are going to reach the europa league final in a 4/1 chance. Well that ain't happening!
Kieran Trippier didn't score in the UCL this season, so you have to keep your promise Irish Guy!

Never question Gerrard he is a club legend
Do premier League teams that can win title in another league
I admire trippier .that man is impressive
when u realise that nobody is talking abt irish guys beard
Imagine turning down La Liga football to play for Start in norway making 1500 pounds per week instead of however much granada would have gave him
It’s fantastic that he included the local club from my city Kristiansand, IK START!😍
Can you make a video about "What will be happen to your club, if the COVID-19 never happen"
I just looked it up.
I can not believe David James is actually 50 years old
Maybe Paul Ince, ex-Inter player, told Tom not to go; for whatever reason known only to them
I know it might seem boring but I think u should do every premier league clubs best player
Do the english managers next...
Example: Toni Pulis

Barca didn't needed Rio Ferdinand
i have been watching this channel for a while yet i still dont get what he says at the end

Rio would of been a great CB buy for Barcalona. Always cool, calm and strong on the ball.
7:25 No. Just no. Jamie Vardy has to become a PL legend
Day 15: best homegrown footballer from each club
WHOs waiting for Barca bayern
Do a video on Barcelona losing 2-8
Some players showing loyalty namely Gerrard and Vardy.
Harry Kane may have learned to speak English had he gone abroad...
I had no idea Glasgow Celtic was abroad
I think Vardy staying wasn't the worst decision, he will be remembered as their greatest ever player and a bonafide Leicester club legend
3:18 kerr-uh-laaa
surely you can see the difference between Gerrard staying at his boyhood club and Sancho moving abroad to start his career?
Sancho is a bit of a stretch since many schools in Germany have been teaching English as a mandatory subject from elementary school so a good chunk of the population speak fluent English. Just listen to how Thomas Muller talks yet he hasn't lived outside Germany in his life
That's why many English and American players go to Germany since language isn't an issue there
XI of players who thrived being played out of position. I'm talking throwing your fullback in goal, fellaini up front etc
Wow Aswsome
If Glen Johnson joined Roma then Ashley Cole would’ve had a mate there and we may have never had that meme of him standing with the Roma lads for the team picture
Irish guy: Rio Ferdinand would have been the best defender at Barcelona
Carles Puyol: Am I a joke to you
can you please talk about Nicolas Anelka Doco
The reason English footballers don't (rarely) go abroad is not that they are scared, it's that the English leagues in total have the greatest wealth, thus more incentive to stay in England. Money talks.
Feeling very attacked after watching this video lmao
Gerrard would be considered one of the best midfielders of all time had he moved abroad or had moved to Chelsea to win more trophies imo.
he already is tho? included in cl and pl all time top 11
Flame true and i do think he is up there but there will always be people like “he didn’t win enough trophies” etc. If he hadn’t stayed loyal and won more i think it would improve people’s perception of him. it’s a testament to him that he stayed through everything
Surprisingly being a Liverpool I think Gerrard should’ve left after league cup win in 2011
should do this for other countries
As good as ronaldo was at United, he was not yet in his prime. He’s gone to another level since moving to Real Madrid
Bruh I couldn't understand you at times can you slow it down?
Stop Bullying Swindon 😂
to be fair I think Matty Longstaff just wants some first team football, more likely he moves to another premier league team or championship team
Video idea: add the best and worst player in their history see we’re they would finish
say "played overseas".... "played abroad" has erm... connotations back where I'm from...
1:40 Did he say Ronaldo’s prime was at United?
Agree with you
Given how shit Atleti have been up front over the last two seasons, Vardy getting them at least 20 goals a season (probably closer to 30 given how terrible the bottom of the table La Liga teams are) would have made a huge difference.
Although Gerrard moving to Real Madrid would be heartbreaking as a Liverpool fan, I wouldn't mind.
Tbh the slip wouldn’t happen and he would win a league so it’s a win win situation
Probably would've won a Champions League title too
Bri10 *another champions league title😉
Why does the Irish Guy always do that weird flick with his hand at the beginning of his videos I’ve only just noticed but he does it every video.
If Irish guy predicts something, the opposite will happen
I’m surprised u didn’t say Harry Kane tbh
Premier league table is every team had their worst ever premier league manager (for example current Liverpool team under Roy Hodgson and current wolves team with terry Connor)
