    A tip some people miss is that you can freely transfer loot between yourself and your ship whenever you're within 250 meters of it. For example, if you buy a bunch of resources at Jemison Mercantile at the New Atlantis Spaceport you open the ship menu, go to Cargo, then flip to your inventory and use the Deposit All Resources button to dump them onto the ship.

    (32:33) i have found that if you are using a workbench, when you're on a planet, you have access to what's in your ship's inventory, but if you're on your ship, you DON'T have access to what's on the planet -- even if you have an outpost there. Build workbenches at your outposts.

    Slow Time. You can also buy a drink in one of the bars in Neon called Blend. Its made from Aurora and gives a watered down version of the effect, but without the contraband flag and high addiction chance.
    Its only a 16% slow time instead of 40%, but it does also give +60 DR for 3 minutes.

    • @ReapeeRon

      That's pretty awesome, I was not aware of that.

      Actually the best option though is a chem called S.T.E.V.E.
      The recipe is in a magazine called Neon Nights 2 which is found in the Astral Lounge.
      Combines Aurora, Panopticon and Uranium to make a drug that is gives the 40% time slow, plus 40% damage and 50% accuracy for 10s and is not a restricted substance.
      Of course you are putting uranium into your body...

    I would argue, Kid Stuff is not a "Good" perk; it's just a "Fun" one. All the stuff you get from it are not worth the 2% (max: 500cr)/week. You get: a backpack (your old room) that gives you +5 carrying capacity; Grandpa's Meatloaf recipe, Gran-Gran's UC Armor, unique .45 cal pistol (Sir Livingston's Pistol), and a ship dad wins at a poker game. You'll never wear the pack or armor, food is useless, much better weapons and ships.
    What IS Good with the perk (hence why I classify it as "Fun" not "Good"), are the RP opportunities when they show up randomly at locations you visit, and if you want to collect the items then they are unique at least.

      @@Astristul Am personally loving the Alien DNA / Serpent's Embrace / Wanted combo. Alien DNA gives you free +50 maxHP/O2 at the expense of -25% effectiveness for food and healing items. I don't use food = it's worthless, and I typically focus on several Physical skills that make healing nearly obsolete :P
      Serpent's Embrace adds another +25 max HP/O2 when you jump (which includes fast traveling so it's not as useless as some people think it is) plus it's had some really cool RP opportunities thus far..
      Wanted: Well everyone knows about all the free loot and XP that comes to YOU lol (plus really good for melee builds as you tend to lose a lot of health and that just means more damage..)

    (22:58) Knocking enemies out with EM can also help you boost melee skill, since stunned enemies won't fight back. Stun them and then finish them off with a melee weapon.

      That works in theory, but as soon as you hit them they wake up.
      But as it takes a few seconds for them to get to their feet it gives you a few free swings.

    I recommend only putting crafting resources in the Lodge basement storage as they can apparently reset a couple of times during the story as events alter the Lodge.
    Anything you absolutely don't want to lose you can store in the safe upstairs in your room, that is also infinite and completely safe.

    One thing you missed which is a big deal is Skip Boost. The alternate boost keybind on keyboard/mouse lets you boost in about a 30 degree arc instead of straight up, allowing you to cover distance faster than even sprinting if you are sprinting when you hit the button.
    Does not work for every key though such as F or G; but does on keys like Alt, Ctrl, Shift and Mouse4.
    The last update said they added a Controller option for this, but I have no idea how that works.

    (20:15) According to the load screens, if you use to consumables that buff the same thing, the one with the best buff will take effect. If you drink wine and take Hippolyta, you'll get the buff from Hippolyta and the debuff from the wine. I don't know what happens when one effect has a longer duration than another.

    Picking up a stealable item will still count as stealing though. Even non-lootable items like the plastic containers that are everywhere. If you pick one up to move it, it'll count as stealing.

    Selling Contraband.
    If you aren't a pirate and aren't on a planet with a Trade Authority already, you can always sell Contraband to the TA at 'The Den' which is a space station in The Wolf system, just to the right of Alpha Centauri.
    While technically a UC station there are no mandatory scans in this system so its the safe place to sell.

    • @XoRandomGuyoX
      @XoRandomGuyoX 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, 11k in credits, and another 5k from the Kiosk for your 'legit' goods(it is in the shadow of the pillar behind the Ship Services Technician at the start). Contraband loses value as you level up though. You only get a tiny fraction of the cost. Meanwhile you can loot Mag weapons once you level up, slap cheap mods on them, and watch the selling price skyrocket from the simple mods.

    Renaming ships. Be aware that when companions are unassigned to either Outpost or ship but are passengers on the ship. Their location description defaults to the base type name of the ship, whether its a purchased or commandeered vessel.

