Ane Liv Berthelsen yeah same for us in Germany, but in grade seven it‘s just torture. Later on, starting from grade 10, we had to do an additional run for miles.
You guys did WAY better on the curl up's than you thought. Curl ups aren't a full sit up, you're supposed to keep your hands on the mat/floor and curl your upper body a little until your hands move a few inches on the floor (usually there is a marker to reach for). Essentially it's about a third to half the range of motion of a full sit up. So you guys nailed it!
Yeah thats what I was thinking too. But we also had to hold it for a certain amount of time and couldn't take our feet up off the mat. And no one could hold our feet. And we had to do push ups too
@@juliastephenson7411 that’s what I was thinking, yeah they did full sit ups but we weren’t allowed to move our feet off the mat at all or it was over, we also had to slide our fingers a certain length without taking them off. And yeah we had to hold for like 3 seconds before going back down

Btw the “curl-ups” we did for this test weren’t full sit ups. You kept your arms straight by your side and had to get your fingertips to your heels. So it was effectively like half a sit up
One time in middle school my teacher 'disqualified' all of us because we were doing full situps, so she let us try again and we literally just slid our shoulders and did half a crunch which was 'better form'
5:30 for the mile run they all should have started on that curved line. That’s what it’s there for. The guy on the outside (closest to the camera) had a disadvantage. Also, running the outside line is actually running a longer distance.
the reason the situps were so hard is cause the curlups were performed with the hands on the ground and you just had to slide them until they reached the end of a mat, they werent full-ROM situps like you guys were doing. if you did them the way we had to do them during my PE class days juji would have beaten it easily
Man I started having flash backs to gym in middle school... our gym teacher was former military. 75 pushups 75 windmills 75 jumping Jacks 20 suicides (running from one side of the basket ball court touching free shot, running back, running and touching half court, back then going touching 2nd free throw, going back then running to other side of court then going back) that's 1 suicide. Then there was just running around the court for 30 mins. Anyone slowed down past a jog, he added a min. Then sometimes we ran down the road to a church 1 mile away then back. We also had weights but that was optional. Every other day we would play dodge ball, basket ball or kickball. Edit: I forgot the 25 pullups and the 100 jump ropes.
Lol I'm pretty sure the only reason was we didn't was because we only had basketball court and baseball field. I'm also pretty sure that if coach had it his way we would have had an obstacle course in honor of the corps lol.

But then also once a year we had this thing called "the challenge" at our school... from 14-18 years old it was compulsory to run a 21km cross country half marathon. At 14 it was tough lol. Had 3 hours to finish it or no medal. Im From South Africa.
Ane Liv Berthelsen yeah same for us in Germany, but in grade seven it‘s just torture. Later on, starting from grade 10, we had to do an additional run for miles.
OOOOH so this is the name of that test. Yo it was fucking hell I was only able to reach minute 8 once, most of times I fucked up at 7.
So you guys nailed it!
that's what i thought! i hope they see/saw this, cause they looked so disappointed 😅
Did they change it? It was for sure full on sit-ups when I did it in 5th grade.
They’re basically crunches.
And yeah we had to hold for like 3 seconds before going back down
17:57 I love how Juji beat his pr and right on the next shot there are particles around him like he just leveled up.
“No you have to push the marker ya fack!” Hahahaha had me dying
this group of guys are the best youve had in a while. only missing the Buges and Antione
Excuse me sir. Mr meatballs midboe aswell
Of course Anton is the fittest.
They're all unathletic meatballs
Except zach, zach is cool. And Juji I guess
Muscle weighs more than fat. Anton primarily has upper body strength, cause he's a ninja warrior/climber.
Because he's FUNCTIONALLY athletic and has dense hard muscle.
@@Blake-pn6xm Man, this fact is not so true. Meat's density is only about 10% higher and bones 20% higher then fat. If we are talking about dry components ofc. Some fat people look so much less dense because of that most of them have problems with water in their body.
This is great. I am a High School Health & Physical Education Teacher and since many students are virtual, I can use this video as an instructional tool minus a few parts with the dropping of the F-Bomb. Thank you for doing this. I'm sure some of my high school students will watch this version compared to the old school videos.
Why are they counting the reps when there chin isn’t going over the bar
I dont think they're that strict for 5th graders
*sorry for bad english*
Yea a couple of them had suspect form but it wasn't like they were breaking records or anything, they all clearly could have done 6 solid pull-ups.
Clearly not taking it too seriously.
Back in HS, the teacher would automatically put me down as the max for all the flexibility tests since they didnt want to see my "disgusting and boneless flexibility" 😂
Lol same, double jointed, not the most flexible in my school though, got beaten by some gymnast
@@joesr31 ex (competitive) gymnast here 🙋🏽♀️😂. It would always go like I said in the first comment then everyone would ask to see so she would turn around so I could show everyone 😂
The most impressive part was Tom's mullet majestically flowing behind him in the running events
This reminds me of that one episode of Malcolm in the Middle where the dad had a group of bodybuilders doing random stuff for him
@fucjboj fr?
😂😂😂 Laughed irl
Awww yes one of my fav episodes so perfectly funny
for sit ups we were taught to put our hands on our shoulders so we dont hurt our necks from pulling on our heads
yep
and when your elbows touch your thighs/knees you go down
Btw the “curl-ups” we did for this test weren’t full sit ups. You kept your arms straight by your side and had to get your fingertips to your heels. So it was effectively like half a sit up
Yup that’s what we did too. I forget why I got disqualified but I think it was a technicality they were very easy.
One time in middle school my teacher 'disqualified' all of us because we were doing full situps, so she let us try again and we literally just slid our shoulders and did half a crunch which was 'better form'
"The rules of the game are that you have to pretend you're 5'2".
