They are the low-level waste trains carrying personal protection equipment/paper that may have been contaminated - these ISO containers are buried at Drigg repository in Cumbria. The rear wagon would probably be carrying metal of some kind I believe
Nice catch of those new gray Freightliner wagons 5:36 Those are unusual wagons. I thought nuclear waste was carried in special 8-wheel cars on British Railways
The way i understand those are basically small wagons with the flask itself under a container. on the rear one you can see the flask itself. to my knowledge these are used when decommisioning nuclear power stations. fantastic video!
Yeah - someone confirmed a while back that the container is for items with low level contamination risk. Things like gloves and equipment. Thanks for commenting and watching the video.
@@stmichaelshill7421 On the rear wagon there was visible what looked like a nuclear flask. FNA wagons white top isn't actuator a flask, it opens up and they put the sealed flask inside. What I thought was that these wagons carried the flask in a different was for lower level radiation/risk. I could be wrong though.
Sparky! Truly an honour to have a legend such as yourself comment! We have a real mix over here, although I don't think we have anything approaching your longest trains anywhere! The Nuclear Flask or Low Level Nuclear container trains are some of the shortest freight ones around. My video a couple before this one has some of the longest (or at least heaviest) with the TEA tanker trains.

Yes - it usually is. I think these are containers for low level waste rather than waste from the power generation process.

A nice variety of stock and well filmed and edited. David.
Thanks David! Good to know the work is appreciated.
Nice collection on a pretty day. Definitely a couple interesting ones, like the nuke hopper.
I don't thinke I'd like to be on a station as the nuke train went by so close yet scary
trains are quite short over there.

America (I’m assuming) has very long freight trains, but not anywhere near as frequent, or often as British or European trains.
The wagons most likely contained unused urainium fuel assemblys and were eventually gonna go to a power station for use
Been there Cheltenham festival week, can't move on the platforms lol
Oh I can imagine - luckily it was a very quiet day for me!
Thay actualy ran a class 221 from Aberdeen to Penzance ?.
I believe they do every Saturday
Great video a very odd train
Thanks Luke - hope you're well mate!
@@stmichaelshill7421 yes I am. I saw clan line and duchess of sutherland recently
@@LukeAlfordUKsteam Awesome - I have seen both and filmed them for my channel. I'm not a huge fan of steam trains, but they are certainly impressive!!
They are low level Nuclear waste containers.
Thanks very much for letting me know!
