Grandissima tecnica, molto bravo, ma il risultato è lo stesso di quando noi Italiani cerchiamo di swingare. È proprio una questione di mentalità, modo di parlare, il fraseggio di Verdi.......i clarinetti da 0.38 😭
I love how you make it look so easy to play all of the notes in the clarion range and play with the best bass clarinet tone quality I ever heard. Incredible job!

Joseph DeRosa- Clarinet and Saxophone it is! Lol 😂
Look at that technique! He makes it look so effortless. It's no easy feat to sweep the music like that. And the way he let the music escape the horn at 5:24 is glorious
꧁IceOfPhoenix꧂. A horn is just any instrument that is hollow and you blow through that has a mouthpiece. So saxes are horns, trumpets are horns, flutes are not horns. Usually in an orchestra, horns refer to french horns, but the general term applies in a lot of places.
youre my hero on clarinet. honestly i could watch you play for hours and id learn so many things just by watching and listening bc youre so in touch and aware and i just love it... so much
Exquisite! Mr. Lowenstern is perhaps the most accomplished bass clarinetist of our age. It's not just the instrument that makes his playing to be unrivaled. He would sound quite good on a plastic Bundy with leaks and bad pads. The man makes the horn. The horn does not make the man!
Of course your playing is beyond good. Your dancing was entertaining and your desire to direct the orchestra was not well concealed. Always love to hear you play.
Amazing. How can you still breath after almost 13 mins of pure mayhem? Also love the old chap at the back who seems to be enjoying the performance as much as you do :)
@@chipotlelover9121 saw a comment on one of earspasms videos from a guy who said he played bass clarinet when he was 15 and is now 87, and that comment was made 2 years ago!
Autumn Maxwell , you should see the glass half full, it just means you have room for improvement. Now go practice, and like Michael would say, "Practice slowly" ;-). I'm off to practice ...
Wonderful, musical playing! I have both sung Gilda and played clarinet in the orchestra (not at the same time!) for this opera, and it's clear you know what's going on. :-)
I LOVED THIS!!!! If I could play half as good as you.... I'd BE AWESOME. Would love to hear you play "Cat & Mouse" from the movie, "Victor, Victoria"! :)
Can you please play Paws by David Bennett Thomas I absolutely love seeing and hearing you play. This is a piece I would like to see you play and upload
In the second row, last on the right: is that a basset horn? Looks a little larger than what looks like an alto clarinet sitting to his own right. Asking for my alto clarinet.
Amazing performance! FYI the lady with the short, blonde hair and glasses in the first row to the right of the conductor is my clarinet instructor. #DrBonnieCampbell❤
LOL! I wonder how many of those clarinet players went home, pulled the old Lazarus out and practiced "Rigoletto" after rehearsals? I KNOW I would have. ;-)
On invisible bass clarinet
He plays the Theremin of bass clarinets.
6:25 ah, the classic "audience claps when they think the piece is over but it actually isn't"
Love how he shakes his head at the audience as well when they started clapping
Gabriel Uy Oh my gosh! I never noticed that! Haha!
Hello People The Conductors hands are still up!
Loved it so god damn much they had to give em the applause early
also the stories where the audience thinks the piece isn't over when it actually is so the orchestra starts clapping for themselves
When the clarinets start a nationalist movements against the inferior brass intruments.
Michael is the partyeader
Cill Blinton i’m in
bass saxophone is not going down easy, at least you can hear it
Owen Leeuwis lmao
@@TWO20 you can hear the bass clarinets
yes.
All that movement... I can see you know the dark arts well.
iscrewy Martin frost is said to be one of the first to master such dark arts
I love that he showed every single one, even the wizard level.
Grandissima tecnica, molto bravo, ma il risultato è lo stesso di quando noi Italiani cerchiamo di swingare. È proprio una questione di mentalità, modo di parlare, il fraseggio di Verdi.......i clarinetti da 0.38 😭
ah yes the infamous soup stir

