The possibility of giving people ‘vaccine passports’ to allow a return to international travel is being debated in the UK and elsewhere.
The UK government is yet to say it would support such a move, but former prime minister Tony Blair and Greek leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis are among those calling for their introduction.
With the government confirming all over-50s in UK to be offered vaccine by May, what’s the likelihood of international travel plans this summer?

As for vacations and returning to normal, I'm not in any rush. It will happen when it's prudent to do so. I've had COVID-19 and I've been vaccinated, and I'm still being really careful. It's one of the few times in my life I can say to family "it's because I love you that I don't want to be anywhere near ypu" and it's a compliment!🤣

There already are immunization requirements for international travel. We haven’t stopped those practices because some individuals haven’t been immunized for one or another reason.

And when you get your covid vaccine in the US, you are given a CDC white card that has the lot number and date given along with space for the 2nd and several others. It's not an "if". Its a "when".

@@theknowall2232 the vaccines I'm current on are typhoid, cholera and yellow fever. I have never gotten a "flu shot", and would like to avoid it in the future. But I work at a chemist - and I have seen the cards with their little CDC logo in the corner. Same logo that's on my current vaccine card. And that's what leads me to say "when" ... not "if". ETA - having contracted both cholera and typhoid pre-immunization but not since, I'm inclined to lump those with MMR, etc. I agree in part with the studies to which you refer. Short version, I think there are some vaccines that are necessary. And some that are not. Unfortunately those of us who travel for work (or pleasure) will undoubtedly be roped into the covid vax.

Why not just use the existing passports, All you need to do is add a stamp to exiting ones, and add the information to the info page for the new ones. this can be cross-checked against the database on entry or exit.
Reading these comments one becomes aware how many people skipped science in school. Vaccination of as high a percentage of the population as possible is the key.

European Councils ruling 7.3.1 and 7.3.2 which clearly states 'no one should be discriminated against , that citizens are informed that the vaccination is not mandatory and that no one is politically, Socially, or otherwise pressured . Ummmmm.... no. Travel access international borders has for about century required proof of vaccination for travel to/from areas where diseases were endemic and vaccines were available. Proof of smallpox vaccination was a common requirement for international air travel until smallpox was finally eradicated... eradicated by widespread vaccination.
