Hi, excellent tutorial. I'm actually RIGHT NOW working on this nocturne. The reason WHY i'm reacting here is to tell the students that when they're learning this piece, they'd be strongly advised to DO THE 3 A's FIRST and THEN move on to THE LONG BRIDGE. The advantage of this approach is a. it gives a tremendous feeling of satisfaction, given that you've touched HEAVEN(the end!); b. the 3 A's are really brothers of each other; c. when you enter THE BRIDGE you can e.g. take it 1 or 2 or 3 at a time....repeat and then ADD UP each and every time. But I'm very curious to hear YOUR COMMENT to my approach!
Anyway you would approach is good.
Sometimes is better to start with the ending to have an overall understanding where the piece will peak. Plus the ending, usually is not as much practice as the beginning (as we rush the finish the piece ) ….
It all depends of student flexibility and understanding Music forms/variations/ improvisation.
Some they need to start with the beginning because they must build up (emotional and technical) themselves toward the end ….
Conclusion: once you know the Nocturne very well (as a teacher) you just choose the best strategy for each student how to teach it !!!
The result is all that matter 🤗🎹🤗

What the hell is intermediate in piano? 25 years of experience? Damn i already regret buying the piano i have been playing for 5 years and the only thing i can play is comptine(almost complete), and the intro of like 15 songs. Like literaly i have tried having a teacher but this whole teaching piano business has the "Job interview" vibes where you need 25 years of experience, a bachelors degree and be 18 years old

But don’t give up on piano , please
Do find a teacher that you click with his/her personality. Find a teacher that will inspire you !!! Asking the teacher some questions is not a job interview or maybe it is … because you are hire her/him …. Must ask questions!!! And must trust her/him …. If it doesn’t click in 2-3 months, change !!! You have to feel that you are progressing rapidly. Communicate what are your goals , and plan strategies TOGETHER!!!

In 5 years you should have been much further when you have a good teacher and when you practice consistently at least 15-30
