I did it in November 24 on a folding ebike. A lovely ride but a little rough around the beautiful Robin Hoods Bay. I managed it ok with care. Your video is delightful and brought it all back - thank you !
@@maureenarnold-hc4sg Thanks for watching! Yes, I remember a rough bit - a deep channel eroded down the middle of the track. To make matters worse it was completely full of leaves which hid it rather like an elephant trap; fortunately I was following wheel tracks along the edge of the path which became narrower and narrower, and I spotted the danger just before I swapped sides! Hopefully work may still be ongoing (there were signs and traffic cones at one point), because that bit needs fixing! I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for commenting and for sharing your experience too!
That section of NCN1 looks delightful - friendly gradients and terrific views, my favourite sort of route. It's a nice surprise to find that you have another SLOTHO series up your sleeve and we can enjoy the adventure over the holiday period. You certainly clocked up some miles in 2024 - no wonder your knee is sore! I trust you are taking it easy just now while we have a weather warning in place? Happy New Year, and ATB for your two-wheeled adventures in 2025.
@@davidwalsh566 Thank you so much for your nice comment! The Cinder Track is a very pleasant route. It has clearly had some work since my first visit as the drop from Ravenscar then seemed quite intimidating on my heavily loaded bike on my first long camping trip for many years (I actually stopped at the viewpoint then to adjust my brakes - out of fear); this time it was just a bit of extra fun. I'm still working on the rest of the series, but if the weather is as unpleasant as the forecast I should have time to edit a few more episodes! Best wishes for the new year!
Another great little video, looked like the little Neo was struggling with the wind when you stopped to look a robin hoods bay. Will be watching out for part 2. 👍👍👍
@@johnm-wv6bo You are right about poor little Neo - I was quite worried about releasing him/her/it in so much wind, especially when the most likely looking crash site was a very large, prickly shrub. Thanks for commenting - I'm glad you liked the video! This is the first of 8 on this tour, but I won't give too many spoilers!
Nice! The hostel looks great, especially with a members kitchen. Does YHA have any castles? I stayed in the Irish (An Oige) and Scottish (SHA) ones over 40 years ago, but they are gone now. I can't remember the name of the Scottish one, but it was particularly fine, even had it's own railway station!
@@dooley-ch I have quite a few more hostels to explore so I can't be absolutely definitive about castles; however there is St Briavels Castle in Wales. There are also a number of big halls (Ilam) or lodges (Grinton) which were made to look a bit castle-like.

@@RAsadventures-zr1ge Do you ever actually sit down or are you permanently sat on a bike ????.
@johnm-wv6bo I love being on a bike when the weather is nice! When it's not, I spend far too much time sitting down!
