*EDIT* I talked to Mr. Benton and here is the thing : "Yes, more or less the same amp, the model is based on a Laney Cub too. The HB has however some major modifications done by one of our service center magicians. The power attenuation is much better in the HB amp, and we use far better tubes too, tested for 48 hours and hand matched. So no need for Bias if you guys want to change them !". I don't know how big this monoprice brand is in the UK or the US but I've literally never heard of them, let alone an amp, from that brand in Europe. Just go to the recommendations under your video. There if Fluff, showing the 1 Watt model. The vid is called "the cheapest amp on Monoprice". I am not disappointed that I am now able to get this amp for a reasonable price - and with the well known Thoman warranty. Edit: European Monoprice does not sell the amp. It has to be some kind of a 110 V - thing.
Haha I just got introduced to your guy's products. Looking to pick up some nice Telecaster models. But you have to see this video of the exact same amp by monoprice.... th-cam.com/video/bF20Ed2RvXY/w-d-xo.html
Hi there, actually it does look like the same amp as in Monoprice (see link). I guess it's made by an Asian company and branded differently for both Thomann and Monoprice… www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=611815
These Amps are Branded in North America as Stage Right Sold through Monoprice. Been around for a few years have the 15W and 5W tube models. Both are based off the Laney Cub. Both are really good amps for the price. Great beginner amps for sure.
I've never heard one in person but on videos the reverb seems a little weak. Here they turned it up to 10 and I could barely tell. I've even heard some guys say that they've replaced it with a "better" unit.
I had one for 10 days and had to return it. Definite durability issue with these amps. If you want one strictly for home/ studio use, they are fantastic. Mine just didn’t travel well, at all..
Even if its just the same amp as the Monoprice, the magic, like with all Harley Bentons, happens once the things arrive at Thomann and someone takes a look at them. Thats what makes Harley Benton products so great, that they are actually QC'd by people at Thomann in Germany. Thats the main point where HB has taken a quantum leap compared to what I remember from 14 years ago Harley Benton products.
Indeed.. Started out with a 80euro strat about 12 years ago. Weren't that great back then.. got something else quite fast.. Now 12 years later, I saw a busker playing a HB.. so we talked, he let me play, and boy was I in shock, about how good it was.. Ordered one of those classic vibe double cut Harley Bentons, well let's just say I found my brand...
Was going to buy a 5 year old vox ac 15 for 500. These were highly recommended on youtube . Got it for 270 shipped. Thing sounds awesome. Never had a tube amp before. I see, hear why people love them now
Thanks Gents. I have the Monoprice version of this amp. Had it 1 year so far. I really like the little guy, good tone, ample volume, spring reverb, takes pedals well. The tubes it came with had no markings at all. After 8 months of steady use one of the EL84 outputs became microphonic, I replaced the entire set including the preamps with some JJs and it has been good to go. Well worth the $200 USD price.
@@MrButterscotch1 Hey Gary, yeah not too bad actually. I have been using a Rat and Big Muff with it. Guitar tuned to C standard, the little guy does ok around the house and practice space.
I love these amps. (The MP version anyway) I have 3 of them! Lol. All 3 are different. (Not that anyone cares.) I’ve got a V30 in one with JJs and I’m currently upgrading some of the boards components with higher quality ones. Caps, transformer. Another with the stock seventy80 and GTs. and the third with a greenback. I’ll often run all 3 as a wet/dry/wet setup. Excessive but fun.
Oh man, this is awesome. First, Kris is playng on "purple sparkle", which I bought two-three months ago (very nice guitar). Second, that amp sounds really nice, I asume that I will replace my Vox AC4TV, because HB Tube 15 has master volume, 12" speaker and inbuilt reverb. Great job , Harley Benton!
I put Celestion Creamback G12H-75, bias new output tubes, put Mullard NOS in V1, Telefunken and another tube at my discretion, installed bias for V1 position and the amp got more treble, three-wire reverb, it now sounds like $1500. The Mullard V1 is 12au7 and together with the Celestion G12H-75 gives enough headroom, it is a great platform for pedals.
