0:47 me watching that scene in _The Order_ where he was giving his rally speech ..literally was like, I have never seen him be this menacing & it’s fkn terrifying
I hope this means that we'll see Lex Luthor finally put on the War Suit in live action. I'll admit, one of my biggest disappointments about the original DCEU was that Lex never directly challenged Superman, but rather indirectly though mind games. I have hopes for a change in the new DCU.
@@Pongus_420☝🏽This guy doesn't realize how stupid that show truly is. For loooong time readers of Superman comics, there's so much in the teaser trailer that might escape the casuals. I know Krypto (aka Superdog) seems corny to the casuals but he was really important for years. In a lot of ways, he was one of the things that kept Superman wholesome, grounded, made him non-threatening to the most vulnerable people of this world that Superman is here to protect. When Krypto was written out of the comics, Lois Lane became too much of the "single point of failure" for Superman being the ultimate "good guy". And it was trivial, really, for Joker to turn Superman into something more of a Brightburn nightmare (which... if you haven't seen Brightburn... it's a very very thinly veiled "what if" story about young Superman in Smallville... with a big Producer credit on that film for one James Gunn). I think a lot of Krypto being there is just kind of doubling down that this Superman is NOT going to be like Snyderverse Superman. This is one that grew up as a farmer's son in Kansas, who loves baseball and apple pie. This is a bright, colorful, grounded Superman that loves America and loves Earth even without having Lois in his life to humanize him.
I just wish the cgi on Krypto in the trailer looked a little better. Gunn is so used to bringing in the same cast for all his projects, he should’ve brought in the same vfx artists he worked with in the mcu to make Rocket Raccoon & other talking animals that looked real & not like cgi
@@packedentertainment2866what are u talking about? CGI on krypto is literally the best part of that trailer!! He's looking even more real than rocket racoon!
Lol I wonder if the fact that he wanted to be Superman is going to give a little extra edge to his character / performance.😅 In any case, I wish him (and us Superman fans) to be as good a Lex Luthor as Tom Hiddlestone was a great Loki after first losing the Thor part to Hemsworth.
I genuinely feel for Nicholas Hoult. Hollywood is never going to level him up to leading man status. He's lost out on literally every leading role he's gunned for in the last 10 years lol
If you watch juror #2 recently then you’ll see that it’s deservedly so. That movie had a generic story anyways, not Clint Eastwood’s best. But his performance & his character’s storyline was easily the weakest despite him being the lead. If literally every character other than you is more entertaining/interesting & is giving a more compelling performance than you … then that’s a problem. He’s a good actor but not lead material. Toni Collette should’ve been the lead of that movie. He should never be the lead again & only works as a supporting character like he has been his whole career
Its always darkiest before the dawn and the dog eats your best sneakers Holy ganip ganap Batman! Krpyto at it again it must be the superfeet stink that he enjoys. Said Lois.
I thought Jesse was quite menacing and genius as Lex. I dunno if he deserved all that hate. I love that movie and him in that movie. We’ll see about Nicholas. Prolly will do a decent job
Personally, I enjoyed his version. But tbh the Lex everyone knows is more calm and calculated. Everyone was mad about inaccuracy, not that Jesse was bad. I personally just don't care about accuracy.
@@Spiderstan727 We both agree the criticism is unfair; we both enjoyed Jesse's Lex. I'm just explaining how others saw it. If you run to comics, you'll find 100s of version of every popular character. Mainstream audience doesn't care about that. Look at Lex from mainstream comics and from the cartoons. That's what most people think Lex is like, so that's what they want.
I know most people are thrilled over Nicholas Hoult getting the part, I just wish they went with someone more masculine because this guy looks way too feminine to play Lex
I was thinking "Luthor: Man of Steel" before he said it. And FUCK YES!! That comic book is sooo goooood.
Whats she about
So it is true that he was initially going for Superman but ended up as Lex?
Yep
"you either die a hero,or live long enough to become the villain".
Yep he also auditioned for The Batman but lost the role to Robert Pattinson
So he lost out for roles to Batman and Superman couldn’t be a more fitting role for him he’s perfect for lex 🐐🐐Nicholas is gonna kill it as lex
We have another Thor and Loki scenario, cus Tom Hiddleston originally auditioned for Thor.

Lex Luthor is an awesome character.
Love the sci-fi silverage superman! I've read a bunch of those and they were memorable!
actually got me excited bc the level of understanding james gunn has of the comics

I wonder if they will give him the same level of strength that the silver age version has. Have him tow planets around and sneeze galaxies away.
i doubt it, its hard to make stuff make sense when someone's that powerful, and bound to a planet
Neither of the last two actors give off a Lex Luthor impression.
Lex is the best villain of all time
I really think we're going to get smart apes at least making a cameo in this. I'm also really hoping we get some Brainiac.

Lex Luther has yet to be convincing in any Superman film. The best lex Luther was from the The Animated Series in 1996-2000

I've yet to watch a performance by Nicholas Hoult that I didn't like. I look forward to his Lex Luthor.
