My son and I built our first gaming PC but the ram light on the motherboard would not go out. We even bought new ram we couldn't figure it out. Once we saw how hard you have to push down on them like in this vid after doing the same, like magic worked like a charm! Note: Put together every part gently with care but when it comes to ram jam it in like an old Nintendo cartridge 😂😂😂

Otherwise, if you're mixing 2 different ram kits over 4 slots, it's best to have those kits match speed and timings as close as possible. Cause if not this can cause issues. if one is a higher speed it will clock down the speed of the slower stick. Or sometimes not even boot at all, in general it is best practice to match them exactly
Has anyone else thought you had to angle it to get the bottom notch to lock… then you hear the mb memory contacts grind like a comb and think- I f’d up
You could add 10 seconds to this clip and tell others which slot to install in. Noobs wouldnt know that they had to ID the dual channel slots to get optimised performance.
Does it matter if you put one corner in first and then click the other end into place? I'm trying to install in an existing PC and not matter how hard I try I can't push the RAM straight in so both ends snap into place at the same time, I just wondered if doing one end first matters, thanks

@@milkymoth sorry I didn’t knew that you chopped the video, now it sounds logic to me because a lot of people do that as well, so they can diversify their content.
Double check that you have the notch linedup and the youre using the correct RAM, it's possible that you could be using a different generation than you board supports. Otherwise if it seems seated and the clips are down on either side you should be all good, some boards don't make a audible click. If youre still having issues let me know im happy to help!

No need to remove everything. Just power off the pc and disconnect the cable, usally its also a good idea to press the power button a couple of times to discharge any extra power. Then just snap your RAM in
hello can i ask something? i have 2 pairs of ram with different version (same frequency and all ddr4), should place pair A in slot 1 & 2 and pair B in slot 3 & 4 or the order of placement doesnt matter at all?

Sounds like an incompatible kit, Kingston and Crucial have really great compatibility checker tools for their SKUs. You can just plug in what laptop you have and they search their products for compatible RAM

So I was pushing lightly, but then listened again and realized he was saying firmly, so I pushed harder and they clicked. If you can't put the rams in, then your motherboard probably doesn't support the ram you have. I would say check the motherboard and ram info.
doing ddr4 with ddr5 and mixing sticks together is *probably* fine, but i would get more of the same ram u have so ur mt/s speeds r consistent and reliable and wont cause any weird mobo issues
You can't mix ddr4 and ddr5 they are physically differently sized and also function differently. You would best to get another other kit, going for 2x 16gb would most likely be alot more cost effective than 3 more 8gb sticks

Some of your ram will be system reserved. However if it seems like only 8gb is being detected, you might have a faulty stick

Best to skip the 1st slot, put the first stick in slot 2, then skip slot 3, and put the second stick in slot 4.

As long as it is fully seated it shouldn't matter!
Looks Simple, but the hardest part is taking the parts out from the laptop.
Lmao, all I had to do was evenly push it down to click in 😂😂😂😂😂. I struggled for 5min trying to clip it manually
Wrong you snap it in half shake it a few times then install it.
No matter how I do there's no click sound

I would keep the matching pairs in the same channel like you said, this would allow for best compatibility.

Your PC should just recognise it, however you should go into your BIOS and enable XMP to make sure its running at the rated speed!
