If i recall correctly, the first AR 15's shot Semi-Automatic 5.56x45mm but, since then, they have been modified to fire Fully-Automatic with various calibre choices to make it more practical and to suit you better.
The first story was true. Then realized he fucked up cause it was actually a secret. THEN, that’s when he jokes around about it so people don’t take him serious. You guys are idiots if you didn’t catch that.
The best weapon to have is the one you can always count on to run as it should. In a live fire situation, reliability is more critically important to survival than any other factor. AK's never fail. You can fire thousands of rounds, drop it in the mud and fire a thousand more without fail...you simply cannot do that with any other weapon. Plus, 7.62 x 39 rounds are the most popular and available rounds anywhere around the globe because the AK is THE weapon of choice for bad guys outside the U.S....AK hands down winner. When your AR gets dirty and stops running, the AK will still be doing its' thing.
Watch some actual videos of somebody dumping an ak into the mud and try to run it afterwards (id recommend InrangeTV). Not only do AKs fail that test, its actually outperformed there by an ar15. And before you accuse me of some weird bais here, i personally prefer the AK over the ar15, for several reasons. But it is important to be realistic when it comes to guns, which includes their limitations. The AKs reputation for reliability comes from 2 thing: 1 - That it is amazingly simply to take apart, clean, and that it has high tolerances on wear&tear. Even if you do minimal maintance on your AK and have no way to lubricate it, it will run. 2 - That in dry conditions, like deserts und arid areas, you can pretty much get any dust/sand out of it by just shaking it out, or blowing into it, since the clearances are huge and open. Mud is something that will basically kill any firearm if it gets inside the action, especially the chamber or locking lugs. The AKs very open clearances cannot protect it from that, so it fails fairly fast. Thats not to say its not a great weapon - pretty much ANY gun cannot handle that stuff happening. I agree with your assesment that in a live fire situation, reliability trumps everything else, basically. But the ar15 and the Ak are not as far apart on that specific attribute as people make it seem.

Truth is, its never enough of a number looking back at it. Guys are still going over laying hate and for some paying the ultimate sacrifice.
Id go ar platform. longer range lighter ammo way more ammo choices and infinitely more modular. Plus you can do a simple barrel swap and shoot multiple different calibers. Do a barrel and bcg swap and you can have 30 or sp calibers to shoot out of your ar You can also get a piston gun instead of di if you want to have a cleaner running gun
He actually tells these far fetched stories in order to cover what he says, and to discredit himself. It's a technique for people that have a lot of sensitive knowledge.
I've been an AR guy since I got into guns, but I've gotten into AK's and got my first one for Christmas. Looking forward to see which one I actually like.
@@saitama944 ok so I got a chance to fire the AR and the AK. The AR is pretty fun. Enjoyed it. But the AK is amazing! Don't know what it is about it, but it's easily my favourite firearm! Also, my friend who let me shoot in his property got a turn on both, and he said he prefers the AR. However, I couldn't help notice when we were done he kept fidgeting with the AK, and he wanted to carry the AK out to my car when I was going home. Just saying :)
Yes, everything here is definitely not a Kalash, but a model-as a model, there are no details, the cartridge is even different( 7. 62x39 Ross is more elongated tip, and on this bottom is thicker ) The Pakistani is similar to the AK-74 model, but the magazine goes more under the 7.62 cartridge when using 5.45. I think he needs to take the original AK-47, which was created 74 years ago. I think the legend has no time and no one can win.
I've heard this preference from everyone I know who actually went to a warzone. I think it's just a more appropriate caliber for combat, and the armies of the world with advanced combined arms doctrines use a lighter less combat appropriate round (I put the Russian 5.45×39 here too) because the ammo carry weight matters more than the lethality or penetration through light cover when you're outfitting a military in which the artillery and air support account for >80% of casualties when things are going properly and your infantry's ability to outmaneuver and suppress the enemy is thus more important than their kill power. So, the Ak-47/AKM in 7.62×39 is legitimately better as a rifle to take to war, but the M4 in 5.56 is legitimately a better rifle for an advanced country to send you to war with.
@@trentrubenacker9718 The point is not that it is easier, but the penetration. Well, you will take 1 store more and what about it. When you're standing behind cover and you get killed by a bullet hole. Or the fact that the cartridge will break through your armor plate in the armor plate and that's all and one additional magazine will not help
These videos are a lot of fun and the war stories are awesome. It's a hard choice for sure. I would like to own both but if I only had one it would be the AR because it is a lighter platform, ammo is easier to carry (ie more rounds per unit weight) and less recoil for faster followup shots. But the AK is so damn reliable that either one will be fine.
I’m an AK guy. However, in a survival situation, your ability to scavenge supplies and ammo from downed enemies or friendlies is vital. So in the continental US for the situation presented, AR is the way to go.
I prefer the AK. However, in a survival situation, I feel that I’ll be getting my ass shot off almost immediately so it wouldn’t really matter the caliber.
ak47 without options, indestructible barrel, huge service life, not afraid of dirt, sand, water, snow, well, the cartridge, even if the enemy is in body armor, it will still stop him. Just clean, just assemble and disassemble. Yes, it can slightly uncomfortable and the recoil is stronger, but it’s better to hurt the shoulder from the butt, maybe a shot through the side. So I completely agree with Nick.

I love my AK
But it never hurts to have a 5.56 AR in the US either.
More available parts and ammo (in theory anyway)
Some countries have the ak on their damn flag
AR10 all the way
Watch some actual videos of somebody dumping an ak into the mud and try to run it afterwards (id recommend InrangeTV). Not only do AKs fail that test, its actually outperformed there by an ar15. And before you accuse me of some weird bais here, i personally prefer the AK over the ar15, for several reasons. But it is important to be realistic when it comes to guns, which includes their limitations. The AKs reputation for reliability comes from 2 thing:
1 - That it is amazingly simply to take apart, clean, and that it has high tolerances on wear&tear.
I would go with whichever one my enemies have. Their ammo becomes MY ammo.

Id go ar platform. longer range lighter ammo way more ammo choices and infinitely more modular. Plus you can do a simple barrel swap and shoot multiple different calibers. Do a barrel and bcg swap and you can have 30 or sp calibers to shoot out of your ar

If reaper says Ak47 is good, it must be solid👌🏼.
AK74 is what I would use
Yes, everything here is definitely not a Kalash, but a model-as a model, there are no details, the cartridge is even different( 7. 62x39 Ross is more elongated tip, and on this bottom is thicker ) The Pakistani is similar to the AK-74 model, but the magazine goes more under the 7.62 cartridge when using 5.45. I think he needs to take the original AK-47, which was created 74 years ago. I think the legend has no time and no one can win.
Here you can see the original ak-47 and immediately notice the differences th-cam.com/video/5kCmtaD92eI/w-d-xo.html
Or the fact that the cartridge will break through your armor plate in the armor plate and that's all and one additional magazine will not help
make flex seal body armor and shoot it!

Did we all just come from that pewdiepie video?
These videos are a lot of fun and the war stories are awesome. It's a hard choice for sure. I would like to own both but if I only had one it would be the AR because it is a lighter platform, ammo is easier to carry (ie more rounds per unit weight) and less recoil for faster followup shots. But the AK is so damn reliable that either one will be fine.
Same

I’m an AK guy. However, in a survival situation, your ability to scavenge supplies and ammo from downed enemies or friendlies is vital. So in the continental US for the situation presented, AR is the way to go.
I think everyone can agree theyre both good. It comes down to personal preference but a good hit on center mass with either is gonna be deadly
AK Chambered in 5.56. Tons of ammo everywhere and AK reliability.