Joseph DeRosa- Clarinet and Saxophone it is! Lol 😂
I played bass clarinet in symphonic bNd in my senior year of hs I must say it's different far as the lower notes and such but it was fun
Look at that technique! He

Its a bass clarinet not a horn

That moment when the conductor is your high school band conductor lmao... Mr Clemons
Great performance. Can I just applaud the conductor. A calming influence, in control and really listening to the soloist.
My mans literally memorized the entire piece
5:00 right here u can see that he was about to breakdance but when he felt his bass touch the floor he remembered that he was still performing
youre my hero on clarinet. honestly i could watch you play for hours and id learn so many things just by watching and listening bc youre so in touch and aware and i just love it... so much
This video is probably one of the best solos I've ever heard on a clarinet... And you did it on a bass clarinet. Good show, mate!
Exquisite! Mr. Lowenstern is perhaps the most accomplished bass clarinetist of our age. It's not just the instrument that makes his playing to be unrivaled. He would sound quite good on a plastic Bundy with leaks and bad pads. The man makes the horn. The horn does not make the man!

This guy is the bass clarinet GOD
I love the dynamic range bass clarinets have especially on low notes
How many times have I watched this just to see Mr. Lowenstern play this? I’ve lost count…. At least 5.
Favourite bass clarinet song to listen to
Oh my goodness! Totally shocked there is such a thing as a clarinet ensemble! Also amazing bass clarinet solo! Giuseppe Verdi would be loving it!
This is GREAT playing!!! I'm amazed at the showmanship, fingering and memorization skills and I've played for over 2 decades.
Beautiful sounding clarinet choir, expressive soloist and gentle conductor. Perfect.thank you.
Oh my god I'm in love :( I really admire your playing. You inspired me to play bass clarinet after 6 years of playing soprano! Keep up the great work!
unbelievable- and he plays in tune!!!
Amazing. How can you still breath after almost 13 mins of pure mayhem? Also love the old chap at the back who seems to be enjoying the performance as much as you do :)
Excellent; I enjoyed the showmanship, too.
That black bass clarinet is so Ninja!
Beautiful playing, btw.
Why do I always come back to this video
Always like to see you perform. I play bass clarinet also... my son plays the Bb. You are a great inspiration and fun to learn from.

7:00 I love where you just hang on that note in annnnnnnticipation.
rewatching this video, you are a beast my man.
That tone!!! Wow
Still jealous of the black bass, you have, lovely sound and look
I think he gets one sent to him every year to sell; if you want one they are like $20,000-- for arguably the best bass clarinet in the world!
I can’t get over how amazing this is, wow I’m speechless.
Bravo! Well played! Great sounding ensemble too.
Fantastic playing -- by someone that is a great player and TH-cam teacher! Thank you for both.
Should have painted those D ring black!! Great performance Michael thanks to all!🙏🏻
This was performed on my 18th birthday! how cool is that. Great Job!
Videos like this make me sad about my own playing skills
Autumn Maxwell , you should see the glass half full, it just means you have room for improvement. Now go practice, and like Michael would say, "Practice slowly" ;-). I'm off to practice ...
Excellent! Vibrant choreography too!
Wonderful, musical playing! I have both sung Gilda and played clarinet in the orchestra (not at the same time!) for this opera, and it's clear you know what's going on. :-)
I love this. R is my favorite opera and this is a really neat arrangement of arias.

for shame, mister.
So cool! Thanks for posting!!!
Magnificent!
Amazing performance! FYI the lady with the short, blonde hair and glasses in the first row to the right of the conductor is my clarinet instructor. #DrBonnieCampbell❤
The bass clarinet is my favorite woodwind instrument. Pity I've never gotten a sound out of any woodwind (I've tried).
Bravo! Fantastic
This is why I love the BC

I'm the only bass clarinet in my section :( And this will be my second year being the only one in my ensemble.
