It's incredible to see how much emotion goes into every note you play. There's nothing like going beyond the notes and putting all your emotions out there with an instrument. I've played flute for 6 years and it's so enthralling and exciting seeing others put so much emotion into their music. Really makes the song sound many times better, keep at it.

I just bought a violin and started self teaching via TH-cam videos because I have yet to find anyone who teaches in my area. Any advice for an adult beginning with no prior music experience? How to lose the squeakiness for example or finger exercises? You are so talented, just subscribed and looking forward to watching your other videos!
Hello Nancy! The squeakiness is all about finding the right spot in between speed and pressure on your bow. So without using your left hand but to support the violin, try only with the bow on "open string" at first (without fingers on the board). Then you can experiment with different speed and pressure. Generally, the more pressure, the more speed you need (and the louder it will be)!
hm! You could practice the bow only and make it sounds not scratchy. Probably put less pressure in your right arm, or more speed. When you find the un scaratchy sound, do it agian and again until it becomes natural !
can be a lot of things, placement of the bridge, cheap strings, cheap violin, putting too much pressure on it, playing over the fingerboard to far or on bowing on an angle... and the list continues, it just takes time and experience and feel
