That endgame swindle by Magnus in game 4 is soooo sick. After pushing his pawn to g5, he sacrificed his f-pawn to get his rook and pawn on the 7th rank. At that point black is literally paralyzed, he can never push f6 because the pawn is pinned, his king can never go to the back rank because white plays Ra8+ and gets a queen, and his rook can't leave the a-file. So white has all the time in the world to march his king to the other side of the board. Insane stuff. Worth remembering that position for classical games.
He only gets trounced by anyone near his ranking when there's cheat detection measures in a live match. When he plays from his computer, it's different..
The gods are still with Magnus, helping him to win hundreds of drawn or lost games by briefly blinding his opponents -- I wonder how long this infatuation is going to last...
If you watch more chess games, you will see its very common magnus or whoever player. Ive seen tons of players with a winning position, blundering it to a draw or even worst, a loss. Its very common, even at elite chess
