    This is so beautiful!!! I also appreciate the fact that your English and accent are so understandable compared to others I cannot make out what they are trying to saying. Hu hu hu! I'm so happy I'm crying. Quick question: Why do you have to type "C" before "True"? And what does "C" mean?

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Frances, thanks so much. I really appreciate that. I have lived outside the US for 18 years, so I think it has been important for me to speak English without slang in order for people to understand me. The 'C' in MSOC stands for Component in the Microsoft Office Component library.
      I hope this helps and thanks so much.

  • @stephaniegallentine
    @stephaniegallentine 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This was absolutely fabulous! Took awhile to get it going but once I did, it started coming together nicely. Only problem I have is now when I click on a tab, it pulls up the screen outside of where it should and I have to "pull it in" so to speak like you did in this video,(you had to slide it back over) but you had to only do it once, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. But otherwise, it all worked. Thank you for such a detailed video

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Stephanie thanks very much. I am really glad you liked the training. You can automate the scroll, horizontally or vertically. So you may want to add a last line of code to pull the screen back to the column (or row) that you want. Something like this:
      Activewindow.Scrollrow=1
      or
      Activewindow.Scrollcolumn = 1
      Just change 1 to whatever column or row you want

    Thank You SO much Randy for this lovely tutorial! I worked on this with some little changes and it went on just so seamlessly well with your incessant guidance. But I would like to know after making these tabs, how will I keep a track of Gen Info, Time and earning History for many employees. If I choose an employee name from Gen Info tab, the rest of the tabs could show all Time Clock and Earning related to that specific employee. Hope you get what I am saying. Would love to see your take on this. Thanks in advance mate!!!

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kunalj, you can just use a drop down list of an employee above all the tabs. When a new employee is selected, all of their information is then filled it. I teach all of this in my Employee Manager Series on my channel here: th-cam.com/users/ExcelForFreelancers

    • @ExcelForFreelancers

      I there, you should be able to use scroll bars as long as the columns are hidden that you do not want displayed. Vertical scroll bars would not have any effect and you could freeze the top set of rows to keep the tabs visible. I hope this helps. Hi thanks for your comment. There should be no issue since its only the columns that are hidden/shows. Rows are always displayed so there should be no issue at all with additional 20 or even 2000 lines, You may want to freeze the header so that the tabs are always displayed when you have a lot of rows.

    Hi Randy,
    Thanks again very good presentation and very interesting way to present informations.
    I tried to use it and I have a problem. I have Excel 2019 and even if I change the properties to Do not move or Resize, my shapes are still moving when I scroll my sheet either up or down or left or right.
    I would have love to test your workbook, but I cannot download it. Do you know if there is a problem with Excel 2019…??
    Thank you.

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Guy, thanks so much. the shape should not be moving however if you do not have enough visible area, meaning too many columns or rows are hidden, then it could still move. I hope this helps. Ahhhhhh. Now i understand. Auto-Hotkey is the program I use, but the code must be added to Auto-hotkey script like this:
      #IfWinActive ahk_class wndclass_desked_gsk
      :b0:with::{Enter}{Enter}{Enter}End With{Enter}{up 2}{end}
      :*:then`n::Then{Enter}{Enter}End If{Enter}{up 2}`t
      :b0:select case::{Enter}{Enter}{Enter}End Select{Enter}{up 2}{end}
      :b0:do::{Enter}Loop{Enter}{up 2}{end}
      ::diml::Dim As Long{Left 9}
      ::dims::Dim As String{Left 11}
      ::dimr::Dim As Range{Left 10}
      ::dimd::Dim As Double{Left 11}
      ::lr=::LastRow = Range("A1").End(xlUp).Row
      ::Vbc:: & VbCrLf & "
      ::.r::.Range("").value{Left 8}
      ::ifn::If Not Intersect(Target, Range("H12")) Is Nothing
      ::apw::application.WorksheetFunction.Match("
      These are just some, you can add your own as much as you want.

    Hi Andy, Thanks for this great video! I have created my own report followed your instructions in the video and it is working good except a small issue when i apply "TabGen" Macro, it really hide/unhide the targeted columns but the Screen automatically - by default - shows the columns start from "W,X,Y....->" column so i have to go with row to left (the page beginning) and this make hassle with me. How we can we solve that :)

      HI Mohamed, thanks for your feedback. I am really glad you like the training. You can automatically scroll to any row or column in VBA with lines of code like this:

Let me elaborate first. in this video, you have put the content into tabs from the same sheet, i mean the whole content was in a sheet. what if i want to put all my content into this tabwise format where these contents gotta be coming from different sheets? How do i write the code for that?
