    Hey Anne Marie. I just want you to know that I find all of your cold-process soap tutorials very much educational. I'm a 11 year old whom makes soaps and I'm getting my certification on lye soaps. I have my own store already because of you, so thank you so very much. You're an inspiration everywhere.

    I know you have a newer, easier recipe, but I like THIS more step-intensive soap frosting. I have not had great luck with just using my regular Cold Process soap batter at a thickness that is "kind of" like frosting. (Soft and droopy peaks.) THIS recipe and process yields a LOT of bright white soap frosting that is beautiful on any soap cupcake or bar. I'm glad I tried it and will keep using it. Stong, crisp peaks. Not hard to do and whips beautifully and makes a lot. I do use a stand mixer rather than a handheld for ease in the 7 min whipping. Thanks again for all your great videos and for sharing your knowledge.

    Hi Sherry Buras!
    Technically, it is not possible to make soap without lye. Soap, by definition, is the result of a chemical reaction between some kind of oil and lye. That reaction is called saponification. While lye is used to make soap, it's not in the final bars. That's because it's used up during the saponification process. Read more about that here: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/wheres-the-lye-2/
    If you don't feel comfortable using lye, you can make melt and pour soap! It has already turned into soap, so you're not handling lye. =)

      +Soap Queen TV Hello. Ann Marie, I was just wondering did you use any Sodium Lactate for the base of this beautiful cupcake? I'm new to soaping and have seen many use it in some of their soaping videos. Thank you.

    Hi Ann-Marie,
    I'm curious. If heat is a problem for the icing to form and keep. Does that mean the soap does not go through the gel process but rather it is placed in the refrigerator for 24 hours? I tried to make an icing, and after watching your video I realized why it was a disaster. I completely missed the cooling stage. Thank You for your instruction. Shirley

    Hi Marie, your soap is really beautiful ❤. I hope I can make a beautiful soap too because when I tried to make it, my soap froze really quickly after I added the fragnance oil so I couldn't pour it into the mold or form it at all. First, I mixed the oil with lye (I used coconut oil, palm oil and sunflower oil) and then I added the color powder and mix it until light tace. Last I added the fragnance and suddenly my soap just frozen. Was it right or wrong step? I hope you can give an explanation or tips about this case. Thank you (sorry for my bad english) 😊

    Is there a reason the lye and ouls are not mixed first then put in the refrigerater to cool before whipping the soap frosting?

  • @jmw1386
    @jmw1386 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    HI Anne Marie, This maybe a stupid question but do you suggest having a separate mixer, measuring bowls, utensils, ect just for making soap? I'm assuming you can't just put them in the dishwasher and then use them in your kitchen again?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +jmw1386 That's a great question!
      I recommend having separate utensils for soaping and other handmade products. Even with the best washing, lye and fragrance oil can sometimes get caught in micro cracks or scratches on the equipment. That means you could accidentally ingest those ingredients. To be on the safe side, I would recommend having dedicated soaping equipment. =)
      Also, hand washing is best when it comes to soaping tools. Dishwashing detergent + leftover soap equals way too many bubbles for your dishwasher! Learn more about cleaning up here: www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/tips-and-tricks/clean-soapy-session/

      +memphisdime88 Most of the soap we make is actually donated to local organizations here in Whatcom County, Washington. As you can imagine, we have lots of soap! My team and I also have soap to take home and give to friends and family. =)