I got mine in January and haven’t had a chance to use it live (obviously), but last week I used it in the recording studio and came out sounding like I wanted to sound. Clean with reverb (just a touch of gain) is the way forward for me, and this amp DELIVERS, Also, I do like the way it looks.

This is the monoprice stage right rebranded. I have one with the exact same specs as this one right down to the seventy 80 spkr. It's an awesome amp and I use it more then my Fender BDRI.
Damn, I can remember growing up with horrible solid state 5w practice amps that sounded like someone had installed the speaker from an answering machine on a toaster... and the garbage guitars that were unplayable... these are golden times for beginner musicians. At the same time, they have no excuse now ;P Man, who would have thought HB would actually become a very serious contender for mid range equipment in the music industry, but it's becoming a reality, well done.
I'm 53 now and I can't believe what you can get today for under $300. If you are willing to spend $600 then you can get some great quality gear. That was absolutely not true in the 1980's. With inflation factored in, $200 in 1980 is the equivalent of $620 today and I can tell you that you couldn't purchase anything but pure garbage for $200 in 1980. Whatever you bought for that would be worse than not having anything at all. Capitalism has made this possible. Thanks Capitalism!

This definitely got my attention! I only have one question. I always use the fx loop on my set-up with the 4CM. Is the fx loop reliable? Id this a good series loop or is it a crappy parallel? I own one great valve amp but that fx loop is just terrible. Unusable. It's parallel... It would have been great if you guys had ran a few pedals through that fx loop as well in the video. (Or make a new one...) thank you. Rock on, everyone!
6:03 this is my kind of tone and I'm happy about the way this amp performs it. I did not find a legit practice tube amp in this price range other than this one(I live in Europe). Anyone else having that feel of "too good to be true"?
Yes but i've got 3 Harley Benton products now, a bass, a 12-string and a ukulele. And theyre all very good. Because Thomann makes Harley Benton they can sell directly which takes 40-50% off the price. Do a €300 Harley Benton product is the same in quality as a €600 one from another brand. These tube 15 Amps are REALLY good. They're worth Every Penny.
Yeah we spotted that from the start.. I had a Monoprice for about a week. The Tolex was peeling and shrinking in every direction and the cut fit joints were showing a gap. I thought about keeping it and recovering it. Then the reverb stopped working. I gave up right then and returned it. If HB holds the quality it could be a great product. However Monopice was playing quality roulette. It was like Oprah Windfrey show You get a good one and you get a good one and you... well....you get one lets see if you thinks its ok.... Nope! I found the chrome face plate distracting and hard to read the text just like a Fender Hot Rod Deville I have. Black plate with white letters would be better and might be cheaper to produce.I might try one if they do ok.
Dad Gad one of my monoprice reverbs took a dump too. I use a strymon flynt and didn’t notice until I took it to my gf house and left it there for visits. Still have it and it sounds great. Paid $195 new from amazon with prime.
I have the same amplifier that I bought from Monoprice about 3 years ago for about $175. It does not have the Harley Benton Badge, but otherwise it’s identical. Someone in Asia contract manufactures these and affixes a brand specific badge for whomever wants to buy a shipping container-full (probably less that such a huge number but who knows). I’m sure there’s a sizable price break for the higher numbers purchased. I looked around as these are available, depending on the vendor, for various asking prices. Right now Thomann is about the lowest; there’s one that’s a bit lower but only because it’s in sale for the moment. I’d just buy from Thomann because of the integrity of goods backing and the superior customer service (aka CS) Thomann offers. The price of good CS is an intangible for which it’s hard to determine a monetary value. As for the amp...the tone, the feel, the reliability and the feature set is almost impossible to find anywhere else for less money. I’ve built a number of my own guitar amplifiers. I can’t build this for less money than what Thomann is selling it for. While the amp sounds good as is, just because I can, I installed an Eminence 12” guitar Speaker and set of JJ brand tubes I had sitting on my parts shelf into the amp. Wow. That made a good amp sound substantially better in terms of tone. Here in the US, it’ll be nigh on impossible for one to find a better amp at this price point. In the interest of full disclosure, I’m just an independent guitarist. I have no horse in this race and am not affiliated with Thomann, whomever makes this amp, Eminence, JJ or anyone else but myself.
