So great! I've been trying to find videos that spoke about flavour pairings specific to cocktails and having no success. Thanks for making this !

Incredibly helpful episode!!! Making some drinks for fun tonight and I'm already rummaging through all my spices and ingredients for pairing.

This is great stuff. Really helps to develop my understanding of flavours not owning any of those books yet. Thanks for the websites and advice. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to the rest you share.

That was the business !!! Even that I won't be looking to build my own cocktail recipes that was great info about flavour pairings and understanding the concept and how it all works. The ingredientspairing website will probably come in useful too on certain occasions.

yeah, you can use them for cooking as well (that's probably more their main purpose :)

Here’s a drink I’ve been practicing in my bar/tobacco store in Brasil after watching your channel:
50ml woodford reserve or jack daniels
    25ml Cointreau
    25ml lime juice
    25ml demerara syrup 1.2sugar/1water
50ml unsweetened Earl Gray or black tea infused with cardamomo seeds

nice, yeah, they work for both--actually more valid for cooking in a lot of cases, but some of the sites are getting savvy to the cocktail industry and adding in pairings for rum, bourbon, etc. Many didn't highlight that originally.

How do you balance your cocktail? What is the perfect ration to create a cocktail? Thanks

Something I found rather recently, is that at foodpairings.com, if you actually click on the item mentioned in the pairings, you can chain them. I know, it probably sounds like a no brainer, but despite using the site for a WHILE, I always thought that if you clicked on one of those things, it just takes you to that respective page and item's pairings.

yep, I think I've used that...that's the one with the pay-for upgrade version right?

I... don't know, actually. I've clicked on the things it pairs with before and it took me to that specific item's page, though about a week ago I did it and it chained it. So if I put Orange, then click on Brown Sugar, it goes to a page where it has things which pair well with those two things together. Haha, despite that I suppose such a thing can be derived from me using the term "Chained" so there's that as well.

Do you have any episodes of you guys trying those bad recipes out and maybe giving critique and showing how to make palatable?

I see you found the irony there :) But, quite honestly, the two courses I've done right now bar school would charge $800+ for in the city...and they'll spend more time making you memorize recipe ingredients for ones they think are important, rather than teaching you the ratios and formulas to doing them yourself.
