I know it was an important part of Holmes motivation in the second movie, but I really wish they hadn't done what they did to her character....I wanted to see more of her in the sequel.
I hate when the interviewer ask dumb questions like "is it that you tribute your success?" I mean come on this isn't a psychological test, the obvious answer would be her talent.... She is an incredible actress, what else? But because we are a society full of judgements if she had answered that we all might said that she is an arrogant actress. Her real answer not only tells you how humble she is but also how smart and clever she is. I absolutely adore her.
i went to see that last night and just fell in love with it thouht it was so funny etc and it will be a success as the cinema was stuffed i just about got a seat! an thats in northern ireland wonder hw its doing everywhere else!
I see so many people claim that this movie is nothing like the original, that it's a disrespect to Doyle, and that it has ruined the name of Sherlock Holmes, but I'm not seeing any reasoning. No one is outright saying how this movie has done that except for one small post saying that Holmes is not someone a woman can kiss. I will agree with that, but I also believe that it is faithful to the books. It merely focuses more on certain aspects than others, which hasn't been done before.
@HotBroodish No, he was a tall and thin man if I remember correctly. That's about the only thing that Robert has trouble with in fitting Holmes's description. But I'd take good acting over height any day.
They obviously focus more on the action, but they also delve more into Holmes' specialty in chemistry, biology, and the idea of his deductive reasoning. They also focus less on Holmes' detective work and just because he doesn't snoop around with a magnifying lens to his eye, everyone cries foul. I don't get why everyone's saying it's not true to the books. It is. It just focuses more on the Holmes that few people know and not the public assumption that he is just a private detective.
@ModernFrench: She is, but I mean hero by the fact that she's not a weak female character. She's able to stand up for herself. She freaking slapped BlackWood. lol
Okay, so this movie isn't exactly a love story to canon, but it's still fun. As a hardcore bromance fan and someone who's read the books, I can say I didn't like the interpretations they made for Irene. It is true Irene was only in ONE story. Pairing Irene and Holmes is kind of the Hollywood thing to do (without much basis) because God forbid there's an actual asexual or Watson-sexual Holmes. Movie woulda been fine without a female "love interest" for Holmes. Use Irene, sure, but not for that.
she played the role of Irene Adler extremely well in the movie
She is so cute, and she was a great Irene! I loved her. Irene is one of my heroes now.
she is the definition of FREAKING adorable
As a foreigner I couldn't find a right positive definition without being rude: freaking adorable is perfect.

it was GREAT
i dont think she literally meant "dance." i think she was referring to the feuding back and forth, falling in love over and over, y'know?
Rachel McAdams is so beautiful 💘
It wasn't a love interest thing. It was a battle of minds/wits, what have you. She was the only one to outwit Holmes,
Sam Raimi's Unmade Spider-Man 4 Rumor Rachel McAdams as Black Cat

@Gaayowl00 well why do u hate her??
i agree, dark hair suits her better
@chutaleomessygol she doesnt look 21, she looks pretty good for her age (32, November 17, 1978).
America should draft her. She's too cute for Canada.
@Gaayowl00 well that's just ur opinion, alot of people think she's adorable..
The Soviet Sherlock Holmes movies are so much better.
Realy ???
She's hot when she upskirt in 'Red Eye'!!!!!!!!
shes so pretty :)
@Gaayowl00 so are u

@Ac3HD why does it even matter to you?!
i dont hate her, i just think her presenting skills are terribly boring.
I want to marry her!
@Ac3HD why are you so offended?
Get over it.
@mindsoulbody u couldn't be more right. this movie is eventually a disrespect to Arthur Conan Doyle.