Yes, the same. I have one (HB) and it's just amazing for the price. I'am beginner but i can tell you it's night and day considering a beginner little combo amp wich cost me about the same price. Without send and return effects. I play with bias fx2 directly in the return effect of the HB and it's amazing in a house. Now, ... wait and see for durability ...
Razman . "Isn't that just the mono price amp with a Harley Benton logo on it"? Erm, isn't it simply a Laney Cub copy, built to look and sound like a Laney Cub?
Kris guilome nice demo Loved the new guitars and for once I didn't know which one I preferred that T shape mmm or the purple Honey put the kids on eBay I found some new guitars and an amp Ps apparently I'm the one in danger of going on eBay..who knew I was that bad? Thanks guys
@@MrButterscotch1 You'll notice the analogue response difference immediately, seriously it's genuinely night and day compared to solid state or modelling amps and a 15w tube amp with a 12"speaker is more than adequate to keep up with a drummer, also Stick an eq pedal or even a looper with volume levels in the FX loop to get down to bedroom practice levels. Don't be fooled by the 1 watt option 1watt can go loud pretty quick with a bit gain dialed in.
This is a monoprice stageright 15/1 watt tube amp. With a Harley Benton logo. They lisceneced for use. They are good I own the Monoprice stage right. Good for H.B.
I'm thinking of buying an amp. I'm a begginer guitar player. I have a Line 6 Spider 3 (15w.) and a Marshall MG10CD (10w.). I'm considering a Line 6 Catalyst 60w., and this Monoprice 15w. I would love to hear any good recommendations. I'd like to stay in the $200-$300 range.
anybody knows "kong" or "fame" amps? they do the same copy (for less money) but at least they change the design of the housing to make it look less like monoprice....
@@Lalairu yeah i had a Fame VS30 which i think was a Hot Rod Deluxe clone. I bought it for 120€ used. it was ok. it was nothing special, but a great pedal platform with nice clean sounds and spring reverb. if you buy these used, you get a much better value then buying something like the HB 15 new. For 229 you could get a laney for example and have a probably better amp, that will keep its value. the HB will be worth 100 in the moment you press order.
The monoprice version of this amp is killer Espically for the price. My gutiarist plays the 15 watt version onstage when properly mixed and mic'd you can fill a stadium with tone. We have played many shows with it and it's still going strong. Wish they would make a more vintage look to it or different colors n styles.
Ever since I saw Glenn Frickers bass into a guitar tube amp video I've been obsessed. This will be my next purchase and damn right I'm using it as a bass amp. Any suggestions for a speaker would be great cuz those 70/80 speakers are awful.
My research shows the Eminence Swamp Thang or Texas Heat if you like less high end. Also, I'm sure the Celestion Cream or Red Back would be very nice but at a price.
Hope it’s more reliable than the Monoprice. Mine lasted less than a week and one trip to practice. Riding on the front seat of my car no less. Good studio amp, that’s it.
The first gen monoprice with the recessed knobs on top was pretty good. I still have a couple sitting around for travel and one at the girlfriends house so I don’t have to haul my good stuff around.
The one I got from Monoprice sounded great BUT the transformer crapped out within the first 3 months. Fortunately Monoprice took care of it as they say they will in their warranty
Do you think that this amp with a good overdrive or distrotion pedal in front can handle metal stuff? Or will it get too muddy because of the preamp and speaker?
