    Cracking doc. Well put together, really get a sense of the arduous, relentless nature of touring. It’s so clear as well that the end of oasis begins when Lima gets his teeth knocked out. The confidence leaves him (probably traumatised by it but would never admit to that) and probably lost the nasal clarity of his head voice. If I cracked my cello, glueing it back together wouldn’t make it ring like it used to.

      Paddy Partington, the chorus of Don't Go Away is entirely a rip off of the Real People. I have also seen on TH-cam how many songs were stolen, and crucially, how direct the theft was. It's not 'oh, it sounds a bit like' another song, it is theft. This Hindu Times riff one is new to me, appalling. It's such a shame, it taints Noel's songwriting, and there's no point saying, "Well why aren't people suing him?" Because no one can go up against £100m plus. 🤷‍♀️

    "The Hindu Times" is a rip off of The Cure's "Open"

    • @GT380man
      @GT380man ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m a Cure fan right back to the 80s & respectfully I disagree. Though I will say this. Noel during his Oasis pomp would never admit to liking The Cure. Now he’s NGHFB, he asks Robert Smith to remix Pretty Boy, and Robert is a fan. So there probably was something going on there.
      Someone will find the origins of The Hindu Times, because Noel is a magpie, and very little of his is completely original. It’s still quite an art, because the thievery is quite subtle nowadays and there’s a certain genius to that. One of the NGHFB singles rips off a classic Genesis chord progression and another is so Pink Floyd that I was almost anticipating David Gilmour’s guitar sound. But the snatch of that just blows away downwind and very few will even have noticed it.
      Like 23.30……Little by little intro.

    Could have been great if:
    1 - Noel didn't decide to sing THREE songs on the album. Should have left Force of nature to Liam. Cmon its 10 songs, you need to sing on 30% of the album?
    2 - Born on a diferent cloud is really really bad.
    3 - The production on a few tracks is really weird, like in Better man and Force of Nature.
    4 - Hung in a bad place is really bad, should have used thank you for the good times if it was to have one from the new members.
    IN the end, is just a half good album, just like SONTSOG

    I’m reassured that their hit rate fell off badly in the later albums. That’s normal. Even for an extraordinary band. I have a lurking fear that despite the attitude, they’re really a manufactured band, with a covert writing team.

    Even though the later albums weren’t as good as definitely maybe ( what is, that’s a classic) they had at least 2 or 3 great songs on them. Some bands would give anything to make 1 classic song. Oasis made them on a regular basis.

    • @dondamon4669

      Very true and none of there other stuff gets the respect it deserves. It’s because the upper class media couldn’t handle these working class lads getting so big and loved the fact they didn’t stay as big as said they were gonna, it’s like they delight in going on about how they failed! It’s bollox! The reality is all there later albums went to number 1 as did the singles , sold more then most other rock bands, were still selling out stadiums , still having shows dedicated all to them! They were still the biggest English rock band even though the times had changed and the DM and WTSMG years were never coming back! If you take away some of the songs written by gem and Andy the later albums still sound good!

    MUNCIH 2002 TEETH= VOICE DOWNHILL

    • @BHFCP
      @BHFCP 5 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      altough teeth have an influence in the way you pronounce words and the resonance of the voice itself that argument is plain stupid. Liam's voice was changing since day one and he still had good performances after Munich! His voice deterioration was inevitable. The stance, the drinking, the smoking, the shouting, the lack of warming up, the cocaine and all that other shit...I mean he was abusing his throat on purpose. And then he got Hashimoto's disease which cause hoarseness of the voice. It was a matter of time and some might say that he was unlucky and others might say that he was lucky that his voice held on pretty well during 8 years..4 of them being amazing!
      I still think he is one of the best of all time, untouchable at his peak!
      If he didn't had that agressive approach he would be just a normal singer. The one thing that made him Godlike in the 90's fucked him over later on. You might wonder if Liam could be more carefull sometimes about taking care of his voice..but then again you hear performances like chicago 94, live by the sea 95, glasto, earls court, g mex and the NOW THAT YOU'RE MINAAAAH at knebworth and you think fuck being carefull. There was just no tomorrow for that guy. He gave it all that he had! He stated in interviews that he sings every song like its the last time he'll ever sing...that shit made him special!
      Modern music didn't only fucked music itself but vocalists as well..We got to a point where all of them are manufactured to perfection with vocal lessons and on top of that you have autotune...it just doesn't sound human, it lacks personality or character! They use their voice as an instrument and that's it! Liam, kurt cobain, eddie vedder and many more who shouted their hearts out in the 90's would never make it today..even guys like Morrissey who sing very well technically wouldn't..its a fucking sad reality and it's time for a change once again!
      Sorry for the long reply..but i was on a roll :D
