Spec Miata always produces incredible racing, and the Oct. 1 Spec Miata race during the 2022 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at VIRginia International Raceway was no exception. With Danny Steyn on the Tire Rack Pole gunning for his first Spec Miata Runoffs title and multi-time Spec Miata champ Preston Pardus to his left at the green, everyone knew this was going to be a wild one. Toss in inclement weather from a hurricane and a 60-car field boasting talent like Charles Mactutus, Travis Wiley, Grayson Farischon, Elivan Goulart, Nicholas Bruni, and more, and this would be a race for the ages.