Thanks for the detailed reiview. Occasionally, I play an acountic guitar throgh an amp (not mic'd). Will an acoustic guitar (with Fishman system) sound too bad through this? I have generally heard that tube amps are not suitale for acoustic guitars. If playing an acoustic is not a problem then I wounldn't mind considering this amp over Katana 50. Your commments would be useful in my decision. Also, how does this compare with Bugera V5 Infinium (in terms of sound quality), which I was cosidering at some point.
Too risky to play acoustic guitars through electric guitar rigs sound- wise, all in the electric guitar circuitry is aimed to SATURATE the signal in favor of the electric guitar's sound and specs. Vice versa it works: playing electric guitar through pa or acoustic speakers, amps etc usually makes for a very decent clean guitar sound though not usual "electric" guitar sound. I would pick up an acoustic guitar combo or HiFi/ pa unit WITH TWEETER(S) and woofers and circuitry aimed either in the acoustic, plucked stringed instruments or flat HiFi/ pa direction! There is a reason why there are different circuits, speakers etc aimed for different uses. At first, without a tweeter your acoustic guitar is going to sound dark and missing something crucial: all those harmonics that distinguish it as a musical instrument. Nothing is prohibited though and all is open to experimentation, I am just telling you what works having experimented and studied a lot, choices and (monetary) risks are left on you! Cheers!
@@georgefromgreece4119 Thanks for your detailed answer. One more question, in case you can answer it. Any idea on the approximate hours the pre and poweramp tubes last? Just wondering if it is frequent thing then in the long run it could be an expensive amp to maitain? I am currenlty considering BH Tube15 or the Katana 100 (the latter also has acoustic amp simulation, so I am sliglty leaning more towards it!).
So according to the Thomann website these won't work in the USA - This item runs exclusively on an operating voltage of 230V and therefore requires a voltage transformer to run in your country of United States of America. I guess I'll order a Monoprice
I emailed them about it, they're having trouble with the production because the factory in China had to close down during spring. They hope to get them back in stock again at the end of June.
I saw another video (the pedal channel) that talked about OD pedal types that sound best for certain amps. Does this amp have a scooped profile (to match with a tube screamer type pedal) or a mid boost (match with a blues driver)?
The Tube 15 is pretty balanced sounding, something like a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It's more on the mid focused than on the scooped side, but just a hint. What that means is that it sounds midrangy with a screamer and a little scooped with a Blues Driver. It's pretty easy to make it work with most overdrives. //Cheers, Kris
ello my friend, the amplifier similar to the one you reviewed by is finally activated. I have only one doubt: it makes a lot of noise if I turn the gain or volume knobs more than half, even when the guitar cable is not connected. the back part instead becomes very hot? is this also normal on a tube?
Salvatore Piazzolla I don’t know if this amp is particularly sensitive to hiss, could be your house power connection. Is it properly grounded? As far as the heat goes, that’s of course normal, since it’s a tube amp. Inside the vacuum of the tubes there’s red hot glowing metal, so you should only be concerned if it does NOT get steaming hot. If it stays cold the tubes are broken.
After buying one and comparing it to my other branded guitars I asked myself the same question. I mean, HB only has to make some signature models for some rockstars, invest some money in marketing and boom. It already has what it takes to do it.
That amp looks just like the mono price stage right 15 (an amp that gets good reviews) it may even be. I guess it would come down to price and quality control
I was gonna ask if that amp swallows an overdrive like a J.Rockett hrm model til I realised that u do the demo with one! 😂. Mine sounds awful in a Fender frontman 15W
Haha! Well, there's your answer then. :) The Tube15 is actually pretty good with pedals. Def. one of the best affordable pedal friendly tube amps in my opinion. //cheers, Kris
H J everyone is copying . Killing of europa market with china products that is made with slave labor for haf the price. Of course it sounds great & loving the cheapness . Enjoy !
If you live in North America, you want the Monoprice Stage Right 15W (120 volt). If in UK and others Harley Benton and Laney Cub 12R (230 volt). All of them are great amps. Edit: Apparently the Laney Cub12R comes in both voltage configurations depending on where its purchased.
