Strange Days is a great movie that not a ton of people talk about. Great cast and interesting Sci-fy concept. My favorite Angela Basset performance. Would love for you guys to do a personal favorite sleeper hit list of movies.
This show is awesome, already watching ahead for next month!
Noir is next?
Ohh baby! One of my top 3 favourite genres.
Such a broad topic, too. Can't wait to watch! Hope for part 2 in the future. Fantastic stuff as always.
I'm pretty sad Brick didn't make the list, but I am glad I get to see 4 Noir movies I haven't seen before so that's a win. Thanks for the content, brothers.
Oh and Near Dark was surprisingly the most interesting of the vampire films. The Hunger had great atmosphere but somehow Near Dark edged it out for me by feeling so much more real.
Thank you for this content
I'll ask you guys to chuck The Warriors on your list if you haven't got it already.
This series is so good. I continue to tell every cinephile i know about Four Play. Awesome as always.
3/4 of the film noir films mentioned, all but Touch of Evil, I've seen and think are great. Terrific selections!
I love the quote from L.A. Confidential "reciprocity is the key to every relationship," and used it as a chapter title in my book.
I havnt watched a single one of the films that you guys reviewed I just like listening to you talk aboht them
Can't wait for film noir, never really seen movies prior to the 80s and even then I'm not well versed in that era never had a desire until now because of this show and you guys talking about all these movies spanning decades thanks for the content!
Love it
Man, there is going to be so much cinema I would enjoy that I probably will never get to see because I just don't have the time
That bar scene was so brutal and violent. They are right about the ending not fitting the movie.
i love tangerine dream. one of my favorite scores of theirs is sorcerer
Great review again, can't wait for film noir next!
Good stuff, looking forward to the film noir selection.
Thank you for the content!
Great show. Excited for what’s next.
Monte's overview of the movie at the beginning is correct... Near Dark definitely has its ups and downs but that bar scene is superb. And there are some cool concepts in the movie that maybe could have been done better, but they're still interesting to see on film. The main character is kind of a limp fuck in my opinion but oh well. At least Bill Paxton rules!
👍
apparently twilight might have blocked the remake for this movie due to the romance between humans and vampires lol
Near Dark is nowhere near perfect but for me this one was the best of all 4 films, cast is dripping nostalgia, Mae is eerie and beautiful, pacing is good, but the end is very underwhelming. Yet when compared to previous one, where vamps might have looked cool and all, in essence they were just pathetic morons i couldn't care less about, vampires as outcasts and drifters in this one at least have some weird logic and mystery to them.
Glad to see the boys are back
