I used to work as a student at the KZN racecourses in the early 1990s, but took an interest in horse racing from the 1980s. I retained an interest in horse racing for more than a decade thereafter, well into my 30s and still remember all of Horse Chestnut's exploits...what a machines he was. He made such an impression on me, that when he stopped racing in SA, I lost interest in the equine industry. There's been no horse like him since!