It's a Laney Cub12r clone (or a clone of the Monoprice which is, you guessed it, a Laney Cub12r clone) Stick a Vintage 30 in there and it'll sing! No mudddines
Been trying to get one model of guitar from them for almost a year..not happy with them at all..they always tell me 4 to 6 weeks....over and over and over for one year...about ready to give up on them for good...

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m just an independent guitarist. I have no horse in this race and am not affiliated with Thomann, whomever makes this amp, Eminence, JJ or anyone else but myself.
Kirk Bolas I do as well. Are the controls on top and recessed? I have 3 of those and they sound great.
So the Monoprice 15 Watt amp that we’ve seen for years, but with a Harley Benton logo on it....
Warranties are good
Yep it sure is, I have 2
Crazy as soon as I saw the amp I thought the same thing. Price the same? LOL
And the Artist Cremetone by the look of it.
YUP!
I'v got this amp. it's fantastic!
Even this thing sounds a million times better than any modeler. Quite good job Thomann.
Isn't that just the mono price amp with a Harley Benton logo on it?
Sure is!
Except it has a totally different tube SPECS an entirely different tone stack and a Celestion speaker - yep same amp -
@@alexandriawallacew9327 The stageright has the same tubes and a seventy 80 just like this one though
Razman . "Isn't that just the mono price amp with a Harley Benton logo on it"? Erm, isn't it simply a Laney Cub copy, built to look and sound like a Laney Cub?
Harley benton are really moving up in the ranks,it has spring reverb and an fx loop? Excellent
I have this amp. In the States. Can't say enough good things about it. Put it up against a Blues Jr. any day. Buy it!
Kris guilome nice demo
Loved the new guitars and for once I didn't know which one I preferred that T shape mmm or the purple
Honey put the kids on eBay I found some new guitars and an amp
Ps apparently I'm the one in danger of going on eBay..who knew I was that bad?
Thanks guys
That's a brilliant starter to intermediate combo amp, for the price.
I've never owned a tube amp so this might be my first one. Lots of spec for the cash.
@@MrButterscotch1
You'll notice the analogue response difference immediately, seriously it's genuinely night and day compared to solid state or modelling amps and a 15w tube amp with a 12"speaker is more than adequate to keep up with a drummer, also Stick an eq pedal or even a looper with volume levels in the FX loop to get down to bedroom practice levels.
Don't be fooled by the 1 watt option 1watt can go loud pretty quick with a bit gain dialed in.
@@Emma-kz3zr you have sold me, I think this will be my next amp.
A reverse headstock on that Fusion II HH would make it look awsome.
Well I'm now not looking at the supro or blackstar. The fx loop is the deal maker.
This is a monoprice stageright 15/1 watt tube amp.
With a Harley Benton logo. They lisceneced for use. They are good I own the Monoprice stage right. Good for H.B.
Fantastic amp for the price, sound warm and creamy!
Are the cleans decent?
@@jamieolson766 Yes Jamie. I've a Fender Tele deluxe and I like the clean very much
@@lucabartoliniprof Awesome thanks for the reply. I was saving for a Blues Junior but I think this might be the ticket.
@@jamieolson766 You are wellcome :)
Will you make a video about the Tube5 too?
I'm thinking of buying an amp. I'm a begginer guitar player. I have a Line 6 Spider 3 (15w.) and a Marshall MG10CD (10w.). I'm considering a Line 6 Catalyst 60w., and this Monoprice 15w. I would love to hear any good recommendations. I'd like to stay in the $200-$300 range.
anybody knows "kong" or "fame" amps? they do the same copy (for less money) but at least they change the design of the housing to make it look less like monoprice....
Fame seems a nice brand. I only know the 5w version.
