G'day Woody, great video mate. Very informative, I've noted down the settings you read out. Heading out this weekend over here in Kalgoorlie area ( I'm a local here) . I'm using a standard GPX 4500, mainly with mono coils from the older style brown UFO coil to the newer mono elite 14" one. Will let you know results next week. Also will contact you personally in regards to mods for my machine for sensitivity, increased depth and most importantly stability in the heavily mineralised ground we have over here.
As upgrades change so do the settings, we can use faster pulse settings and more sensitivity but on some settings the novice user can get into trouble by setting the detectors too aggressively while an expert will not do so, it is like selling a Ferrari but not knowing who is going to be driving, sometimes it can force one’s hand to go with the caution option. At high sensitivity and fast clocking rates even the coil capacitance can cause problems and sensitivity can actually go into reverse.
Good presentation...would there be any difference on settings on the GPX4000? If not, do you have anything informative on settings for the 4000 model? Thanks
Спасибо. Вам. Вуди! Имею 4500 Ирландской сборки 09г и недавно заимел 4800первый выпуск родной Австралия, вот и хотел узнать у вас про каскад мощности, думаю какой все же себе оставить С уважением!
hi how you doing im looking for relics not nuggets is it ok to use the detector with stabilizer on 3 or 4 because the threshold is so smooth on those numbers i look for ancient graves and big objects what i miss if i use low stabilizer?
If the stabilizer did not effect the recovery of metal targets then it be on permanently, older models do not suffer the chattering threshold, this can be removed by using DSP with associated and designated arithmetic.
awesome video thanks Woody, i just purchased the first version of the 45, it in very good condition, i’m told you’re the man who might be able to explain the difference between the first and second edition 4500, thanks in advance, oh and have i made a good decision getting version one?😊
The first version of the 4500 have the input stage gain set at 48 while the second version is set at 34, the same as the 5000. This should indicate that either or both gain settings are optimum, that is why we add variable input gain.
Hi Woody Im having problems with my 4500 giving off a faint false signal when Im swinging. I have changed coils but problem is still there any advice would be great. Thanks
clean the connector pins on the detector, some early detectors did not have the paint scraped off where the front and back ends mount, this can cause this problem, bad earthing / grounding. I have a video on YT how to repair.
Gday Woody Thanks Mate for this video... Ive just gotten one of the 'newer' gpx 4500s and im loving it Upgraded from something else...... I pretty much had the right settings except that I was using enhanced WITH tracking.... I'll now use enhanced WITH fixed. cheers mate Good video
I love my Gravitron. I can read on an ounce of gold, from a distance of one hundred feet. I can get reliable readings on a lady's jewelry box at one hundred yards: Audible or Metered......no swivel-rods! Makes me wonder who I'm going to sell all of my nominal metal-detectors to?
Hi! I'm from Russia. I watch your videos and understand that you are a great professional in GPS devices! I don't understand subtitles well, using a translator... I want to buy a GPS that would work to the maximum on clay with quartz, I saw a little thing well, can you help me with this? Thanks
If you use the detector on non mineralised clay or silica then it is possible to increase he input gain to around 55 times before serious saturation of the amplifiers occurs.
Most people screw up with ground balance.
Thanks for the settings woody..
I’m in a low mineralisation area at the moment, but I keep these settings.
Hi. Woody. what settings would you suggest using for a beginner on a 4500. Thxs ??

I live in Nevada, in the USA. Would those be decent settings for this area? It's mineralized but not real heavey like in Australia. Thank you.
Hi Woody, do you still use these settings or have they changed over the years?

The 4000 is sort of a cross breed of a gp and gpx , set it up as a 4500 as best you can.
Доброго времени Вуди. Подскажите, выходной касхад на 4800 первых годов выпуска ,такой де как и у 4500, на 48 едениц, с Уважением
I have only seen one 4800 in my life, I do not know that much about it.

Either will be a good detector.
Благодарю Вас друг!!
Cheers for setting Woody

@@DetectorMods thanks for answering. will i lose depth if i work with stabilizer on 3 or 4?
Hi mate. Have you had a chance to check out the Chinese knock off GPX5000?
Excellent stuff!!
