I think that Andreas is very good at editing the vlogs but I do believe that Benjamin is alot better at interacting with both you and the audience like Marcus was :-) Just my opinion on your choices for Team Overkill ;-)

People need to realize Andreas hasn't had a real chance to be a part of the vlog so stop acting like he's awkward and sucks - he's also much younger and probably a little intimidated by people wanting Marcus back - look his 1st week in Canada they explained he was always editing - then in LA they (Jon) kinda left him out of everything (I think having Warner around was annoying and took away from us getting to see more of Andreas) and then in Monaco he basically left to do his thing like the following day. His editing is on fire - give the boy a chance!!

This editor feels like a nice guy but Andreas is much better at editing, the section in the airport was superbad, the ski edit yesterday was also pretty bad. JON if you want to have the coolest vlogs possible you need to hire Andreas. This guy makes everyone comftarble behind the screen and i think your vlogs will have a much better sucsess on youtube with him. BUT you also have to keep in mind that Andreas were in a group of your friends when you met him so it was superhard to get a real connection with him and he didn't want to take too much place in the group.
I could not agree more! Benjamin is good and perhaps more outgoing person, but I don't think he can compare with Andreas editing skills. The Vlogs from Canada was just fantastic - especially "Lost in whistler". Jon said he felt sorry for Andreas who had to work with those shots, but what a great story Andreas managed to create. If I was Jon I would hired both of them.
I feel like because Benjamin and Jon are the same age, physically and mentally, they get along like pals and good friends but Andreas and Jon is like a father and son type of a relationship because Andreas is only 21 and he is a lot more shy. Andreas is excellent at editing but when he is working with Jon i feel like there isnt this magic between them. Anyone else agree?
I find the filmers personality is more important than the filmers skills. I like to see jon and his filmer getting along like they've been best friends for years and we just get to watch it.

Helli skiing in Canada, then surf in LA then off to Monaco, buy a Rolls, off to Austria and to cover a big Red Bull event and now in Denmark to drive a Praga 1500km to northern Sweden. Jon PLEASE drop Andreas, what made your vpogs so entertaining wasnt so much the edits but Marcus's ability to interact with you and the camera. It made us feel like we were really with you in Monaco or Bali. If it was up to me Jon, Id choose the personality, rather than the insane ability to edit. With benjamin we are shown a glimpse of what this amazing vlog once was!
guys, chill with the b rolls. More b roll does not equal better content. You have to learn to balance it. Right now, there's a b roll inflation where it's losing its value... Jon, I feel that these new guys have technical editing capabilities, but they both lack creativity and story-telling skills. You need someone who's got this. Look at the master, Casey N. He is not an editing wizard, instead his vlogs were magical because of his creativity and story telling.
adolicious even Casey admitted story was suffering from doing daily vlogs, considering that, after 300 vlogs Jon is doing fantastic. I think the editing is as cohesive as it can get with such time constrictions.
zach thomas of course the story suffers (and that can clearly be seen in Caseys vlogs as the earlier ones were far better that the later ones) but that does not mean that one should sidestep the story completely. I was just pointing to the fact that Jons vlogs now are largely about showing off shots taken with expensive camera equipment through endless b rolls. And when you do that in a DAILY vlog one grows tired of them. They should cut back and create a better balance. Jon should not be looking for an amazing editor who knows how to apply the zoom-in transition. He should look for creative people who know how to create CONTENT. Editing skills come second to that imo. And perhaps keep the vlog shorter than 10 mins to keep things interesting

He is not an editing wizard, instead his vlogs were magical because of his creativity and story telling.
adolicious even Casey admitted story was suffering from doing daily vlogs, considering that, after 300 vlogs Jon is doing fantastic. I think the editing is as cohesive as it can get with such time constrictions.
zach thomas of course the story suffers (and that can clearly be seen in Caseys vlogs as the earlier ones were far better that the later ones) but that does not mean that one should sidestep the story completely. I was just pointing to the fact that Jons vlogs now are largely about showing off shots taken with expensive camera equipment through endless b rolls. And when you do that in a DAILY vlog one grows tired of them. They should cut back and create a better balance. Jon should not be looking for an amazing editor who knows how to apply the zoom-in transition. He should look for creative people who know how to create CONTENT. Editing skills come second to that imo. And perhaps keep the vlog shorter than 10 mins to keep things interesting