A great amp! Would anybody know the magnetic strength of the magnets in this amp? Thanks
The monoprice version of this amp is killer Espically for the price. My gutiarist plays the 15 watt version onstage when properly mixed and mic'd you can fill a stadium with tone. We have played many shows with it and it's still going strong. Wish they would make a more vintage look to it or different colors n styles.
Ive got a mono. Changed the chinese tubes. Its a nice amp for the price. But im saving for Fender Twin. Just a few more months and i should be there.
It's exactly the same amp, just sold under a different brand, and the power supply is made for the 200v-span rather than 100v.
The first gen monoprice with the recessed knobs on top was pretty good. I still have a couple sitting around for travel and one at the girlfriends house so I don’t have to haul my good stuff around.
The one I got from Monoprice sounded great BUT the transformer crapped out within the first 3 months. Fortunately Monoprice took care of it as they say they will in their warranty
new amp in feb, out the catalogue in April ? it looked very promising, where is it ?!
Does it needs Bias adjustment?
When will it be available again?
You guys always hit it out of the park. This is a nice little amp and for the money?
so - 2 new additionss to my whishlist - the Amp and the Vintage-Overdrive... oh the Pedal was already there, but i did not hear it bevore...
The Harley Benton amp is a 240 volt amp if I'm not mistaken. Make for the European market.
What's better for bedroom - this or Marshall dsl1 combo?
I bet you sell a ton of these. Sounds really good!
Geiler Amp👍 cooles Video
cant buy them at the moment.... is the amp coming back?
I emailed Thomann about this. They're made in China and had to close production, they hope to get new ones again at the end of June.
So according to the Thomann website these won't work in the USA - This item runs exclusively on an operating voltage of 230V and therefore requires a voltage transformer to run in your country of United States of America. I guess I'll order a Monoprice
I believe the stage right also has a celestion
Monoprice?
Stage Right!

Are there any plans to add roasted maple neck and floyd options to that purple finish fusion???
This orange rt35?
Great amp, I have one, but there is no power scaling. It's just like a lo input, really.
Souds like my grandmas tube radio kiddin awesome rock on
$200 mod (better quality speaker and tubes) and you'll get an amp that can kick away a $800 Blues Junior.
Whay is it discontinued now? I am glad i'v got both of them in time...
I emailed them about it, they're having trouble with the production because the factory in China had to close down during spring. They hope to get them back in stock again at the end of June.
They're listed on the website again now.
I live in the US if I order this will it run on110v?
It's sold in the US under the Monoprice brand, get that instead.
When you noodle during the first few parts what do you normally play is it pentatonic or are those major scales?
they are pizzaclosets
I saw another video (the pedal channel) that talked about OD pedal types that sound best for certain amps. Does this amp have a scooped profile (to match with a tube screamer type pedal) or a mid boost (match with a blues driver)?
The Tube 15 is pretty balanced sounding, something like a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. It's more on the mid focused than on the scooped side, but just a hint.
What that means is that it sounds midrangy with a screamer and a little scooped with a Blues Driver. It's pretty easy to make it work with most overdrives.
//Cheers, Kris
ello my friend, the amplifier similar to the one you reviewed by is finally activated.
How big is the speaker? 10 inch?
Okay Amazing!
Effects loop and external can for that price?
Killing it again, also with these guitars!
Wann gibt's den???
HB 15w amp gives a plopping noise when I turned it on or off, do you have any idea?

And 50% less quality control or more!
After buying one and comparing it to my other branded guitars I asked myself the same question. I mean, HB only has to make some signature models for some rockstars, invest some money in marketing and boom. It already has what it takes to do it.
when are the new hb explorer guitars coming?

How come harley benton has the same identical amp as monoprice 15w for$250?
I ordered one but it didn’t sound like in the video. Muffled it sounded IRL.
John O RA tube amps only sound good at mid or high volumes sadly. There just that powerful.
That amp looks just like the mono price stage right 15 (an amp that gets good reviews) it may even be. I guess it would come down to price and quality control
Jacob Bockover has a celestial. It’s probably a little better.
Sweet little amp.