Me, 5'1.5: Finally, something in my wheelhouse.
Contrary to popular physics, Tom's flowing mane actually increases his speed and agility. Why? because it's *magical*.
"popular physics" lmaooo
The 5th grade class of 2020 looks crazy
What are they feeding these kids?!
Pangur Echyx creatine.
5:30 for the mile run they all should have started on that curved line. That’s what it’s there for. The guy on the outside (closest to the camera) had a disadvantage. Also, running the outside line is actually running a longer distance.
Most of them cut in tho so it wouldn't have mattered
“Ahhhh... Russian man! You never went to the moon before us”!
... Underrated😂
Me running the track with bad joints, heat sensitivity, and heart palpitations:
My gym teacher: YOU'RE OFF PACE RUN ANOTHER LAP
the reason the situps were so hard is cause the curlups were performed with the hands on the ground and you just had to slide them until they reached the end of a mat, they werent full-ROM situps like you guys were doing. if you did them the way we had to do them during my PE class days juji would have beaten it easily
I JUST REALIZED!
When Tom pulled out a cigarette doing his mile, I was on the floor.
Bob Jones I was smoking a cigarette as I was watching glad I wasn’t running, then he pulled one out and kept running, I fuckin died!
@Franklin Terwilliger III He used to and then he quit. He must've recently started again after his break-up
And he still beat the time lol
@D A7 are you concerned about potential cancer risks? Or does it not faze you
@D A7 yeah cigs and weed aren't the same, probably why
Eric Bugenhagen would approve the soundtrack for sure
Can you imagine if Eric was hanging out with these guys too lol. The "mind set" would be so strong in this video it would break the internet!
@@allenissuperman next time Eric is there they definitely need to do a challenge like this again
tom: "i only have one vice" lmao oof
“You have to push the marker ya f***” I actually lost it 😂
Feels like an 80's VHS homeworkout video.
So was everybody shredded?
@@coopern3203 we weren't shredded but we definitely had athletic muscle definition. I was on the basketball team, we never got tired lol
That’s how gym class should be, granted people should be taught proper form on everything and they should start out a little lighter
At least your suicides were in a gym! Ours were done on a 100m rugby field
Lol I'm pretty sure the only reason was we didn't was because we only had basketball court and baseball field. I'm also pretty sure that if coach had it his way we would have had an obstacle course in honor of the corps lol.
the tattoo'd guy sure liked to go "sup?" with his head when doing pull-ups
and the Icelandic guy shows you how it's done. Proper form and everything.
he got like 8 lol If I were juji I'd wouldnt be happy with his """23""" after his 22 legitimate (still sloppy towards the end but they were passable) reps
I love how they actually do good reps! I always cringe seing (most) crossfitters do any of those exersices but they killed it!
I love the sit and reach because I am not fit, but I'm flexible 😂😂
I wonder if anton gets offended by toms Russia jokes
he makes tons of America jokes off camera like a true Russian a hole
@@jujimufu love to see.that !
@@jujimufu because he's right
23:16 "Physique Check, this'll make you feel happy..." lol
I had to help some kids train for the test when I was working at this little gym a couple years ago. The "curl-ups" that they do are way easier than the full sit-ups you guys were doing.
LMAOOO when he starts smoking a cigarette mid run 😂 and the commentary is hilarious af
Tom sparking a bogey mid mile resonated with me on a spiritual level
Y'all should do the fitnessgram pacer test next
I believe that falls under the law as a "cruel and unusual punishment"
Those pull-ups where underrated, impressive doing 20+ being that size
18:08 he did 17. The rest he was doing quarter reps and just flicking his chin up
u mean 10
as you typed that comment you were lying down on your bed eating. Focus on your own grind and then focus on other people’s grind.
@@dylanbrown659 are you stupid
@@dylanbrown659 I do share his opinion and I'm resting between sets now.
Crossfit baybeeee
when the dude just put his hands and stretches instead of pushing the marker, had me wheezing im subscribing lmao
I like how Tom stopped for a cigarette, but still got third place in the mile run
I think Anton may be the most athletic dude here
6:39 you mean anton is a trained killer ...wow..
60% of russian men has gone through military service
tom is slowly becoming moe from the simpsons
Yo I think your fatal flaw here is that curl ups are more like what we call crunches. You don't have to bring your chest up to the knees, so its significantly easier.
When the lawsuit kicks in 15:49
damn tom it's called sit ups not autofellatio
ROFL
1:15 lmao they only require girls to do one pull-up
Hey, until recently, the Marines didn't even require that from their women. It was a flexed arm hang.
And I can’t even do that-
Why is that? I don't remember pull ups being that hard, maybe it depends on individual strength?
@@pugmommy9865 I think most of it is the individuals weight, obviously a 6 ft tall, plus sized person is going to have more trouble than a 4 ft tall slender person
@@abby5495 Ya that's probably true, I was a really skinny short girl so other girls who were taller or weighed more may have had a harder time
Dude, this is the most shredded I’ve ever seen Juji. Holy shit!
Who’s gonna tell em you start the shuttle run lying down
What my school didn't do that
What type of school did you go to?
Well a singaporean school
What
Man.... smoking, drugs on weekend, only one getting tilted on the reach...
He definitely does stick out in the group :/
I appreciate the ammount of 80s nostalgia that went into this...
@AuthoritativeNewsSource well, naturally...
"were gonna speed this up because it's incredibly boring"
Me: go to one quarter impulse power
Honored to have ran on that same exact track in High School.
Anton is by far my favorite person:) He's so nice!
I hate how Tom talks so much shit to him I think he is jealous of him