    Another tip is to prioritise the Wellness perk over the Medicine perk. Having more hp to begin with is arguably more valuable than healing more hp, especially as they both increase the hp by a percentage of the total.
    That said, definitely get one rank of Medicine, it lets you heal strangers without sacrificing a medpack.

    • @lordvalinar774
      @lordvalinar774 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oooh that's a good point. I forgot about those incidents with strangers 🤔 ( but then again medpacks are so frequent doesn't really matter )

  • @Goatcha_M
    @Goatcha_M 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Critically about the free gear in The Lodge. There is the Mk1 Armour set of Suit, Pack and Helmet.
    It's not got any Legendary effects, but its base armour stats are among the best in the game and it has them without weight 30lb like the other top tier spacesuits. And you don't actually need Master Lockpicking to get it, there is a spot on the case where you can reach through a gap in the glass and just take it.
    On balance though, you'll have more fun if you don't take it, having the best armour at the start really disincentives wearing anything else, even the Mantis Legendary stuff just doesn't compare to the straight up better protection from the Mk 1.

  • @Goatcha_M
    @Goatcha_M 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Med Packs also have zero weight. This is notably different to the Trauma and Emergency Kits which do weigh a tad.

    Always handy to have an EM weapon, even without na pacifist run there are times when you may want to use non-lethal force as an adjunct to quests, like if a civ is mind controlled by a terrormorph.
    But one of the best uses for EM weapons is when stealing ships from planet surfaces.
    Knock one of them out instead of killing them because:
    The ship will take off as soon as all the exterior crew are dead, sometimes even if you have killed all the internal crew first but haven't yet sat in the pilot seat. This also happens if you kill them quickly and jump inside before it takes off and now you are suddenly in space and you better hope it has no contraband and is a ship you can fly (they're almost always Class A's so you should be fine).

    A tip worth knowing is the No Sudden Move's mission where you go on The Scrow Starship has a major bug that if you exit the ship before completing said mission.... lock's you out permanently unless you have a previous save. I unfortunately deleted mine. Can't complete main campaign now unless I start again. Wish Bethesda would fix that.

    #57 you still are considered to be stealing when you "pick up" an item unfortunately.
    Also I would add for our explorers out there, if you are on a planet and it says "Fauna 3/4" but also says "Biome Complete", that means the last animal type youre looking for is somewhere else on the planet (mountans, desert, etc.)

    Click on the Ocean and if it says 0% it has life in it. If there's no % shown it is lifeless. Then just land at a coast open your map put a marker down on the flat area and scan other stuff on your way towards it. Easier then constantly trying to land over and over until you see the ocean.

    Well Rested romance buff.
    Unlike Fallout 4 where you got the bonus as long as you were in the same location as your lover, in Starfield they have to be actively following you for it to count.
    Also unlike Fallout 4 you can't have half a dozen romanced companions, its monogamy only.

    Cleaning Stolen Items.
    Specifically you need to sell to the Trade Authority, outside of being a pirate they are the only ones who will buy stolen items or contraband, and you need to sell to the store, not the kiosk.
    You can also clean stolen items by modding them (silencer, magazine, whatever), or by placing them in a display case at an outpost or owned home.

    • @XoRandomGuyoX
      @XoRandomGuyoX 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe Trade Authority ships in orbit will buy stolen stuff as well. Some people don't even know you can Hail ships in orbit to trade. Also, occasionally you can come across Smugglers on planets. The one you're looking for has a Bodyguard with them and they'll patrol within 50 or so meters of their ship.

    Overweight stamina drain. Let's give folks all the details, only takes a sec.
    Yes you take Health damage when your CO2 fills up completely, but it will never drain below 5% from burden alone, so its fine if you're hauling stuff in a safe or cleared area.
    Also, the higher your overburden the faster it drains, a few kg doesn't make much difference, 200kg will drain your O2 pretty much instantly.
    Finally while you stop sprinting when you hit the max CO2 wall, if you hit the sprint button again you will sprint for a few seconds before slowing again. You can keep repeating this to maintain a near constant sprint.
    Although still faster to Skip Boost as long as the Gravity isn't too low.

    • @XoRandomGuyoX
      @XoRandomGuyoX 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you find the Carry Assist legendary effect on a piece of gear grab it. You can run around with an extra 1,000kg and be relatively fine. It is even better if you find it paired with the O2 Filter effect. From there if you layer on the Personal Atmosphere power and utilize your boost pack(best done on PC with L. Alt mapped to the alternate jump key to boost forward) you can almost ignore any overweight penalties(fast travel still requires you to sit in the pilot seat on your ship).
