Christmas is about giving and we gave Leeds everything they could have wished for in that game. Congrats #LUFC fans enjoy the win. #OUFC fans its a new era, but looks like Rowett has a LOT of work to do. Oxford fans and Leeds fans give me the gift of your comments. 🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁
did you hear on bbc radio oxford they had a interview with the new manager and owners before todays game and they said they called des to come in and have a meeting and he told them he couldn't come in because he was out of the country on holiday but after taking some time to think about what i heard why would he go away if he thought he was going to be in charge for the leeds game today and in the dub podcast they do they also said after the sacking they players where at their christmas party this week this just don't add up to me
Thank you as a Leeds fan 9 wins now in 11 home matches so yeah Elland road has been a graveyard for most visiting teams this year, take heart Leeds have been fallible away from home this season so Merry Christmas to all Oxford fans you may just a different result when we visit
Leeds fan here. Enjoyed your summary. Thanks. Oxford may have lost 4-0 but you were nevertheless better than some teams who didn't give it a go like you did. Hope you stay up.
Leeds fan here. Great video, honestly I wouldn't be too down as an Oxford fan. Was surprised by the away fans, in the nicest way possible I don't tend to think about Oxford and their fan base (if I'm comparing to teams like Wednesday, Pompey etc that I know will show up and make a noise), but I thought the away fans were very decent. I thought the Oxford players looked a little bit shapeless, it didn't feel like there was a clear plan, but playing without a manager that probably makes sense, and even with that you are FAR from the worst team I've seen at Elland Road this year. I still think you'll probably be down towards the bottom, but even under these tricky circumstances I thought you probably showed enough to stay up. Best of luck
Been listening to you now for few years and even now in our dismal days akin to just managing the two wins to keep us outta div 2 with Mannings first games, your channel l look forward to hearing because it’s straight up without the over the top hype we get from radio commentary, keep it up Ian and happy Xmas to you.
Thanks to your entertaining blog I have been drawn to following Oxford Uniteds fortunes. I watched the game up until 2 0. I agree with you that between goals 1 and 2 Oxford did quite well and did create some threat at times. I also agree my long lost nephew Will Goodwin needed to be on the pitch as Goodwins live up to their name. I will be keenly watching the rest of the season. There are plenty of games left and the margins are slim between most teams. WBA were bottom of the league after the first game Carlos was appointed and then just missed out on the playoffs by the end of the season. There is hope as always. Merry Christmas Ian.
Leeds fan here. Two of the goals were handed on a plate to Leeds esp the Aaronson goal. To me it looked like Oxford lose the balls in key areas esp in their final third. You just can not do that at this level. I did like the way Oxford tried to play from the back but the Leeds press was far too strong. Rowlett is a proven manager and there is still plenty of hope for Oxford. Your home form is going to be key. Good luck!
Norwegian Leeds fan here, we are Leeds, and we are used to stumble on the finish line, so no optimistic believe here ,but the hope is there. Love your analyze, thank you
Honest and fair review. I hope you stay up this season. It must have been a tough game for you because Elland Road can be an intimidating place to come.
Just briefly on Buckingham. The move makes a cold, logical sense. Ferguson was interviewed and that seems to be his view. No disrespect to Des, but the club needs to look to the future and it stands more of a chance with Gary Rowett in charge. That’s a perfectly reasonable POV, I just disagree with it. Football is about emotion. It is about sentimentality. A local guy, achieving success and uniting the fan base was an amazing story and one the club has chucked away without a second thought. Nothing against Rowett, but he’s just a hired gun. He’s no more emotional investment in this club than the next man. By all accounts a nice guy and of course he will want to do well. It just feels a cold and harsh decision to bring him in now. The board are clearly happy to do that and just hope the fans will rally round. Buckingham is carrying the can for the defeats. However shouldn’t our head of recruitment over the summer be in trouble too? How many of our signings have made an impact? Two, three maybe? How many have spent the season warming the physio couch? How many are playing like Will Vaulks, who seems to have a great assist record for the opposition. We lose Murphy to Pompey and have signed in several wingers who are nowhere near his quality. Maybe Ferguson can explain why our recruitment has been so poor
Wouldn’t take much from this game, 90% of the clubs in the league will go to Leeds and struggle even when burnley won it was smash and grab. Not sure about Rowett tho although he is experienced in this league at least, merry Christmas!
Another day @ the office for leeds @ Elland road, its our away form thats a great leveller for us.some might say the elephant in the room is getting bigger!..
Leeds fan here. It was men against boys yesterday but as you said, this isn’t really your fight. Good luck for the rest of the season. Get behind your new manager and there is no reason you can’t stay up.
The outcome we expected and feared. I was there, mainly because our US-based son was desperate to go and also because it was a new ground for me. Wouldn’t have been so bad if other results had gone our way. As it is, we’ve the proverbial mountain to climb. Must, MUST, win the two upcoming home games.
Oh dear clutching at straws aren't we? Surprised not to see Goodwin but do we have time for players to improve?? The only good thing this week was getting the new man in so quickly instead of drifting-felt sorry for Shorty to be so let down.
Didn’t see the game, this one won’t determine where we are at the end of the season. Rowett has got a massive job. We have to take our chances when we get one and stop giving the ball away so simply.
not good but it was Leeds our rival to say the least but as for you fans they need to have a rant at the players for having no respect ,care or bottle for the fans that pay for their lifestyle

Oxford born but Leeds supporter for 63 years. Good unbiased report fella. Wishing the U's all the best for the rest of the season
Leeds in peace. Great showing on the South Stand. Elland Road a very difficult place to visit, wouldn't dwell on it.
South stand?
@Kilgallon1981 The South Stand View - this lad went on for a word.
Decent support from you lot today mate, all the best for the season!
Should of gave us more tickets. And then I would have gone. Pretty much guaranteed promotion with that squad
@@matthalsey7808 they will just lose to Southampton again
@UNR1VA11ED_M1NER won't be in the same division pal so not sure how that's going to happen for a while
@@pauljones5831 you ain’t getting promoted Southampton getting relegated
@UNR1VA11ED_M1NER slightly bitter
Another incredible assist from Vaulks.
Only reason he’s starting is for throw ins

Great vlog. Good luck with your new manager.
1st half you had chances to go in on terms. No shame for you guys. Excellent vlog from you.

I ain’t reading all that
Weirdly confident about getting a win against Cardiff on Boxing Day, Rowett seems very keen on making immediate impact
Leeds fan here. Good video mate, good luck for the rest of the season. Happy Christmas.

I used to live in Oxford in my early 20s (brize lad) lovely part of the world. At least you had a go! Good luck to the rest of the season.
From what I see your a decent bloke with a good sensible head. Keep going.
Leeds fan here. It was men against boys yesterday but as you said, this isn’t really your fight. Good luck for the rest of the season. Get behind your new manager and there is no reason you can’t stay up.
Very magnanimous, sir. I like you and no hard feelings.

We all expected that result. Season re-begins on Boxing Day. Must win IMO. COYY
Oh dear clutching at straws aren't we? Surprised not to see Goodwin but do we have time for players to improve?? The only good thing this week was getting the new man in so quickly instead of drifting-felt sorry for Shorty to be so let down.
Goodwin enjoys a physical battle unlike Harris who just goes down after every little tackle
He also just doesn’t push like the first 4 games
From a Sunderland fan all the best

What? Is this English
Do you regret making that 4-1 Oxford win prediction? Elland Road is a hard place for opponents to come and take points away from the games.
At the end ,you will be going into league 1
This guy said that Oxford would win by 4 -0 what a joke
He was joking mate we all knew we was gonna lose
