I've seen this movie when I was young I burst into tears. I visited that place last year and I saw the statue of Hachiko the most loyal and faithful dog companion ever. I feel down to my knees crying such a good story.

Honestly, for the first time in life I am crying after watching this heart touching story of faithfulness. in my religion we humans are also expected to be like Hachi the example of true loyalty and faithfulness. May Allah bless the ones who worked so hard on this story.

My tears are streaming as I recall the emotional story of true loving loyalty and faithfulness by the great Hachiko towards his master. I saw both original Japanese movie and the Richard Gere movie version..both had me crying buckets as I see Hachiko's religious wait for his master's return...and thank goodness the statue of the two reunited in heaven was made to fully bring closure for Hachiko's spirit...dogs are truly the best..we humans are nothing compared to their unconditional love regardless of their master's status..rich or poor, they are there...God bless the souls of Hachiko and his master. 💖😢💖🐶💖
I honestly wonder what people in Japan thought of the Richard Gere version of Hachiko. I hope they liked it even though its a modern retelling of the dog's story and not the original like the 1987 movie.
Hachiko has a great deal in common with Greyfriar's Bobby from Edinburgh, Scotland. The only difference is that Bobby witnessed his owner's passing & would visit the grave every day until his own death, he is buried in the same churchyard as his late owner & a statue is built nearby. Greyfriars is the name of that churchyard.
